TriggerBlade Posted February 12, 2017 Posted February 12, 2017 Side note: I do intend on bringing the Brothel Expansion event chain back in some form. Someone should inform Toska.
dewguru Posted February 12, 2017 Author Posted February 12, 2017 Side note: I do intend on bringing the Brothel Expansion event chain back in some form. Someone should inform Toska. I don't play with any of the sub-mods, which means that content conflicts may definitely arise as I build up Reborn. And while I don't object to anyone bringing it to Toska's attention, I would recommend that Toska - or any other mod owner who has similar content - see's what I end up releasing and then makes a decision about whether or not to make a change. Simply because they may not like what I use, and so their version would be fine to continue using (even if it's my old material). For example - I've been looking at adding some mermaid content due to Ariel and some artwork I found that I'd like it use. I think that may end up making life interesting for Noxbestia - but I wouldn't expect it to result in an automatic ditching of content. Plus - let's face it, there's a lot that I'd like to do, but so little of it ever actually gets done.
dewguru Posted February 12, 2017 Author Posted February 12, 2017 Alright, posted the new ReMeDy custom portrait pack (1.39), since I'm not going to tweak it any more today. Still poking at DW Reborn 1.45. It's still going to be posted before I go to bed tonight, but I'm looking at adding in a Vampire campaign start option, so you can begin as a vampire.
ngppgn Posted February 12, 2017 Posted February 12, 2017 @Dewguru, are you aware of an exploit with the Blood Moon, where, if you don't have prisoners to sacrifice, the events occur in a time short enought that the feast end during June, and thus you can have two Blood Moons during the same year? Also, are there any chance of the spell to grant immortality coming back? And have you thought of using a variable for spell cost rather than piety?
dewguru Posted February 12, 2017 Author Posted February 12, 2017 @Dewguru, are you aware of an exploit with the Blood Moon, where, if you don't have prisoners to sacrifice, the events occur in a time short enought that the feast end during June, and thus you can have two Blood Moons during the same year? Also, are there any chance of the spell to grant immortality coming back? And have you thought of using a variable for spell cost rather than piety? Yes, I'm aware that if you jump on the Blood Moon event early enough, and if the situation is right, it can be repeated. I'm not worried about it at the moment. Yes, an immortality spell shall return. I was more interested in seeing how the new trait was handled by the Reaper DLC, but I don't think it's an issue bringing the spell back. Yes, I've thought of using a different variable, however, I've chosen to stay with piety because I tried another system originally and didn't like how it worked - and I like how it works presently, with the concept that most magic is based on building your spiritual power, and then basically burning it as you bend the laws of the world. I'm planning on a few different variations though, for example - what I'm looking at for angels would work a bit differently. Where instead of burning away, they'd have to reach a certain level of piety, and then they could pray for a blessing (spell). This wouldn't reduce their piety, yet they'll have a limiter (cool down) as to how often they can pray and have their blessings answered. For those who'd opt to play an angel, I'd like to have temptations made available that could whittle down your piety. So if you're always giving in, then you'll find it difficult to use their blessings. Of course, that's assuming that folks won't cheat and simply pop open the console commands and give themselves some free piety. Which is also why I don't worry too much about little exploits like the Blood Moon one. For if folks really wanted to, they can manually trigger the Blood Moon outside of the decision window anyway.
KoreSia Posted February 12, 2017 Posted February 12, 2017 Are you planning on bringing back the religions that were introduced by your original mod? Also, given the new DLC coming out, Monks and Mystics, are you planning on incorporating or adding to your mod in in someway? Thanks for the hard work
dewguru Posted February 13, 2017 Author Posted February 13, 2017 Are you planning on bringing back the religions that were introduced by your original mod? Also, given the new DLC coming out, Monks and Mystics, are you planning on incorporating or adding to your mod in in someway? Thanks for the hard work I answered this on the previous page. Short answer - I'm interested in the secret society aspect of the new DLC, and depending on how that works out will depend on what kind of form the Lilith religion takes (secret society vs open religion).
dewguru Posted February 13, 2017 Author Posted February 13, 2017 Reborn 1.45 will be posted in the coming hour. Here's the change log. v1.45 (Dark World Reborn) - Updated the Neko Campaign start to where it will now assign your player a random portrait, just like how you get a random portrait when starting a werewolf campaign (14 female, 9 male) - Added a new hereditary trait - heterochromia - Added a new campaign start option (located in the Game Rules screen), where you can begin as a Vampire. - Added a Crown law (cannot be tribal or nomad) where a player can activate Jus Primae Noctis, which can be risky as it's not a popular law.
rilaxx Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 Hi!! First of all, I've just started playing with DW and want to say, It's amazing! I love it. I just have a question. Does the Child of Lilith campaign ends once your character dies? Because once his heir is on the thrones, I don't see the blood moon ritual or the dark dream events? Thank you in advance for your help!
JesusKreist Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 It does not end. Blood Moon is only available if the character you are playing is a succubus or incubus. When your heir is born and s/he does not have this trait (it is visible right from birth) you'll need to dispose of this heir the "usual way" as there is no Dark Dream to become succubus/incubus after the first at game start. In the original Dark World there was a book buyable in the Exotic Emporium which triggers a Dark Dream Event, but this isn't in Reborn (yet).
ngppgn Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 Bug report: The alter appearance spell (as incubus at least) only takes effect the first time you use it. Afterwards, if you use i again and choose another option the portrait stays the same. This can be solved by making all portrait types opposites of all the others, of manually removing all portrait traits whenever you add one of them to a character. Edit: The "Hire a Court Jester" decision should not be visible if you already have Harley/the Joker as a court jester.

This can be solved by making all portrait types opposites of all the others, of manually removing all portrait traits whenever you add one of them to a character. Edit: The "Hire a Court Jester" decision should not be visible if you already have Harley/the Joker as a court jester. Are you certain that Harley or the Joker still have the Court Jester title? The only time I've seen the Hire a Court Jester decision reappear is when the minor title somehow gets switched off for them (which is very easy apparently, especially if you give them another position - and I believe I've seen where marriage removed it on Harley). The decision is just supposed to check if the minor title is in use or not. So if you really wanted to, you could 'farm' jesters by hiring one, then removing the title, then doing the event again. As to why I wouldn't 'fix' that - it comes down player control. In other words, it's an individuals decision if they wish to exploit it, or simply correct/ignore the option. (By correct I mean they reassign the Court Jester title within the game). Regarding making all the portrait types opposites of each other - I've no desire to even cut and paste some 519 traits as opposites, 520 times. And the Alter Appearance spell isn't an error as you've described it. If you go to use the spell a second time - and you already have the trait - then you should see a new option that appears which you'd need to use first - which is removing the custom portrait. Removing the custom portrait option costs no piety - so if you're low, you can remove it and still have piety left to then cast and select your new one. Based on your explanation - it sounds like you're not using the remove option, and are just attempting to add a new one on top of it. I just did a test of the Alter Appearance spell for an Incubus, and I was able to successfully cast it to alter my appearance. Then cast it to remove the customization (at no cost - so it's a free action to remove). And then cast it again to apply a new appearance.
Quillon Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 Dew? Could you please upload 1.44 version to the page? Its kinda hard to play with submods, since most of them arent updated yet.
JesusKreist Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 Cel? Do you know you can open the .mod file and change the dependancies? The only thing possibly preventing submods from working is that they demand a differently named mod. You have a keyboard and fingers. You can fix that as it is not hard or complicated at all. No need to ask someone else to do something for you.
Quillon Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 I know about .mod file editing and dependency, but I wasn't sure, if submods could cause any conflict with newly added content. Since most of them rely on 1.44 And. 1.43 mods.l
JesusKreist Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 From 1.44 to 1.45 only minor stuff was added. ADDED and not changed. One new trait, a new law, a few portraits, a game rule. At max the submods do not react to this stuff but neither is it breaking something nor does it stop working. Only when stuff is added which another mod has implemented by the VERY SAME NAME internally it causes compatability issues. If it does not use the exact same name you would see for instance two seperate pair of tits on a character or a character is double virgin.

bodiefrog Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 I expected to have to use something a bit more unusual. I should have tried notepad before I bothered you.
Mr_Treason Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 Some people use notepad. I like to be more original and use a turkey&swiss sandwhich. This may explain recent bugs in my mod. Or not.

bjc4yw Posted February 14, 2017 Posted February 14, 2017 hi all, is there someone that know how to make a compatibility patch whit the mod ancient religions? Thanck you. You shouldn't need one, DW doesn't change any vanilla files, so they shouldn't conflict. Or do you want to integrate the content of one into the other? i thinck that DW breack the script of vestalis Break how? On a quick glance I don't see anything that would conflict.
Splicer19 Posted February 14, 2017 Posted February 14, 2017 Is it just me or is any one else getting a issue where the Portraits do not change when the Event's fire?
