Just out of curiosity, may I ask if the method of counting attachment download has changed? I noticed that after downloading an attachment, the count doesn’t increase, and many of the latest attachments show only a few downloads.

D3vilizer... wont happen... I have been waiting over 2 years, had threads on this forum on just that - a REAL blocking system... I removed hundreds of my contributions because of the Harassment.. The way LL has it - it benefits the Molester.

That'll be nice! Quick question, is there a tab for changelogs? I haven't seen it, and that may be because mod authors aren't using it yet. If there isn't, may I humbly request it? Especially as mods get older and there are more iterations, the newest changes can sometimes be hard to find. Or if you want to check the history of changes. I've had issues with this site for maybe two years, always slow, like absurdly slow on some days. I just figured it was the site itself.

Likely has to do with site traffic.  IT cost money for bandwith. 

 

I'd suggest that you clear your browser history, cookies and perhaps refresh the rounter (reboot) in case it is a hidden traffic issue. Just beause this site is slow.. it will be slower than some other main stream sites, doesn't mean that it can't be faster. 

 

I've rarely had issues and when I did sometimes the above helped. If not, I would return later when the traffic is slower. Often if I am intending to download a lot of mods, I do so during a slow traffic time to make the site generally better for everyone else.

Loading LL pages MOST of the time fail for me (hangs in limbo, and timeouts silently (without proper http feedback of failure), with small time windows when things resemble normal behavior. But since service is free to use, I don't complain. Much.

Im sorry that you experienced that.  Hopefully, those individuals will get their due in the future (banned etc)

It would mean that there would need to be a major addition to the site.  I know some know the software well that is used, but I believe, that isn't something offered for the forum software. You fiddle around with custom software on top of this site it can cause more instability.

 Is this a fresh download from a thread (new thread / mod etc) or a repeated download from said thread. 

if it is a repeated download then likely the forum is preventing artifical inflation of the #s. If it is truely a fresh download, I'd follow up with some of the moderators/admin regarding this if nothing changes.  Also ask if this is happening to others as well. Could be something with your system. Good to rule that out.

It's a fresh download. For example, the file "Sky 1st CLE Free Camera_rev7.zip" from this comment showed "9 downloads" before I downloaded it. After I downloaded it, it still shows "9 downloads" for me. I’m not sure if this is only an issue on my side. Could you help check whether it also show “9 downloads” on your side, or after you download this attachment, does the download count increase?

12 and 10 for the two links I saw. NO change after I downloaded it a second time. Unfortunately I was looking at the bottom right (15) and didn't see if my first download changed it. 

 

I'd advise it to be part of the main thread. The first post for proper counting. Not in the middle of the thread. 

 

perhaps try a fresh post that you created and see if it properly counts the downloads. YOu can always delete it if you need to. I used to type "MODERATOR PLEASE DELETE "  on the top of the page once I deleted it in case it stuck. Sometimes in the past it took a bit. 

Hope you can get to the bottom of this. I've been not so much in the way of active in a while so I am rusty as how things are working around there. Maybe someone else that is more active can also test or try and see. Someone that is more familar with what is going on. They can test and likely give more feedback to those that might be able to addess the problem.

Download counts aren't usually updated in real time. They are stored separately, and the stored count is periodically added to the database count. The database count is what's shown, so the number won't update until later.

But I think this issue has already lasted for about a month. I feel it probably started around October 29–31. For example, every attachment download count after this comment is become very low, and the old comment updated with new attachment also had very low download counts. I suspected at first that it was just because the game’s popularity was starting to decline, but then I noticed that when I clicked download, the download count didn’t update. I also checked other posts, such as Zenless Zone Zero, and it seems that attachments uploaded starting from November have abnormally low download counts, almost never reaching 100.

Considering how much money the site is losing currently, and how close I am to no longer being able to afford it. Yes, it's very necessary.

I loathe it just as much, if not more so, but I've resisted adding new ad slots for a long time; I'm increasingly losing my ability to be picky about it.

 

As for the company itself, this is an adult website, so options are limited, and companies within that with an actual ad budget are even more limited. It's a take what you can get kind of situation. And I hate to say it, but posts like this can actively harm attracting or retaining advertisers, making it even more challenging to keep the lights on than it already is.

Actually, that isn't much of an issue as far as I am concerned. It is neat, and non-intrusive. This is an adult site so the verbiage and content is well within what one would expect. 

 

As far as I am concern, there can be many more of those threads for people to explore so long as the company is a decent one with a decent reputation. 

 

the alternative is pop ups and other distracting advertisements. 

 

All of us should click on that link once in a while and briefly engage with the site then close it down. Give it some traffic which I would assume would encourage the site to continue with this site and perhaps might even help with more $$$ to the site.

A while back there was some mention from another member on a way to just send a one time payment to the site.  I also seem to remember Bitcoin option used to be here as well. I can be wrong. 
 

Correct me if I am wrong, you can email / message an amazon gift card with little issues.

As a quick heads up, the site may be much slower than usual for the next few nights (~9 PM to ~4 AM PST).

 

Finally got a new server setup and ready to use to fix the usual slowness, but I need to transfer the site's full 12TB of data first. I can either make that transfer take a week while the site continues to run slightly slower than usual for the duration, or I can make it take ~12 hours split across 2 nights when traffic is lower, but make the site much slower during that time. I'm opting for the faster transfer but worse performance now to finally get the overall fixed fast performance sooner.

Hell, there's also the option of adding the ability to 'gift a months subscription' to others.

But in the end, sadly, there is a 'hot culture war' on all 'Adult content' right now; And it's mostly coming out of Australia and the UK. With not enough people pushing back.

 

I mean, where do you think the whole Visa/MasterCard/PayPal thing started? It started when a group called 'Collective Shout', a group with ties to the Aussy government, sent letters to those payment processors to enforce an extremely vague rule about 'brand protection' targeting Steam and Itch(dot)io. In result, Steam removed hundreds, if not thousands of games, and Itch hid their entire 'Adult catalogue' for review.

 

So, even though LL has a 'No politics' rule, and I am sorry Ashal if this post breaks that rule; But political figures are forcing their way into gaming, in order to scrub and eliminate all the porn that they see as a 'weaker target'. Because they can't stand up against the major 'Porn industry', they target us, the games industry, which has a more 'niche' slice of adult content, that not all game players/companies will unify to defend.

Could you add the same model as nexus has? Like premium download speeds with a subscription and/or a "lifetime" subscription option?

To add onto this, some websites sell ad-space in bidding wars. 

 

Could generate some extra revenue from that too. Adult website could easily attract a lot of attention from adult content creators (Like OnlyFans, etc).

I too host a variety of content, and usually go for cheap hosts like Hetzner for a dedicated machine. I assume you've already found a fairly budget host though?

So, after 2 nights of transferring. It's gonna take longer than I thought... I eased back on how hard I was letting the transfer hit the site performance since it made the site just, honestly, purely unusable even for some of the most patient people. So I ended up slowing it down to keep the site at least usable during the transfer.

 

Long story short, after 2 nights, we are at 4.2 TB out of 12 TB transferred. So, a couple more nights than expected.
