i have a few question regarding elin.

 

Actually i got the race first time somewhere else, not loverslab. then i got the 3dm version of elins including some retextures.

 

I actually wondering if during any update until now, did you added new headmesh for elin1?

 

coz sometime ago me actually doing an conversion, i used unpb body in an armor when using elin body, at first i thought that it wasnt gonna make such a huge diffrence but yeah i was wrong.

 

So basically before i do anything else, can you tell me any elin bodies that possibly didnt have any seams (mesh wise, although if no seams texture wise itll be better too..) in the download section?

 

and which elin bodies that actually used when i use the race? is it inside the folder 2chelinfix? coz there's just too many nif down there and i havent open the ck yet to make sure..

 

also, another question, is there actually any elin bodies that fit unpb? idk i may read it somewhere but if there's any can you link me to it?

 

and which  elin bodie does ppl generaly uses when converting meshes to elin race?

The head mesh is the successor to the original headmesh.  It is likely you have the original when you downloaded the files from the other websites.

There is a 'fix' that I provided with the HDT Merida hair which fixes incompatible hairs.  The headmesh and morphs are different from the current versions.  However, I'm working on an update for Elin 2 that, when applied to Elin 1, will eliminate the need for the alternative headmesh and morphs.  The current head files can be used and the new fix can be used to remove any problems with incompatible hairs.  Of course, I'll won't be completely sure about it's effectiveness with Elin 1 until I the time comes when I make the changes and test it.

 

The Elins have 3 bodies: 1) Tera Body - original and unique, 2) CBBE, and 3) UNP.

 

The Tera Body is the one meant to be used by the Elins.  The CBBE and UNP variants were later added so that armors/clothes for those bodies can fit properly and with the advent of bodyslide, variants can be made.

 

The Tera Body is the closest to using a body with little seams.  In the game, any seams you see is from the textures, mainly the head textures.

 

The 2chElin folder contains the non-nude Tera body.

The 2chElin Fix folder contains the nude Tera body.

The CBBE and UNP bodies have their own folders.

The problem with the Elin bodies and armor is NOT that the custom Elin bodies don't fit the body-specific armors, the problem is those armors are not converted for the custom Elin bodies.  The Elin UNP bodies will fit UNPB outfits, but the body model attached to the armor is for an adult humanoid female.

I can only guess CBBE because of bodyslide/outfit studio, but Unified UNP looks promising.  I have yet the time to test it out myself.

The body on the left (elin body_0) is the Tera body.  This is the body meant to be used by the Elins and is neither a CBBE or UNP variant.

That is a problem with small-scale races using objects meant for adult-size races.  The only solution is to make the Elins scale to human size when using the forge or tables, but that has the tendancy to glitch and the Elins become stuck at human size.

 

A possible solution is to add two of the same objects with the second at a smaller scale and when the Elins activate a marker, the game swaps the large forge with the smaller forge.  This sounds great on paper, so to speak, but may be quite the undertaking without any guarantee of success.

 

Another possible solution is similar to how races adjust scaling when activating furniture markers, but in reverse, the furniture scales according to the race.

But I rather enjoy shoving my head onto an enchanting table! Though in all honesty I don't mind it.

 

On another note while I have everything fixed there's two problems I seem to have that I either don't remember if it was a problem for me before or I did something different to cause it.

 

1. The whole seam at the hands thing. But this might tie into #2. I just tend to notice it more on Elin guards but not myself (I tend to have gloves on, be it actual armor or a cosmetic armor mod).

 

2. The body conversion files, be it CBBE or UNP (the one I use). The files titled new body texture pack. I'll refer to UNP since I use that, or try to. In fact I don't think it's doing anything when I activate that. The body as far as I can tell remains unchanged from the option selected during the main elin installation (non nude and its 3 nude options). I haven't done it again but do they require the bbp file or something or are they standalone? If so I don't know how to make it work.

 

Aside from these things everything else is working as intended. Thanks for pointing out the first person camera fix as I could not find a working fix myself. Now I rather enjoy returning to Elin 1.

The textures for Elin 1 do leave seams at the neck and wrists.

 

If you are having problems installing from the (UNP) texture pack, the first question comes to mind is, are you using NMM?  NMM seems to handle file installation differently than MO.  Looks like you will need to install the texture options manually.

 

The bodies that come with the main package are normal bodies (no BBP or TBBP) so no special skeletons or (T)BBP animations are needed.  The (T)BBP bodies are from the custom CBBE/UNP Elin body pack and have all of the necessary animation files, but you can swap them with something else.

Yes I use NMM but I even tried to use MO just for that one mod just now and I still noticed no change. I see a variety of folders it could go in so while I play guess the folder, which directory should the filed go in specifically for the type I want?

 

Actually scratch that, I was looking at the wrong folder. Somehow I went stupid and was looking in meshes instead of textures as the FOLDER is called when unzipping it.

Okay, I think I now know what the problem is. 

 

Look at your load order.  Do you see these 2 plugins?

  1. elin new body.esp
  2. Elin Race - Use UNP BBP Body.esp

One is overriding the other.

  • 'elin new body.esp' enables the nude Tera body and is installed when you check that option when installing the main package.  The non-nude Tera body is installed automatically anyway and does not use a plugin.  This can be seen as a fail-safe in case the other body replacers won't install or the game won't load it.  The fail-safe prevents the game from crashing.
  • 'Elin Race - Use UNP BBP Body.esp' enables the Elin UNP body.

Since you want to use the UNP body, you need to either deactivate 'elin new body.esp', remove it, or move the Elin UNP body plugin after the Tera body plugin so the game will load the UNP body.

It seems something else was amiss but I'll leave it at that. I do have a new body now. Currently testing out a slightly new and buggy perkus maximus mod so I had some CTD's. The good news is it also eliminated the hand seams or at the very least made it nearly unnoticeable.

i cant find the unp body for elin earlier, so i import the common unp ones but

i rlly surprised

 

all i did was just importing the oldest unp body, and elin's head, then place them on the right side. the body seems to be lower than the rest of the hands, feet... i tried import the normal female headmesh that comes with the unp 1.2 but the locaton of the body seems off too, not like other bodies which had me confused..

i actually never noticed this..

was this what unp has always been..? or..? @@

The CBBE and UNP Elin bodies (with default textures) are in 2013Nov01_Option_NewElinBodies_BBP-TBBP_v2.7z.

 

The CBBE and UNP additional texture options are in,

2013Oct30_Option_CBBE_NewBody_TexturePack_v2.7z

2013Oct30_Option_UNP_NewBody_TexturePack_v2.7z

 

The bodies and textures found in the main pack are the Tera body and are not compatible with CBBE or UNP.

 

There will be a major update for Elin 1.  Once feature is the addition of extra sliders for the hairs to fix any clipping.

 

Example using Elin 2.

This way, an alternative head mesh or head morphs would not be needed.  The alt files currently available with the HDT Merida hair will give the Elin NPCs the dark head bug.

The new hair fix method works with HDT hairs.

 

I still have much to do for the Elin 2 update, but once it's released, I'll get started on a major update for Elin 1.

I think I found the final boss to my current load order (or just installation order of the Elin mods).

 

So while I am glad I fixed things by switching to UNP I at the same time broke the elin npc replacer. In my current game I noticed this immediately since I was with Aela immediately after obtaining werewolf (inside the fort actually). At first Aela was human and had different hair. I'm like wait what? And the only other change I noticed by trying to reinstall either is Aela being human (by not checking npc replacer) and not moving her mouth, or her having an Elin head on an adult unp body (with the bbp unp body mod from earlier).

 

At present I have two choices, ditch UNP for Elin and deal with seams on hands (particularly guards and some npcs) or forget using the npc replacer option. Have any ideas? Everything else works fine! It's just an issue with npcs being turned into Elins and the UNP mod.

There is a game bug with Elin Aela that happens after she first transforms to a werewolf.  The game tries to load her original race assets (Nord) as well as her replacement race (Elin) assets.  I'm thinking this is a bug with the original game scripts because at one time, I was using Moonlight Tales and Elin Lydia contracted Lycanthropy.  She was able to transform to and from werewolf form without any problems.  Too bad it did not fix Aela.

 

This is something I'll investigate when doing the Elin 1 overhaul.  In the meantime, I just may upload an update for Elin NPC with Aela removed from the list of Elin replacers.

I could be wrong, but I think Elins with a close-to-adult size scale are permitted to use it, while ones that are miniaturized are forbidden. I'm not entirely sure how that works, that's just what I presume the SL source scripts are saying. Either way, if they don't work, we won't provide support on how to get them working here.

They can if you use the adult sized one but you can use a race menu mod like ECE to make them their normal size though as well. Sexlab doesn't register the height from ECE, so it still registers it at adult height so 1.

Question. How do I get the elin idle animation to work with custom races like children of the skys, RCOTS, or Skykids? I've been trying to figure this out and to no avail, have not succeeded. Help would be appreciated :)

Did you change the script formlist property to the costum races formlist in elinraceidlequestscript inside elinraceidlequest window?

I managed to make it  to work on costum races (example ygnord) by changing the script  formlist to e.g RaceHumans formlist (easiest to use), or any other formlist which contain the costum race. Then in the ygnord race plugin i include the ygnord race in the said formlist. Make sure the costum race plugin loads after elinraceidle plugin, or just use tes5edit to merge the elinraceidle esp with your costum race plugin, then edit it like above. Oh, and i unpacked the whole elinraceidle bsa before using the Fnis generator. I hope this will help.

Yes, I read what it says on the first page - but it all looks like some arcane language of the gods to me. I know it's english, but it could as well be ancient greek because I cannot distinguish which words / sentences / steps are relevant for what I want to accomplish and which are not.

I couldn't even follow what exactly I should download.

 

In fact all I wanted is to have the Elin as a selectable /playable race in Skyrim Legendary Edition. Which is called a "mod"(?) as far as I understand, but correct me if I'm wrong.

 

So I got some mod organizer and tried to slap some of those Elin thingies in, but nothing.

 

Well, a bit about myself: I'm 25+,  I don't know anything about programming / coding or scripts. I barely know how to operate a computer; In the very basics. And if I say very basics I mean, switching it on and using a mouse. As a student I was great in art and language, but failed in maths and physics, so I guess I'm just not made for this logic-based stuff. This is giving me really a hard time when it comes to...putting things in.. computers... <_< ( Which is why I normally prefer gaming consoles.. )

Elin Race Starter Packs
