{UPDATE - Elin Voice v2.1 with Throw Voice Replacer Options} Tera Elin Race

Thanks for the detailed explanation. I've created an Elin Race 1 PC and everything seems good.

But I noticed that Elin main pack has its own skeleton (XPMSE 2.x If I'm correct) and will overwrite the ones from existed XPMSE mod.

Should I let it overwrite the XPMSE, or I'd better follow the instruction mentioned in many threads that "never allow anything overwrite XPMSE".

It may be trivial since both skeletons are XPMSE, just a little difference in versions.

I just wonder what's the best choice, and what happens to my previous setting in XPMSE, e.g. weapon positioning, if it's overwritten by Elin Race.

The Elins are supposed to have their own skeleton in a separate directory. You're not supposed to overwrite the normal human female skeleton.

For some reason Apachii Hair Pack don't work for me. Instead of hairs I only see bald head.

ADD

And camera IMO way to low. Any way to make it higher?

The missing hairs could be caused by the following:

  • The original Apachii hair files are missing (they are not included with the Elin hair mods so you still need to install them).
  • If you have the correct Apachii hairs installed, move the Apachii plugin before the Elin-Apachii plugin or simply deactivate the Apachii plugin and make sure the Elin-Apachii plugin is active.  The Elin hair mods only need the original hair meshes and textures.
  • Sometimes reinstalling the files (Apachii first, Elin-Apachii second) will fix the bug, especially if you are installing with NMM.
  • If you think the possible cause is NMM then install manually.

I'm assuming the 1st-person camera is too low for you.  Is it lower than her height when in 3rd-person?  Which scaling option are you using?

Does the elin animation pack have new animations other than the old one?

Only the Elin Bard v1.  I have not started on Elin Bard v2, yet.

When I get the new skeletons done (running into bugs) and send them to RSV, I'll ask if he can make some new idle animations that match the ones from TERA.

apachii 1.1a not in download list , v1.1 is for males ??

Once I add some changes to the latest XPMS Extended, I'll also create an All-in-One hair pack for Elin 1.  The edits to the skeleton will help adjust the hairs to eliminate any clippings (bald spots) so this means Elin 1 will be able to use hairs not included with the current hair pack.

I checked Apachii's Nexus page and it looks like she uploaded some new hairs (ver. 1.5 standalone).  I'll make a separate AIO hair pack for Apachii hairs alone.  The new Apachii pack will include:

  • Apachii 1.5 Full
  • Apachii 1.5 Standalone hairs
  • Apachii 1.4

In the meantime, if anyone would like to use the latest XPMS Extended you will need to copy 'skeletonbeast_female.nif' from the XPMSE option you chose and paste it in...

MESHES > ACTORS > 2chElin FIX

2chElin Fix is where the Elin skeletons are located.  Delete the original 'skeletonfemale.nif' (Elin 1 skeleton) then rename 'skeletonbeast_female.nif' (xpms extended skeleton) to 'skeletonfemale.nif' so that the race can use it.

When I revamp the race, I'll have them use the original skeleton name.

EDIT

I may as well add the skeleton edits that allows adjustment of the ears and certain headwear.  The first release will be for ECE.  Once I figure out how to add sliders to RaceMenu, the second release will be for RaceMenu users.

Thank Mud and PsychoMachina's explanation. I got some mistake in previous post, the skeleton files that overwrite XPMSE is from NewElinBodies pack not Elin main pack.

I think the Elin's skeleton files are supposed to be under "meshes\actors\2chElin xxx" according to both replies, and should have nothing to do with the default skeleton. But there does exist default skeleton in NewElinBodies pack. What's the purpose of those files? Apologize in advance for too many questions.

Posted

Those extra skeletons from the New Elin Body pack are TBBP skeletons.  TBBP armors and clothes are rigged to the skeletons used by the vanilla races and any custom race that shares the vanilla race's assets (body/skeleton/textures etc.).  The Elins do not share those assets, rather they have their own in their own folders.

Without a copy of the TBBP skeleton in the default folders, your game will CTD everytime you put a TBBP outfit on your Elin.

So either install XPMS Extended after you install the New Elin Body pack or just reinstall XPMS Extended if you think the new skeletons were overwritten.  Either way, if you have not done so, copy the new XPMSE skeleton to the 2chElin Fix folder according to the instructions I gave earlier.

You are so kind and I'm very clear now.  :D

Agreed, thanks for being so helpful and active in helping people out.  Not to mention making a great mod.  Good work :)

I just checked them and the two downloads at my site are ok. Checked on both hi-speed and dial-up since the files are small. Sounds like the zip isnt downloading all the way for you... ?

Once RaceMenu v3 is officially released and Groovtama is done with updating XPMSE to keep up with RM, I can then edit the skeletons to allow for hair adjustments.  When I create an All-in-One hair pack like I did for Elin 2, I can include those hairs that would be incompatible with the Elin 1 head; the hair adjustment sliders will give people the means to remove the bald spots.

I wonder if Elin's UNP body is slightly different from the default UNP ones around the butt.

I found some clipping with Elin's UNP body and accessories around the waist such as waist band, where the waist band sinks into the body near the caudal.

Posted

I'm not sure if I got the point. Forgive me if my question is too noob.

I think you means that the Elin UNP body is a BodySlide body, but the waist band is not. That difference caused the clipping issue, and I'm supposed to "fit" the non-BodySlide ones using the BodySlide ones.

But what's the BodySlide's role in the body conversion? I guess it's for the breast size adjustment but I'm not sure. If I don't care breast size, is it possible to directly use an installed UNP body so everything is automatically fixed? That should work well exactly the same as other UNP armors do.

Edited: I'm very glad to have an adjustable breast size. I just have little confidence to work on BodySlide. My art teacher was crying.

Hi, this is my first time installing the race, here are some issues i would like to mention and i wonder if they can be fixed.

As i installed everything according to instructions it got a bit confusing:

The most confusing part was what body type to chose and what are the differences. After installing the main race pack (and everything else) moving along to "enchantments" i downloaded BBP-TBBP pack as i want the ass bounce mostly but breasts are fine too if they are included, i didn't know if i need the main TBBP file from the nexus aswell for this to work. Went ahead to install this before something else, by the way i want the very curvy legs looks the Elins have! So the installer pops up and i chose the HDT extension (as this is the main module right?) then the choice of CBBE or UNP with its BBP or TBBP, i chose UNP+TBBP because it looks the best in the preview(legs shape/pose) compared to CBBE plastic looking and unnatural pose.

Click next and this part gives the blast in confusion, the CBBE body looks completely different then on the other screen, its just as curvy as the Tera Elins, it has the pose and the skin looks natural, on the other side UNP is fair but the legs are not curvy, not as much as i want them anyway. So here's the deal i select CBBE any ways even through common sense would say i have to stick to UNP all the way.

Click next and i have to overwrite the main elin race file, i do that

Now i get both CBBE and UNP texture packs, i install CBBE as this is the last choice i made before but the problem is that both texture packs basically have the same images, i mean both CBBE/UNP install guide have the same pictures for the skin choice, anyway i chose default and install that -> overwrite BBP/TBBP since it asks me to.

Sorry for the long post but please stick with me, im just trying to give all the details, if you didnt catch on yet i want the curvy shape and ass bounce.

Moving on i get the hair packs, the idle animation and i skip the voice pack for now since ill get that last after everything works how i want it. For the same reason i skip Followers and DLC additions, also on this part, why is the NPC and Enemies file missing?

( by this point my elin in game looks allright i guess but not CBBE curvy )

I proceed with getting armors, this is the biggest letdown i have. I get immersive armors/weapons and tera armors/weapons from the nexus.

The reason for this is in case i decide to use a normal body in the future to just have it ready but the biggest reason is i want enemies and npcs to wear the immersive armors/weapons.

For reference before i continue i was aiming for (yt)watch?v=Wm24ZgsB0-8 this exact look, please do watch the video.

Now i get FOX's armors as this seems to be the only possible armor mod for the Elin body, i skip the file that converts vanilla armors as it seems FOX pack already includes those.

Looking through the images aswell my biggest letdown is how the armors make my Elin lose its curvy legs completely, i believe every single armor does this, compared to the video i linked and the look i aim for which keeps its curvy legs for atleast the Elin tera specific armors.

This happens with all armors in the Tera pack aswell but i do not complain about this since its UNP specific, the good surprise i have is that all the armors from tera pack/immersive armors/vanilla work on the body.

And finally theres one or two missing armors that are in the video i.e: the white dress with brown leggings. I assume another armor pack is being used in that video.

Ok so thats that, i forgot to mention but i indeed used SkyProc patches for dual sheat and FINS

Short Version

1. How do i get TBBP to work (ass/breast bounce)

can i only use this without any UNP/CBBE body? i mean the ones included here as CBBE seems to give the curvy look, can i have that with bounce?

2. How do i get the armors to keep the curvy-ness of the legs as they turn my legs all most completely flat and makes all armors look like a import for children races.

I didnt make any screenshots to illustrate my points but you get it, the armors look exactly like in the images from the FOX armors link

even through the video i mentioned about keeps the sexy curvy legs, i know this is probably because there's another armor pack used in the video properly converted for this body.

Edit: TBBP work while naked only i think for CBBE only, i dont see anything for UNP

The (T)BBP Elin bodies have the necessary TBBP files for the animations and to allow wearing TBBP armors.  I suggest installing HDT Physics Extension to get better breasts and butt bounce.  Also check out the various HDT xml files people have uploaded here and at Nexus to get a bouncing action that you might like, that is, if the default is not to your liking.

You just install HDT files as instructed, no need to move the files to the Elin folders.

Fox 2 Merged contains some of the Tera body armors converted specifically for the Tera body which is included with the main package.  These armors are vanilla armor/clothes non-replacers.

The custom CBBE and UNP bodies do not have armors that preserve the Elin look.  I asked someone to help with making special files for Bodyslide 2 that allows converting armors to an Elin-type body, but I have not heard from him for well over a month so it looks like I'm going to have to do it myself.

Anything else you have questions about?

Well okay then i expected as much.

In that case can TBBP work with armors on aswell? it doesnt seem to for me as it only works naked.

Or does the specific armor need to be TBBP compatible?

And is it possible to have dual swords(shield) and and dagger on the back?

For the same matter, the shield is very far away from my back, how do i decrease its distance? thanks!

You need TBBP armors when using a TBBP body.  The rules are:

- You can use normal and TBBP outfits with a TBBP body and skeleton.

- You can not use TBBP armor with non-TBBP body and skeleton.

The reason is, the TBBP armor requires a TBBP skeleton.  If a non-TBBP skeleton is installed, your game will crash when equipping those armors.

If you want to use Dual Sheath Redux, you need to update the Elin skeletons to the latest version of XPMS Extended.  Just following these instructions:

  1. Install XPMS Extended with all of the options you want in the game for the Elin race.
  2. Go to MESHES > ACTORS > CHARACTER > CHARACTER ASSETS FEMALE.
  3. Copy SKELETONBEAST_FEMALE.nif and paste it in the Elin folder (MESHES > ACTORS > 2chELIN FIX).
  4. Delete or move SKELETONFEMALE.nif.
  5. Rename SKELETONBEAST_FEMALE.nif to the what the Elins use, SKELETONFEMALE.nif.
  6. You do not have to do the same for the male skeleton (skeleton.nif).
  7. Install Dual Sheath Redux and create the DSR patch.

I have yet to check for myself, but RaceMenu should load the Elin customization sliders.  The new RaceMenu + XPMSE 2.33 will add the necessary weapon manipulation sliders to adjust shields and weapons.

If you are using ECE, let me know if the weapon manipulation sliders appear for the Elins.  If not then I'll have to provide new ECE configuration files.

EDIT

The latest XPMS Extended skeletons have not been edited to help shape the Elin body.  By installing the skeletons as instructed, you will notice you Elin's body have human proportions.  Make the necessary adjustments in showracemenu.  When I provide an update for Elin 1, I'll include edited XPMSE skeletons.

I've been trying to get this to work by overwriting files via NMM and i indeed get the human body proportion, i did not do it as you mentioned so i got other bugs TBBP was missing while it was working before and the skin color becomes plain.

I will wait for a patch in that case.

Have you tried installing manually?  NMM could be having issues with installing the files correctly.  Just manually add the files you think are missing.  Btw, the body packs come with basic textures so if you reinstall the bodies, any textures from the texture pack will be overwritten by the textures from the body pack.

In due time, I'll be streamlining the Elin 1 files.  It's becoming all too apparent that providing too much options only causes problems.

I found an issue with elin NPCs and ASIS. If you patch ASIS while the NPC plugins are active (ElinRace Enemy esp., ElinRace NewNPC., ElinRace NPC), the patcher will add them to the patch, but will cause a CTD when starting skyrim. In order to bypass this they have to be added to the patcher's blacklist so that it does not add them. I am unsure if this prevents elin enemies from obtaining new spells (which would suck).

Oh i know about that, thats why i uninstall and then reinstall in the correct order Main body>TBBP>Texture pack.

But i think i found why the body looked "plain", well after i installed everything i installed TBBP and BBP of dragonfly, this made butt/breasts bounce while naked but it sort of made the butt look bigger aswell, so this is how i thought it should look to begin with. After reinstalling the Elin race that mod gets overwritten thus losing those details so i thought it looks plain.

Still i believe i didnt get the look from the preview images so i need to check some more.

Mind if i ask how do i locate and open the Elin body in Bodyslide 2?

What i did was "use existing slider set">browse>\Skyrim\Data\Meshes\actors\2chelin BBP body fix\femalebody_0.nif>Next>Load from .nif file> select outfit to edit from "\Skyrim\Data\Meshes\Armor" i chose fox6000\fox15\cuirassa_0.nif

I think this opend the elin body with the armor on top of it.
