Updating my BIOS is a real chore, reading scrawled messages to myself on settings and such.
This was after I entered the twilight-zone to Prequalify for an Affirm loan for a CPU. 
"5800x3d" is praised so much I doubt the reviewers, how do I know, but I did want a new one (and so the chore)

Cheap exhaust system repairs because 1) I don't want to rent a welder to install a brand new muffler (which are not cheap), 2) I know I will have to cut the flange bolts, and that is a super messy job (rust and dirt will fly everywhere, not just down) and 3) I really don't want this to take all weekend. 

 

At least it will keep me from buying a new car for another year or two.   Prices are......not good this year.

Mines been sitting in my driveway since Sept.  Not gonna sink any more into the money trap. I like telling car insurance sales they're wasting their time.

We have three for four licensed drivers, so I have to repair it.   Plus it is the wife's car and she "doesn't like the sound".    I "should" replace the entire thing, as I have access to an auto hobby shop.     I also have to change the oil and filter.  

 

I have been looking at EV cars since there is little maintenance, but... we are still too far away from a recharging infrastructure.

I am very cautious about using the word "were" in a positive context. Then again the population of the earth hasn't gotten any smaller and more people means a higher chance that dumb fucks are willing to hand over their money. Why can't everything be easy.....the hole in my muffler is on the flex pipe which means .....tape won't cut it as a temp fix.    If I put the replacement pipe on, it will break the seals at the end because this is to take some of the vibrations from the road, and just putting sealing paste on a part that will "flex" will also break after it has harden.    Maybe one of you mechanics on this gaming site will know of another solution, otherwise I will have to bite the golden bullet and take it to a shop.
