Maybe to some people. There are those who was weaker after certain painful experiences and illnesses. I could tell you a lot about the actual virus's consequences that is forbidden subject in this forum. :)

An addendum to that statement should be "...if one can heal from it. Otherwise, that which does not kill you can potentially render you weak enough for nearly anything else to finish the process."

Who said anything about finishing?

And with absolutely no surprise to anyone at all,

I am preparing for retirement and the people moving into the space my office now occupies have been coming in and asking about colors for walls. On the one hand, having had experience decorating medical offices for 35 years it's nice that they at least ask my opinion (who knows whether they'll pay attention or not). On the other hand, it seems odd to have someone else determining the decor of what I've come to think of as my office. I suspect I'm going to hit a lot more of these sorts of moments in what remains of 2021.

Congrats though! I know that is probably very hard, but that is a very awesome accomplishment. I'm a bit from that...unless I hit powerball then game over lol. Best wishes.

What are you looking forward to most?

Being on my own schedule. For the last 35 years of practice and 7 years of training before that I have been responsible to and for other people. Now, if I want to go to New York or New Orleans, Europe or Asia I can just pick up and go without having to answer to someone else.

Retirement's great, I should have done it a lot earlier :)

Enjoy being your own master (though I still often find I'm just as busy than when I was at work)

That's very cool. You have definitely earned it and then some. Thank you for your service to the community. I'm sure you helped countless people. Not an easy field, and under appreciated as well. Go do all the things now lol.

I've been warned about that by my patients. I think I have two things working in my favor in that regard though. One, my children are in their mid-thirties and have not given me grandchildren. So, the call for watching the grandkids is not going to come. Two, I am well aware that "no" is a complete sentence. When asked to do something that I prefer not to do I simply say "no." I do not feel obligated to give a reason and, if I do not give a reason, I have precluded any further discussion of all the reasons that my reason is invalid or insufficient.

Super happy for you. You'll have to share landscape shots of all the cool places you go.

Yeah, that's always fun...for me it usually involved writing tech docs. Blurgh.

For me it's passing off patient care while making certain that no one and nothing falls through the cracks.

IDK. When my computer went down I could still write prescriptions but I couldn't get on LL. My life seemed a lot more empty then. ?

What is the difference between Difficult and Unforgiving tags on Steam? Is the former for difficulty and the latter for spankings or what?
