In my game the pictures work without a flaw. That is with the use of all available submods here on LL, CK2+ and a few other, minor mods.

Please search for something else to blame.

right now the pic pack just causes everyone to have number pics. even changed the req to th enew name and still same.

Well, if you mean traits causing to have custom picture... so Yeah, it's intended to be like this. Of course, if you have trait and also picture.

 

Check, if your mods are compiable with each other.

Why? Because Dark World was updated = submods have to be updated too.

If this doesn't work, try to moving unnecessary mods, what can cause problems.

 

If you can, post screenshot, because without it... Well, we can just guess what's wrong.

 

Check also, if you have latest patch 2.6.3 or 2.6.2. Most mods here work on 2.6.3

I had the same problem.   Fixed it by making sure all submods (NoxBestia, toska, exc...) all had proper dependencies versions.   Found that my ReMeDy Custom Portriats needs to be updated in dependencies from v1.37 to v1.38...

 

Also be sure to make Dark World dependencies for any overhaul mod you are using...like CK+.

 

Doing those two things fixed it for me.

Okay, so, are the new Game Rules supposed to be in the same menu as the normal Game Rules when you start a new game, or do you trigger the screen via event? This sounds like a really dumb question, but I'm not seeing the options anywhere, even though I have DW content in (character traits, spending time, etc.). I tried it with no mods other than DW: Reborn on, yet nothing.

They are in the same menu as  the regular game rules, but at the bottom.  If you are running NoxBestia's Darkest Perversions, they are below my game rules.

Yeah, so something must be fucking up. It's especially frustrating because I'm only running DW:R to try to get it to work (even restarted my laptop just in case). Was there a recent patch or something that I missed (I don't think there was), or I am just screwed?

You are running the new version 1.44 (from a couple of days ago), with all the other modules including the old "core" deleted right?  From version 1.44 forward, Dark World is only two modules instead of several.

Be sure to be running at least 2.6.2 I had the same problem when I launched the game before downloading the patch.

Any chance you can post a quick and dirty list of the game rule globals so we can add

them to saves we already have mid game?

What I find easiest is to make a new game with the rules I want, save it, then copy paste the rules section over to you old save game then load it up and go.  (It there aren't other incompatibilities).

The code says

random_independent_ruler = {
			limit = {
				ai = yes
			}

So, no. Random independent AI ruler. Though in my game, Fenris started out in a small county/duchy in north Syria/south Turkey. How he ended up as Pope, I have no idea, but he did.

Should have a small update for late Sunday evening release. I wanted to have custom images for the Neko start option, similar to the Werewolf random image assignment.

 

So it'll be a release of both the Dark World ReMeDy Custom Images, and the Dark World Reborn mod.

 

Right now, I'm not planning on rolling the Custom Images mod into it, as that appears to be the item that most folks opt as to whether or not to use, and it has the strongest DLC requirement in order to display properly.

 

There should also be a couple other things.

 

Oh - and to answer a few questions:

 

Q. What about the content that is still missing from the original Dark World mod?

A. I've been opening it up more often, and my intention is to add a little bit here and there as I move forward, while also sprinkling in new content. Some things won't make it over, due to the change in direction. Specifically the old Slavery system and the old Whoring system. The new Slavery and Whoring system may get some tweaks, and they'll likely get more events, but that approach is here to stay. Side note: I do intend on bringing the Brothel Expansion event chain back in some form.

 

Q. Alright, but what about the old Lilith Region?

A. Right now my plans are to wait until Monks and Mystics comes out, so I can get a hands-on feel for the secret societies. Ideally, it would fit more in my vision for it to be a secret religious society, corrupting from the shadows, and after a point perhaps it makes itself known. If I can somehow achieve that with the secret society play, then that's how I'll reintroduce it. If I don't like how it works, then I'll take the original religion approach again.

 

Q. What are you working on now?

A. Outside of the Neko images, I'd like to see each release involve another race roll-out, until folks have the option to also start as an Orc, Elf, Vampire, and Kitsune. Outside of that, it's more whatever grabs my interest at the moment.

Yaaaay! Finally old stuff is coming back!

I liked brothel events!

But God... They were so annoying.

You open brothel.

Your finest daughter became suddenly cheap whore.

You tell her to stop whoring.

She doesn't stop, because who're flag isn't removed.

She gets pregnant with random Indian guy.

You manually remove trait and flag.

After year she's whore again.

You are pissed off.

You stop trying and let your finest daughter have 999999 bastards.

 

Expansion events were good! Especially when new and interesting characters joined court.

I can't wait to see all new and all old.

You shouldn't need one, DW doesn't change any vanilla files, so they shouldn't conflict. Or do you want to integrate the content of one into the other?

I'm still on target for releasing an update later tonight (it's just reached midday here, so time zone your expectations accordingly).

 

Note: The Reborn update is NOT save game compatible (due to an added trait).

 

Here's the present change log for what should be released.

 

v1.39 (Dark World ReMeDy Custom Portraits)
    - Updated the mod dependency to point to Dark World Reborn v1.45
    - Added Neko related images in positions 469 to 494
    - Three of those images aren't used in random assignments, as they're intended for specific characters in future events

v1.45 (Dark World Reborn)
    - Updated the Neko Campaign start to where it will now assign your player a random portrait, just like how you get a random portrait when starting a werewolf campaign (14 female, 9 male)
    - Added a new hereditary trait - heterochromia
 

There may be more, but I'm recovering from binge watching season 1 of Stranger Things yesterday/last night.
