I don't think DD or any of it's related mods are the problem but I'm have a long standing issue that I'm simply trying to resolve and it's linked to the DD mod.  Whenever my character is forced or voluntarily wears any kind of footwear from the mod her bodyscale increases.  I can reset the scale by simply opening up "showracemenu" in the console but it's jarring to do this so often.  Also and recently when wearing footwear while a sex scene would play her body would scale.  No, I do not have the sexlab even actor's heights activated.  It may be relevant to add that typically my characters are designed to be a little shorter than average.

 

Anyway, I'm posting this problem here hoping somebody else has had this happen and found a solution.  Thanks.

Hmm... that's interesting. I seem to have exactly the opposite problem with my shorter than average characters. What I see is that on game load, their bodyscale is increased and that equipping any Devious (or other HDT?) footwear resets it to what it should be. I do not get bodyscale changes at other times through, just on game load.

 

The "showracemenu" reset also works for me and is similarly annoying, but at least I only need to do it once (when not wearing DD boots).

Yes, we could use a few more DD quest mods.  They are not easy to design.  You want fun, just the right amount of annoying (whatever amount that is for any given player on any given day , and not hijack the whole game.

 

At the risk of teasing something which I might not ever get around to, I have a concept centered on Enthir (they guy at the College who says "You need something you're not officially supposed to have, you come see me.").  It involves a set of highly enchanted restraints.  No time frame, no guarantee that I'll ever get around to it.  That's all I'm going to say about it until it's in process of becoming real.

 

I wish there were a way to demystify modding creation enough that more people would try it.  In spite of the tutorials only a few do.

I started modding a month ago and released my first mod some days ago. I agree that getting started is not easy. The DD stuff is well documented, but not easy to understand for a newcomer. I was lucky that Kimy and Veladarius helped me out. I wouldn't have been able to figure it out without their help. It also doesn't help that the DD guides in the wiki are outdated.

Looking for some help here.  

 

Everytime I install Devious Devices Integration 4.1, then run FNIS, the run animation of my character changes to some kind of bound, "hopping" animation.  The walking animation with shift key is also affected.   The only way to get rid of this is to uninstall DDI, and run FNIS again.   sprinting is not affected.   It appears that DDI is overwriting the base running animation files?  I understand if it wants to change the running animation during a bondage animation scene, but why is it doing this during base, vanilla, gameplay?  I attached a short video to show the problem.  It turns out that several of the npc's/followers are also suffering from this animation problem during regular game play.  

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you..

 

Update!!  Ok, so I fixed this issue.  If anyone else out there is experiencing the same problem, for me it had to do with the FNIS Sexy Move mod, and the 360 Move animation mod.  The solution to fix this for me was to go into FNIS Sexy Move via MCM and uncheck the 360 Move option.  Exit out of the mcm menu.  Then you can go back into FNIS SExy Move and reenable the 360 Move option.  Hope this helps others..

I remember in an older version that once your arms were bound, you were greeted with a pop-up message giving you options to either, "Struggle Break Free Carry On", and now I can open my inventory menu and all but now can't interact with items. Is there an option somewhere in the MCM, or was that just a change made in the later version to make the game a tad easier so you could at least look at your inventory.

This is intentional, as now to unlock/struggle out of heavy restraint devices you need to try to remove them from your inventory window - the "struggle" button is gone.  It also makes these items more consistent gameplay wise, since before you could just do weird crap like loot a barrel to check your inventory while wearing an armbinder.

I have a question about animation tags in Devious Devices. When my character is wearing a yoke or armbinder, how does the framework decide what sexlab animation to use? I want to install the latest Billyy's SLAL Animations pack that has some nice yoke animations in it but I'm not sure if DD Framework will treat them as yoke-friendly? I know that it considers Sexlab tags, but I don't know if DD-related tags do exist in Sexlab animations.

For sex animations DD exclusively use it's own internal animation registry, and SLAL packs do not get added there.

So there is no way to add animations to DD internal registry, unless they will be added by the next DD update? From a user perspective, not skilled in mod creation.

I'm pretty sure Kimy saw those yoke animations and said that she was going to use them for the next DD update.

Billyy's new yoke animations are a part of DD already. I merged them to the dev repo a couple weeks back, or so.

So, I'm having trouble with the quests in this. I've played through them in previous versions. However now they seem to be non exsistant. In the quest tab of the mcm there is nothing.  The forbidden bookshelf is in game. But no quests. Help please

They were removed in DD4. The only thing the book in the forbidden bookshelf does now is teach you how to craft Devious Devices (and keys).

So, in previous versions you were able to speak even if you had a gag on as long as you got lucky with the 'speech checks'. However, whenever I try to speak to someone (as of the latest version of this mod, 4.1), I get the [you realize it's impossible to talk through the gag] speech option which just ends dialogue. Can I somehow revert it to the old system? I don't see an option for it in the mod's MCM.

The ballgag has gotten a lot more punishing lately and I don't think you can change that in the MCM.

You could use Deviously Cursed Loots gag talk system and set it's succesrate to 100%.

I have an issue with with certain objects in Devious Devices, 

 

I use DD with FTM however when I find any of the Plugs (V or A) and loot them, when I try to find them in my inventory, they have disappeared

Well, then I think if what you said is true then the newest update 'breaks' a few quest mods that expect you to speak to someone to progress. For instance, in Devious Cidhna there's a follow-up quest where you're sold to a few pirates located inside Dainty Sload. You're supposed to be able to speak to him in order to be able to escape, or even progress with the quest period, except he equips you with a gag as soon as you arrive, which normally isn't problematic since in the old system you could just try until you got the gag debuff, now you can't even do that. I 'fixed' this issue by struggling until I got out of all my devious devices until it finally allowed me to struggle and therefore unequip the gag. Immersion breaking or whatever, but at least it's a way out.

Could anyone tell me what the issue here is?

I can install the DD Assets without issue, but anytime I install the DD Integration and run FNIS I get CTD's .Im no expert at modding this game, but I managed to get the game running flawlessly with well over 250 mods merged together. I just cant for the life of me get the game to run with  DDI installed. I suck at reading papyrus logs so I would appreciate anyone who might be able to point me in the right direction regarding what the issue is I would appreciate it. ?

?You could be a bit more specific on when and where you get CTD's.

Next question is "old game with suddenly added DD" or did you start a new game (you should) ?

 

And if all else is showing a green light - the current most favorite reason for CTD is that you might have jumped over the amount of bearable animations and alternate animations for your installation.

Your FNIS output might be helpful to comment on that.

 

I trust by your mod merging, you are aware that not all mods merge well together? And that their sequence in the merges as well as the load order of your merge-esp's is a delicate matter?

I can install the DD Assets without issue, but anytime I install the DD Integration and run FNIS I get CTD's .Im no expert at modding this game, but I managed to get the game running flawlessly with well over 250 mods merged together. I just cant for the life of me get the game to run with  DDI installed. The thing that always springs to my mind in a case like yours though is too many animations. DDi is used by a LARGE number of people without any problem. Therefore, it is likely something in your load order that is acting poorly with DDi. A common source of that is too many animations for your computer and load order to handle. If you want to post your load order and a screenshot of FNIS after you run it with DDi included I'll take a look.
