Ok, this is likely not the group to ask this question to as the music I like is really ........wide ranging.   However, I believe that Karen Carpenter had one of the best voices that I have ever heard.    Am I biased or just haven't judged other singers fairly?

 

I was wondering if others think the same, as youtube comments are decidedly one sided, though I found out that her drumming ability was thought to be as good or better than her singing.

It's a matter of tastes really. I think she has a beautiful voice. But I have also heard others that I like just as much or better. Depends on the melody too.

Imo her voice is nothing special, at least on this song. But everyone is biased with voice tastes. And depends what one seek in a voice.

Nothing special doesn't mean much either. You take Chet Baker, yep, it's "nothing special", until it is, cause having a pretty voice isn't all

Like, I think Ella got the prettiest voice ever, but heck I'd pick Dinah Washington or Billie over her anytime

Like i'd pick Sammy Davis over Sinatra

But honestly, you know who got the best voice ?
