Deviously Cursed Loot LE 9.0 (2021-03-09)

Just played though the cursed collar quest. Absolutely loved it, it was the most fun i had with Skyrim in a long time.

That being said, there where three minor issues.

1. Some of the locations got used twice and some i had already cleared out beforehand.

2. At one time the chest was invisible and i could not interact with it. Save and reload fixed it.

3. I was playing a succubus( http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/63737/? this one to be precise) and the collar did not like the wings. It thought they where clothing. Things got relay bizarre when i transformed while a punishment was being administered as it would reload game and put me back at some point where i last entered a cell, although it might have been an autosave that got loaded not 100% sure what happened. Still strange. Anyways is there something that can be done on the DCL side of things to prevent this? Like a manual override for the collar?

Re: #3 - The reason you get punished while transforming is likely an issue with the succubus mod you are using having armor/clothing keywords on stuff it tries to equip you with (horns/tails ect).  It will probably cause you to die when you wear any of the punishment collars in this mod, as I'm fairly certain they all look at keywords for items your character has equipped to see if anything is clothing or armor.  For instance, the collars won't punish other devious devices or jewelry.

 

The easiest way to solve this would probably be to open your succubus mod up with TES5Edit and remove any armor/clothing keywords on the items it uses.  Likely the mod itself doesn't need them.  Of course, changing a mod is at your own risk, so keep a save and the original mod as backups if something breaks horribly.

I don't know if this is fixable aside from reloading an earlier save (which I really don't want to do), but I ended the Cursed Collar quest early after it hit me, the whole SetStage command thing to finish it, and realized that according to it's quest progression, was still "active", so no events could occur. Is there any way to restart the events without reloading a previous save?

 

Try setting it to 1000. This should automatically shut down the quest.

 

That being said, people should not expect things not to break when they manually alter quest stages. ;)

Did you experience a bug with this quest? If yes, what happened?

 

Oh no, there no bugs with the quest itself as far as I know, I just never fully turn off cursed loot during some playthroughs. I know I SHOULD set cursed collar event to 0 if I don't want to get it, but sometimes I do want that as a possible event. It's just that sometimes, I'll be in the middle of something I don't want to deviate from, Cursed Collar starts, I don't feel like going to all the locations to finish the quest, and I just want to get past that particular quest at the moment. Or my save was really far back and I get super depressed at having to redo some things if I want to reload a save. It's something I'll have to remember myself when this happens again. I know manually altering quest stages and anything else in the game for that matter isn't supposed to be done at all, I had just hoped that whatever it is in that quest that disables the rest of the loot events would be lifted if it was set to finished. Logically, you'd think it would  :P but hey, it's also a learning experience.

 

As to the setting the stage to 1000, I did do that, and in my journal it says it's completed, but even when the chance for a cursed loot event happens at 100%, as it showed in the debug menu, still nothing happened. I did try multiple times to see if something was up with my % chance happening, with different containers and such, but no new event happened after that. I actually also tried ResetQuest bringing it back to stage 0 and making it active in my journal again, tried going through it all again, and still nothing.

 

Worst comes to worse, I'll just disable CL, make a new save, and enable again. I know I'll lose w/e devices and all, but I'd rather not start a new playthrough just because of this. Also, this is an odd place to put this, but I just gotta say, I do love the work you do. You put so much of the things I love into CL.  :heart:

To be fair, the collar buff made me so ridiculously strong i was thinking of just keeping it. ;)

Hi Kimy,

 

Would you consider an option that would restrict devices added to those which might be considered "medieval" appropriate? I love the mod but also try to keep my skyrim somewhat lore friendly (just full of slavery and sexism).

 

So the only devices that would get equipped are basic leather and steel restraints, especially the heretic ones, which are awesome.

 

Looking forward to seeing the new heretic restraints added too :-)

Something weird happened to me on new save i can only find slave/shock/full sets literally every event except standard items before i had like 3% chance to find and it was just fine right now i have like 10% and no standard items event happening, i set standard items weight to like 199 and rest events to like 1-2 still no standard item events ;/ Any idea how to fix it ? Thx!

I absolutely love the new slave princess start!  Really neat addition.  I saw a few people post earlier about getting a devious devices popup error saying something about a conflicting device.  I was having this error too and I think I fixed whatever was causing it in my game so I wanted to share everything I did on the off chance it helps someone else. TLDR at the bottom. 

 

When I started a new game the first time, I went with the slave princess start and because I didn't know what I was doing I immediately started talking to the slaver infront of the cage which resulted in a second load screen popping up pretty quickly.  The second time I started a new game I waited much longer before triggering the second load screen.  So maybe the first time I didn't give skyrim enough time to initialize things properly?  When I updated this mod, I updated a few other mods as well.  I found one of them, Things in the Dark, was causing conflicts with Milk Mod Economy, so I uninstalled that mod.  Then, while looking through my notes, I realized I forgot to install Devious Devices Equip which was a new requirement for the latest Prisoners overhaul patch if you had Devious Devices, so I installed that.  Then I started a new game and have played all the way up to killing the first dragon and haven't gotten the weird popup.

 

TLDR:

-Waited, possible giving things time to initialize, before talking to the first slaver in the new princess starting option

-Uninstalled Things in the Dark

-Installed Devious Devices Equip to fulfill the new Prisoners Patch Overhaul requirement for people with DDs

 

Side Note:  I saw a quickfix that used startquest/resetquest console commands on here, I tried that and It only seemed to keep the problem away temporarily (I wonder if it's because things are reset again after finishing the starting princess quest?).

 

Possible Bug Unrelated to the rest of the post: OH god, I need to shut up.  I noticed in my second playthrough that the armbinder for the princess quest seemed to be unequipped incorrectly.  After removing all the bound princess items, sneaking would cause my character's arms to go behind her back like she was still wearing an armbinder even though she wasn't.  I got around this by equipping a new Cursed loot armbinder and then removing it via normal means.

That's the most important thing, and something people often underestimate. Generally, when starting a new game, I'd recommend waiting at least a minute before doing anything, so mods have time to run their init scripts. That's not a DCL specific problem, that's a general advice for running modded Skyrim.

If using LAL (which most players do these days), let all the notifications scroll though, save the same, reload the game, fire up all mods that need manually initialization, take your time to adjust all MCM settings to your liking, save/reload again, and only then talk to Mara.

no ...the full leather suit that leon uses or used in rubber doll..??the bodyslide version of it please ??

There is no leather suit in DCL. I am confused. The items in DCL are pretty much all latex/rubber/"ebonite".

When I read this before, having it be cell-based (akin to dominant Sasha's decision to tie you up in and near cities/settlements, if I correctly understand how that feature works) made more sense than basing it on detection of other people. Sure, bandits are people too, but you probably have bigger concerns than your modesty when dealing with them!

 

Or would this still be too performance-intensive due to something else the cover-when-naked feature does?

 

(This isn't an item of major interest to me, I'm just trying to help.)

i am still getting the device error, running DCL6.1, DDA3.0e, DDx2.0c, DDi 3.3b, HR 1.51, ZAP 6.11 and ZEP 1.08, and CD 4.08 and ZAZ resources 1.1a.

 

I also have angrim apprentice 2.11, devious cidhna 1.8, sexlab dialogues 28, SL amorous adventures 3.04, SL stories 082, SL stories devious 082a, dibella sisterhood 132 (and sisters 132), and SL solutions 5.05 installed.

 

i have played the game for many hours with DCL 5.8 with no problems with the rest of these mods . it is only when i install DCL 6.1 and do the slave princess quest start that i get the device error, and wonder if there are items in DCL 6.1 causing the conflict. I have attached a pic of my character in slaver hideout with the error popping up. If I play DCL6.1 and do another start (ie camping near helgen) i can play for hours without the error.

Lots of people have complained about that error, but not a single person getting this error has posted a log yet. So I don't think anyone has any idea of why the error occurs yet.

For everybody having problems with bodyslide (especially CBBE, i think UUNP too):

When you chose groups, click at "unassigned" as well. Several items appearently aren't in a group, and there's everything else. Make sure you really edit only the items you want because there's really everything else, including perhaps other bodies used in other mods etc. To reduce the item list a bit, you can first build for all other groups and for unassigned after that.

i have had some time today and was going item to item through bodyslide and adaptet them for my bodyshape but i still dont get the belly to grow on the suits.

full list of all suits with no belly growth in cbbe install version: transparent rubebrsuit, exhibitionistsuit, slaverubbersuit, rubbersuit, rubberdollsuit, armored rubbersuit (every type and color)

 

its very odd if you get locked in a misogyny belt and search for keys, getting locked up into a suit and the pregnant belly from beeing female disappears, same for any other nio operating belly expansion.

Love this mod, just fantastic. It just does everything.

 

I have had this same issue occur with every version though. I set combat rape result "left in wilderness" to 0, but it still happens all the time. This escape from bondage minigame is probably the only part of it I don't like and I can't stop it from doing it.

I did a fresh install of my Skyrim everything. Now I seem to have a problem of a certain unremoveable pink armbinder.. I don't know if it's because of Cursed Loot or not..yet.. I need to investigate. 

 

By the way, do you know does it matter which order I install my mods in?

Please tell me you are kidding when you ask that question.

 

If you aren't, here's the answer:   LOOT

 

Use it, then start a new game.  Discard your present game if you've never used LOOT on it before;  it *almost* certainly (well, ignore the *almost*) will be thereafter unusable.  Actually, it will be end up being unusable anyway.

 

You are also well advised to create both a TES5Edit Merged Patch and a Bashed Patch, the latter created with WryeBash, before you start your new game.  Search GamerPoets and Gopher on YouTube for excellent videos on the use of LOOT, TES5Edit, and WryeBash. 

 

Use a modded game without those tools at your own risk, understanding that ultimately without them failure is inevitable.
