  1. View File [CK2] Dark World: Reborn - Updated 18FEB20 Dark World Reborn Requires Crusader Kings 2. In my testing I used version 3.3.2 Part of the Succubus Seduction path uses the Way of Life DLC (you can just opt to not use the Kiss of Seduction if you don't have that DLC) Part of the Societies may call on content from the Monk and Mystics expansion. Mod: Dark World Reborn v1.75 Mod Installation: With the game getting so many new players since it went free to play, I've finally broken down and put together some installation instructions. So now folks can simply be referred to the front page of either the mod download or the support page. Compatibility: The goal of Dark World Reborn will to make it as compatible as possible with other mods, when it is reasonable. Make me aware of an issue and I'll see if it can be addressed. What's in this mod: The intention of Dark World was to be a mix of adult and fantasy elements that could be a very dark period in history. My original mod got away from that a little, and while this one hasn't fully realized that vision yet - it is better represented than it was previously. Of course, if you're not interested in the fantasy elements, there is still other content in the mod - from buildings such as brothels and slave markets, to events such as spending time with your loved one. The fantasy based content can largely be turned on or off as well if you scroll down to the bottom of the Game Rules screen in CK2 that appears when you first start a game. Do you like lots of events? Then this mod is for you! This alpha version is fully functional up to rank 3 (Dominant). Master rank can be reached, but is lacking content Features Join the House of O and complete slave training. Find a dominant partner and submit to becoming their plaything. Become dominant yourself and start collecting a stable of slaves, or just keep the special one. Experience narrative BDSM-Sessions with your slave, or your master. Explore the House of O in over 400 unique events. Joining the House Unconventional erotic practices are not exactly forbidden, but widely frowned upon. As such the House of O does not openly recruit new members, but sends personal invitations to promising individuals. As with any secret society you need to show interest in it for someone to approach you with a careful offer. Other than that, you need only your curiosity, and a healthy interest in carnal pleasures. Start a new game. Savegames that were started without the mod will not work. To be able to show interest in joining, you need to be: An adult Neither tribal nor nomadic Not imprisoned Neither chaste nor celibate Ranks Rank 1 - Slave The first few years you will spend entirely at the House and train to become a good slave. Rank 2 - Servant As a servant you are free to come and go as you please. You may be called upon to keep the House running, and maybe you will find a friend or even something more among the other servants. Rank 3 - Domina / Dominus Not everyone has what it takes, to be a dom. Many are content with staying submissive, but those who rise above enjoy all the benefits the House offers. Rank 4 - Master / Mistress (not yet implemented) The Master or Mistress oversees all the aspects of the House, but they share not their secrets in ensuring the society stays safe and prospers. Powers Offer Submission Offer to become the submissive part in a relationship. Craft Devices Using plans and instructions from the House of O you‘re able to craft restraints, toys, or accessories suiting your fancy. You will additionally need to acquire tools and materials. More learned characters have a higher chance to create quality works. Choose Slave Lifestyle While all members of the House share some common tastes, everyone has their own kinks. With this power you can choose a special lifestyle trait from a list of diverse fetishes. Commission Devices Don't want to work yourself? That's what servants are for. Upon reaching rank 3 in the House, you have the option of commissioning various devices used in your Sessions, paying for them with money or society currency. Dominate What would a dominant character be without the ability to dominate others? It might take some time, but you know just how to coax a lover or spouse into submitting to you. Of course you can also make the slaves and servants at the house yours, and while a slave can only have one master, a dominant can have many slaves. Hold Session Not a society power per se, but a decision any dominant can take to start a session with their submissive lover. It will most commonly become available to you by dominating someone, but is also possible if a member of the House offers submission to you regardless whether you're a member or not.   4. ------------------------------------------------------------------ ReMeDy's Static Portrait Replacer Now no longer requires portrait DLC! ------------------------------------------------------------------ REQUIREMENTS: Crusader Kings II (CKII). No major DLC's required. Incompatible with other mods using property slots found in the portrait_properties.txt file, which thankfully is somewhat rare. ABOUT THE MOD: This mod can swap out CKII's generated DNA in-game portraits for static overlay images using the in-game console. If you're a modder, you can distribute these traits through coded events (ex. Dewguru's Dark World mod and my Game of Thrones submod), or manually load them onto characters in-game. So why did I decide to make this mod? Mainly, out of frustration! Very few mods utilize static portraits, and I wanted to change that. The ones that did were buried deep in overhaul mods, making it cumbersome for other modders to use the code for themselves. For the longest time, I was looking for a mod allowing me to ONLY customize static images as EASY as possible while still experiencing the vanilla CKII experience. From there, I could apply other user mods to exclusively personalize the gameplay, while my portrait mod allowed me an outlet into personalizing my characters for role-playing purposes. The method I use to assign static portraits involves custom traits. The way they work is the custom traits reference a huge gfx file, and within that file are a hundreds of frames. Each frame represents a specific static portrait, so what you're doing is assigning a trait via the in-game console, and that trait points to a portrait/frame in a gfx file. --------------------------------------------- ONLY USE ONE OF THE FOLLOWING OPTIONS!: OPTION #1: TEMPLATE PACK (ver 4.00, from ngppgn): http://www.mediafire.com/file/b8toybrz55xbu4y/ReMeDy_Portrait_Replacer_TemplatePack_ver_4.00.zip This is a version ngppgn put together. I recommend the template pack if you're new to adding your own portraits and don't need to use the portraits in another portrait mod, such as Dark World. Add your 152 x 152 pixel portraits inside the circles located in gfx/static_portraits/remedy_portrait_swapping.dds or any of the other .dds files, then add the corresponding trait via the in-game console. For example, if you add an image to portrait 1, type (case-sensitive) into the in-game console: add_trait portrait1 This is also a great resource for modders, and is what dewguru used for his Dark World mod. Dark World), otherwise you'll run into portrait conflicts. Plus, you don't want to ever modify an existing mod's portraits, because if the modder updates his mod, then it might erase the portraits you added. Please consult the included readme by the author, zia, in the main directory for additional information. Naming my portraits gives me the advantage of not having to consult a naming chart, because as long as I know the character's name, I can fire off their portrait. It's much easier than remembering nondescript names, like portrait23! If that sounds like something you want to try, use this as your template, study my files, and optionally rename anything to your liking. If you prefer the Template Pack naming approach, but still want to use my anime portraits, copy all of my remedy_portrait_swapping.dds files located in the folder gfx/static_portraits, and overwrite those same .dds files in the Template Pack. --------------------------------------------- WANT MORE PORTRAITS? Take these two files and put them in your Crusader Kings II mod directory: Documents/Paradox Interactive/Crusader Kings II/mod 3.) Start CKII. In the launcher that shows before the game loads, go to the "Mod" tab next to the "DLC" tab. Ensure your mod of choice is displayed and checked. Again, only choose one! 4.) Click play, and you're done. The mod is now loaded into your game. 5.) To take full advantage of the mod's features, you must use the in-game console. Read the next section on applying static portraits to characters! --------------------------------------------- HOW TO APPLY A STATIC PORTRAIT: If you want to use one of my anime or real people portraits, all this requires is knowledge of the in-game console. With the mod enabled, pick a character to play. If you're using my Anime Pack, you can use Ruler Designer to select a starting custom portrait. If you do this, keep in mind the portrait swap doesn't take effect until you load onto the world map. The Ruler Designer is limited, since you can only edit your own character, but once in-game, you can also edit AI characters! All of this is accomplished through the console. 2.) Start the game, then hit the ~ key in the top-left of your keyboard to bring up the console where you can type things. 3.) You'll need to type in one of the below command lines to switch your portrait, or the portrait of a computer controlled player. To switch your portrait, depending on the portrait you want, use: add_trait InsertNameOfPortraitHere To change the portrait of a computer controlled player, you must know their character ID. For that, type "charinfo" then hover your mouse cursor over their portrait. New information about that character will be displayed called the debug info. Look for their ID number. With that ID number, type: add_trait InsertNameOfPortraitHere InsertCharInfoIDHere (Note: When assigning portraits, the portrait swap sometimes doesn't happen instantly, depending on what window you're viewing the portrait from. You need to refresh the portrait change by closing the portrait view of the character you edited, then opening the portrait view back up.) 4.) DONE!   10. So I like to see myself as a code dissector. I've downloaded every CK2 mod on this forum and combed through the code to fix and adjust to my liking. For a long time, I was continuously Frankensteining old and new Dark World content until sub-mods started coming out that supplemented the missing content. I also mess with the code of those sub-mods So now I'm starting to see patterns with what's being introduced and how they're being executed. Up until this point, all the sub-mods for DW just expanded content or restored content Dew had stated he wasn't focusing on, which is fine. However, now there are mods that are filling in holes that the core DW mod would eventually be incorporating. I'm not saying this is a bad thing. I enjoy using almost all of the sub-mods and even toy with the less stable mods for fun. I just don't see people thinking about what was a long-term and is now a short-term concern. An example is that we have a mod related to a Lilith cult and one related to Lilith religions. Christianity Mod makes those 50% redundant now that the author has made a simple thing to insert religions to make use of the mod's lustful content. Again this isn't inherently a bad thing. I play with all three mods activated and even worked my dissection skills into basically making them all one mod. I'm just pointing out that things seem like they're on a fast track to having some serious compatibility issues or redundancies and that some folks may want to start thinking about putting in contingencies. Not everyone is like me and can figure out how to edit files to work together better. I don't got much else to say right now, but feel free to share your thoughts. Do you see this as an actual concern? Do you think I'm paranoid? As a mod author do you have plans that scan for mods that are present? As a mod author do you think I'm full of it? The pictures are nought but a bonus... The current odds are rather low (10 %), but you are able to spam the decision. How to use: You must play as a male, be an adult and not imprisoned, while the target of your desires must be either your wife, consort or lover. AGoT's characters are pre-generated, so when a new game starts, all characters automatically receive their respective portraits. These portraits operate off custom traits. These traits are purely cosmetic and strictly for assigning portraits. The way they work is the custom traits reference five huge .gfx files, and within the files are several frames. Each frame represents a specific portrait. The mod assigns traits, and those traits point to a portrait/frame in one of five .gfx files. --------------------------------------------- REQUIREMENTS & INCOMPATIBILITIES: 1.) Requires the AGoT base mod (ver 1.2.0). 2.) Do not use this mod with other mods sharing portrait_properties.txt in the interface folder. 3.) This is necessary due to a limitation in CKII's treatment of children's portraits. 2.) Scars, blinded_eyes (eyepatches), red dots, boils, and the multiplayer purple GFX have been DISABLED. This is a side-effect to getting my portraits to work. This does not mean those traits have been removed; only that I removed the gfx associated with them! 3.) When picking a custom character on the world map with a portrait, you can't apply cosmetic changes to the DNA character underneath, because the portrait hides what you're changing. I don't have a solution to this, but honestly, you shouldn't be cosmetically changing these characters anyways, as it might break the game. Just pick the character and load in with their portrait. 4.) This mod is capped at 130 portraits. That's currently more than enough to fulfill the entire show's content, including all minor characters, but as the seasons progress, I may have to axe minor characters in favor of major ones. 5.) AGoT's mod is based on the book and not the show, so it conflicts with certain portraits. For example, Xaro Xhoan Daxos and Salladhor Saan are black in the TV show, but not in the mod/book! Regardless, I assigned them their show's character portraits. Furthermore, some characters do not exist in the mod at all, because they weren't in the book, and some character names are different from the book over the show! Some characters who don't exist in the mod that exist in the show are: Myranda, Olly, and Violet. Some names different from the TV show and the book are: Talisa Maegyr (TV) = Jeyne Westerling (Book) Yara Greyjoy (TV) = Asha Greyjoy (Book) Reek (TV) = Is NOT Theon Greyjoy (Book) There's probably more subtle differences, but my point is, I understand the mod doesn't match the book. I also don't want to start a war between TV show viewers and book readers. If you're a book loyalist who hates the TV show, simply don't download this mod. --------------------------------------------- FAQ: Q. You forgot a character. You also forgot the Forresters. A. If I forgot a character, let me know, but even so, I need to find a decent portrait of them from the show, and they need to actually be in the game for me to add them. Remember, if the character isn't in the book, they won't be in the mod! As for the Forresters, I know I could add their video game characters, but the artwork would clash with the other faces added from the show and would seem too jarring, so I'm ignoring them. For other characters, I understand I could use artwork, or even cosplay, but nope, I'm keeping this mod exclusive to the TV show characters, for consistency. Q. Is this Ironman compatible? A. Yes, but the console is disabled in Ironman mode, so you cannot manually assign or remove portraits. What you see is what you get. Q. Can I obtain achievements using this? A. No, because this mod alters the checksum, due to the integration of custom traits. Even though my traits don't add any stats and are purely cosmetic, CKII has no way of distinguishing this. Q. I'm mid-way into a save. Can I still change the character portraits? A. Yes, don't mix up the artwork, otherwise you'll traits referencing incorrect portraits! For example, if you want to edit Theon, replacing him with another portrait of Theon is fine, but if you turn Theon's portrait into a different person, that could be messy. Q. Can I use this as a stand-alone mod for vanilla CKII? A. My portrait pack doesn't work with vanilla; however, I will release a separate stand-alone mod, compatible with vanilla CKII, once I know this mod works for everyone. Of course, you'll need to manually assign portraits when you use it. I'll release it later. Q. Can I add my own portraits to this? A. Yes, my mod supports up to 130 portraits, and there are still 23 empty portrait slots, so feel free to fill them! When I add more characters, I'll work from left to right, so I recommend you start at portrait 130 and work right to left, so we don't conflict with each other! You need an art program to edit .dds files, like Photoshop w/ a .dds plugin, or GIMP. Open my .dds files in the gfx folder, and fit a portrait into one of the empty circles. (Optional, if you don't want to, don't answer) Why would you like to see them? From what universe would they be like? Specify race and their role in Crusader Kings II. There were great expansions, there were some miserable. But this one, shapes as one of the greatest, because modding community can do miracles. Paradox found a way, how player can rule even more things... and most of all... lead secret wars. Rule the world from shadows. And engage cult/society conflicts. But also... Treasures! Finally people can kill time by collecting items! Finally we can have items, what aren't modifiers or traits. Even stealable ones! And this are just main features. This brings main reason of the topic. As mostly adult content is based on Dark World and Dark World submods, maybe in future we can see this societies and Treasures. But... what societies do you imagine in game? What treasures? KEEP IN MIND, this is just a discussion, not actual future content!   16. Oops! I went about this the wrong way. Please go here Over the past year I have written several submods for Dark World, but I never got any of them to a point where I was willing to share them. Recently I decided to take them all and mash them together and to try to get a working framework going. It is my goal to make the alpha release of this live before the weekend is over. Making this announcement is my way of further pressuring myself to do this.

  18. This is an improved pregnancy system that better takes into account both partners' fertility scores. By itself, this mod does not do anything though I have left the testing files in it so they can be activated. The mod takes 50% of the fertility score of each partner and adds them together. So long as neither partner has less than 0.01 fertility, a pregnancy chance between 1 and 100 is generated and rolled against (in 10% increments). A combined score of 100 guarantees pregnancy. Additionally, ultra-low scores (a combined fertility of less than 10%) have a 1% chance of conception. I hope you enjoy. NoxBestiaFertility-v0.20.7z
