Or maybe some dusty professor on PBS is decrying teenage suicides and the depersonalization of the internet as a reason (but I fell asleep)

Also getting way past sick and tired of what seems like an increasing amount of cartoon cannibal porn popping up on the cartoon/anime sites I go to.  I get it, it is fantasy, but could we please stick to fantasy that is at least slightly believable? Not every single woman wants to be thoroughly fucked then murdered. And no, I don't care how many air holes you drilled into that spit, she is going to die from blood loss due to the fact that you just ruptured multiple internal organs, That twitching isn't her having multiple orgasms, it is intense pain from stomach acid leaking throughout her torso.  Yes I could go on, but I'm making myself ill just thinking about this.

I think what bothers me so much (aside from the obvious) is that most of these artists are talented. The kind of talented that, to me at least, they ought to be able to make a living off their art if the subject matter was less extreme.

Gore has always been one of those fetishes that's bothered me but there's a lot of people that are into it, like vore other stuff like that. I have my own weird kinks so I can't judge but I do my best to avoid 'em, it's not that hard on the internet. Stuff like that, like the toilet-related ones, I just don't care for but as long as it's not pushed on me it's not a problem. Unless I'm actively tricked into watching anime that includes that I won't be pissed. For example, Kill la Kill having a super funny lewd fighty theme and suddenly having an elongated molestation scene. I never finished that anime, never cared to try it again and I was having a lot of fun with it at first.

One thing you gotta consider though is that because these things are rare and rather extreme people with fetishes for them will pay a lot more to commission art like that.

A friend of mine makes her living as an artist and she tried to stop making furry porn a year or two ago, raised her rates to deter commissions for that specifically, without cutting them off entirely because people might get upset across the board, and people kept making requests. The money was good so she kept going but barred specific things like inflation or vore. That's just how it is. I'm glad most porn sites have a working tag system so I can avoid bad things, pururin.io even has a Blacklist system so you don't see, or more easily avoid, stuff you don't like and stuff you do like can be highlighted for you.

It happens sometimes regardless of skills. If you've ever did figure drawing you'd see how easy it is to lose track of scaling. Sometimes you'll draw the whole arm flawlessly and you're feeling all good about it only to find out that the fingers are way too tiny and the palm is way too broad, so you now have to redo the whole forearm to reset the scale for the wrist size to make sense. It's one of the most frustrating things and to top it off, sometimes people don't even notice things until they're halfway into shading so at that point it's either "Oh fuck time to roll back 3 hours of work" or "fuck this shit i'll go through with it". lol

They would, but space is just so big that it takes longer than this universe can support life. Which is a microscopic amount of the entire time the universe lasts.

 

Realizing sizes and distances seems to be a common problem people have with space-related things. Can't really blame anyone for that, though. After all, we are evolved from savannah apes that only needed to realise the distance to the closest tree in case a lion attacks, not to understand that almost everything they see on night the sky is ancient history.

Because the pull isn't infinite. Blackholes are simply objects that are crushed beyond their schwarzschild radius and as a result can bend and keep light from leaving their pull, that doesn't mean they can pull in the whole universe which is inconceivably larger than the observable universe which by itself is also inconceivably larger than all the black holes combined. The disks or rings around black holes are simply the bent light above the event horizon, the source of that light is long gone but can't be observed because the redshift can't make it out of the pull.

Others kinda got to the point but also a black hole isn't a hole, it's just a really dense and hungry space dot. It still has a max reach, and space is unfathomably large.

It's not a tear in the fabric of reality. I feel like its name also adds to people having trouble understanding them to the point where some think it's portals to other places.

Anyway, we know they exist but taking pictures of them is incredibly difficult because they have so much of a gravitational pull that even light gets sucked in.

We only have one picture so far and to even get that took an international effort and 5 petabytes(I think) of data they had to make sense of.

I think the reason it bothers me, at least in terms of what I see as subjectively "good" art, is that I have no art skills at all. (This is true for pretty much my entire family.) So I'll see something that I think looks really well done but then the subject matter is just something that is flat out gross.  My other problem being the almost complete and total lack of logic to the content.

Example from a story I read years ago below, skip if you want, kinda dumb and weird/gross.

Eighteen year old girl gets taken to snuff/cannibal club by parents, she is the oldest of their nine children. She is in high school, never said but I assume US.  Seems to have a normal (nothing crazy or extreme as compared to other people her age) background/upbringing/family life.  Gets to club and told to strip by parents. Mother strips as well. Father then proceeds to take her virginity totally out of nowhere. He also talks to a friend and buys friends daughter to take home; not much older than his own daughter, 20-21 iirc. Mother and daughter then are part of the nights "dance competition" where they get to try and hold themselves up for as long as possible before they hang. Both live. Those that don't will be cooked and eaten. Mother and daughter then auctioned off. Daughter bought to be used as a model for sex toys. Mother bought by the club for use in the nights live cannibal hunt. (I stopped reading there, which was a good long time after I should have.)

2. There are 8 more kids at home but both the mother and eldest daughter are not coming home from the night out.  Who is coming home? Some random girl that is barely older than the oldest daughter who is going to replace the mother.  With the oldest at 18 that means the youngest is likely between five and eight. How is dad going to explain this? Suddenly this girl you've never seen before is your mom/older sister/caretaker.  "Where's mom and sister?" "I ate mom and sold your sister." "Okay." Yeah I don't buy that, it doesn't fit the in story logic.

3. Daughter is/was still in high school, now suddenly is sold off to this old couple to be used to model sex toys for their store/catalog (story was old, written when paper catalogs were still more common). How is dad going to explain to school that his daughter has just up and vanished? Okay sure she's an adult and could probably drop out if she wanted to, but there are still going to be questions from teachers or friends as to why she is just gone. Again, doesn't fit the narrative presented about the family to this point.

4.  There is no indication from the daughter's perspective that her parents would be involved with anything like this. She is all of a sudden told by her parents to do things that, under other circumstances they would never tell her to do or want her to do, based on the idea that this is to all appearances a "normal" family.  Having a few family skeletons in the closet isn't unusual; creating those skeletons by killing or selling off family members is a bit farther out there.
