Hi, maybe a little dumb question... But what abilities or special events do vampires have?

Do they have some special spells or features? Much like succubus.

I'd like to play vampires in my next playthrough, but I'm not sure, because I never played vampires.

Soooooo... that's why I'm asking. I would like know, to what I'm heading.

The answer to your question is:

 

There exist Vampires and an Ancient Vampire.

Just the trait. No spells, no events, no hunt, no nothing.

 

Vampires are present in Dark World but have not one single bit to them.

Vladimir (not playable) goes on a hunt from time to time but that's about it.

Huh, that sucks. I know about some events with vampires... like vampire ball with vampire...

Also about Selena appearing in court... But yeah.

I think, I'll pass on vampire game T_T.

At least I have some suggestions to add.

Let's make vampires great again.

Both events which you remember are from the original Dark World and are not (yet) in Dark World Reborn.

 

If you want an almost fully working Dark World you can always roll back to 2.5.2 patchwise (Steam Properties) and use one of the Rebuild packages from the Opening Post.

There you can experience Vampires, Monster Hunters, Lilith Religion and multiple things more which are not (yet) ported. But you miss out on new things which were recently implemented and when something is going wrong you are on your own as both are neither maintained nor supported.

Awwwww man, that sucks more :/

I mean, yeah, sure, it's okey to have Horse Lords. Still better than conclave. But missing content is really huge. And I don't mean in Dark World, but the Reaper's Due. It isn't the best, gamebreaking expansion, but I like it whole more, than reroll to 2.5.2. Horse Lords are mostly for people , who play nomads...

 

Awwww, man. I really wanted some monster hunters, angels and stuff. I don't miss so much lilithian religion. People can play without it. But some spells were amazing.

 

Plus, I'm testing now submods for Dark World. To be honest, if I was rerolling to 2.5.2 I would rather play Got mod (gonna miss that adult content, but yeah... got mod is got mod)

It's a pity. On 2.6.2 is GoT mod mostly unplayable, so my big time is spent on Dark World.

 

Huh, would some day like to see Dark World in its full glory again.

Apologies in advance, I know this isn't a general support topic but it does seem like my best bet, so...

Does anybody know which file contains the "lover's pox" trait? I'm trying to mod the effects but I can't seem to find it anywhere.

 

edit: nevermind, found it. it goes by the name of "minor_disease_herpes", not "lover's_pox" like the wiki led me to believe

What version of CK2 do I need running for the current DW version? Crashes at start up for me.

Probably even 2.6.2? B3cause it worked for me. But... latest version is most stable to use.

 

Do you have any other mods activated? There can be mod conflict causing crashes.

Is there a way to get the 2.6.X version of Seiji's anime portraits and ReMeDy custom portraits 1.38 to work together? I've been messing with them and the file here but I've had no luck.

Ok, what I did was take that patch that ReMeDy made as the base and the newest version of the custom portraits. I searched the updated version for the GFX folder and copied everything there into the GFX folder into the combined version in my mod directory. Then just for consistency I used the new .mod file and have had no problems with things running properly.

Well, I must be screwing up somewhere, because I get the game's vanilla portraits with the anime bandages for blind characters a few spaces to the right.

I don't like being spoonfed, but do you think you could upload your modified version?

I got it to work, my Steam isn't always willing to cooperate, so restarting it worked. I have to ask though, would this mod work with Geheimnisnacht?

Well buddy, this is huge question. And answer is: It's going to work partially.

Since Dark World isn't modified to be compiable with Warhammer, 100% working capability isn't guaranteed.

You will have probably VERY buggy game, crashes and conflicts. And also, since some vanilla files, also religions and locations aren't present, some content could be missing.

 

Plus also, as with every game with portraits... you will have probably some big problems with portraits.

 

Only thing is... try it, just be sure, to add "dependency = {Warhammer}" to .modd file. (Google out women into about dependencies of mods. Plus mod name must be correct. That above was only example.

 

But... really I'm afraid, you have to choose between one of two. Or... modify whole Dark world to be compiable with Warhammer mod.

Yeah, I actually tried to just run it alongside it. I did manage to get it to start and just before I got into game, it crashed. And portraits were pretty much non-existing. Where do I add the "dependency = {Geheimnisnacht}" in the .modd file?

Yeah... in most mods, portraits are main reason of incompability. But.. Since Warhammer mod (Sorry, but I'm calling it this way. It's original name is way to hard to remember)... is total overhaul, incompatibilities are slightly higher.

 

Where to add it? Directly in new line, under existing text. You have to also modify dependencies of Dark world submods, if you have some.

No problem, I don't remember exactly all I did to the thing or maybe my explanation isn't the best but it's working correctly (as far as I can tell). Just extract to your mod directory as normal, also it includes all my facial offsets I had to put in so faces would load properly. They're in the \Interface\Portrait_Offsets\ directory.

Hey Dew. I'm not sure if this has come across your mind yet, but have you put some thought of using the societies in the upcoming expansion? Depending how moddable they become, it could do a lot for Dark World.

 

Like off the top of my head.

 

The Lilith religion could be a cult depending on if that's easier to program.

 

Vampire and Werewolf societies.

 

A wizard guild for Court and Commerce.

 

I'm sure you have plenty of things you're currently working on, but making use of the new society mechanics could make playing each race more unique than just being a ruler with flavor events.

There are 7 files when "Download" is pressed.

SEVEN files.

 

You can only download one after the other. If you press "Download" besides each file too soon only the last file you clicked on is downloaded.

Where do find the mods? I got core but I can't for the life of mine find the mods.

 

Now a response that doesn't make someone sound like a complete dick.

 

You will find them in the same place you found core. Unless you somehow managed to download a different mod that has core as the name.

 

In case of the scenario where you attempted to download all at once, only the first will be downloaded. You need to wait for the timer to go down.

Actually, Geheimsnacht works for me with this mod (no crashes et cetera) just... the traits and decisions does not show up in the game. Too bad. I mean, Dark World would work absolutely perfect while playing Slaanesh or Atharti characters.

You're right. Well... you know, Dark World world is mostly self-story mod here. If you would put DW into Warhammer or Agot, some parts wouldn't make any sense.

On the other hand, playing through this big mods would be thousand times more enjoyable.

But... there's always hope. Some good souls can modify DW to be fully compiable with one of bigger mods.

DW loads with total conversions like AGOT, Elderkings or Geheimnisnacht only partly working.

Until the Dark World Core.mod file is altered and 

dependancies = { " NAME OF THE MOD " }

is added.

After that DW loads with all traits, decisions and events in the total conversion of choice.

Alright, I'm hoping to have my first stab at the combined DW Reborn mod posted by next weekend.

 

It should do away with the need for all of the separate files, with one exception - the DW Remedy Custom Portraits mod.

 

I'll probably leave the old files up until folks have had a chance to try out and give any feedback on new errors brought about from the changes, plus it'll give those with sub-mods some time to update theirs as well in regards to any dependencies, as there are several changes - including a renaming of breast traits to try and further reduce the conflicts some experienced when running it with the Christianity mod.

Hi, I hope someone can help me with a quick question. I'm combing Darkmod with a custom mod of my own (just adds characters and changes a few title holders, so nothing that should interfere with Dark Mod). In the mod I've tried to add breast sizes to the female characters I've created. 

 

However, I have noticed that while this seems to work most of the time, I get a few characters with two breast traits (the one assigned and a new one) and a couple of them with completely different breast traits then entered, but still only one trait.

 

I'm having difficulty pinning down what the problem is, because a majority of the added breast traits are stable. Any advice would be great, thanks!

Make sure your characters are getting the "dw_boobs_checked" character flag or that can happen.

 

If this is from characters in your history file, you can do something like this:
