Active posts aren't really an indication of how active they are as moderators, as we do most of our moderation through private messages and handling user moderator reports, neither of which show up as public activity.

Can I ask how many posts/files per day and how many users (registered vs active would be ideals but I doubt this site software can show the really active users)?

Number of files per day is around a dozen, I watched it in the last months. But Is hard to find all other numbers as normal user.

I've also been getting this error, unable to upload photos from my end. Error message seems to state its a server-side issue. ^

It’s really stupid and a shame.
Because we could share videos easily.
The video hosting, it’s too obvious.
Most of them ask to pay to host the videos or we get their potion (a logo) on the video.
And some do not allow you to view the videos on other sites.

Very much struggling with storage space on the site right now, running out of space is the reason the above upload errors occurred. 

 

With storage space at a premium right now, I've restricted the uploading of video files. We are not a video hosting site; we are, first and foremost, a modding community. So modders not being able to upload their mod files because the site's storage is filled up with 1GB+ video files off in somebody's blog or buried deep in a "Post your Skyrim/Sims 4 sex screenshots/video" thread is a problem.

 

I know a fair number of users, such as yourself, like sharing videos of their modded games, and for the sake of the community, I do want to allow it. However, it's a tough ask until I'm able to alleviate the site's storage issues better. Even then, I'd still prefer people upload the videos elsewhere and then just embed them here; it'd be better for everyone in the long run. But again, once storage issues are solved, I'll look to allow them to be uploaded again.

I think it depends on how you delete them. If you delete it from a post, it may stick around if the attachment is used elsewhere or some other shenanigans happen to make it an attachment without an associated post that it's attached to. Deleting from your attachment management page (https://www.loverslab.com/attachments/) is likely the most direct way to clean out your attachments. I do believe it is immediate, though.

 

Looking at the attachments you have though, I wouldn't worry about any of them. Images and stuff are generally acceptable and a drop in the bucket. The real problem comes from the old barely touched 500mb+ video files and the massive files people sometimes send over PM to others just for a single person to download once and then sit unused, taking up storage space forever.

Not my thing to think about, but if not against rules, maybe some inactive accounts can be deleted. when I'm tagging someone, there's more names than any forum I used to be on (and I love it as user  ) but I think it's probably not an option. Sorry for this random question, but am I allowed to post my videos from ph, embed it in post I mean, and can I make a thread about it with more photos and story? It's easier to ask you here in few words, then reading rules and faq

Maybe I don't know shit about this. But kinda bothersome that I can't upload 3 - 20 MB videos to the site.

 

I can't show my previews properly with just images. Must be some way to free up storage space.

Max Gif Size is 10mb, which should be sufficient for an animation loop if you keep the size down a bit. (It links to a video hoster but I never used that and can't say anything about it.Maybe worth a try tho)

For videos, you will have to go through a video hosting company.
The problem with video hosts is that it’s either paid or free. But too much trouble to share the video on another site after.
For my part, I go on Vimeo.
The free account is limited to two videos per month.
Then you have to take a subscription to put a little more.
The 1st is 8 euros or 6. but be careful, there is a monthly or annual subscription.

Anyway. That’s the problem with hosting. Their free version is often limited (either you will have the horrible logo of the site in the middle of the screen of the video, or you are limited to a limited number of videos, or it is impossible to share a video because complicated).

No matter. I uploaded my videos to Easyupload.io

 

Then posted the link.

 

 

Files will be automatically deleted after 30 days. So that fits my needs. I can upload up to 20 GB there.

Yeah, that’s not bad.
After, me since it is more blogs that I have, must be able to stay videos.
Good after for the moment, I have more than 2 videos that I have to put on my blog.

I think allowing the video file to be sent in Webm format would be fine. Here I understand blocking mp4, wmv, avi etc files. , but not not for Webm format.

 

The second point I think it would be worth it to make the mods versions the latest and at most the last old version, and remove all the rest.

More than once I saw that mods of 600MB+ were from version 1.00 to 1.89. I don't see the point in keeping such old versions.

Can we no longer attach an image or file to a message in DM's?

 

I know up until a day or two ago I was discussing a mod with an author using an image to show an issue but now that option is gone. The only option today seems to be to add a link to an offsite image. I see in this entry box (forum post) the option to attach a file or image is still there.
