PsychoMachina Posted October 7, 2014 Author Posted October 7, 2014 Are you using a mod manager? NMM? MO? If installing manually or using NMM (MO does not put the files in your Data folder) uninstall the Elin mods and check you Data folder for leftover files. Use the files from the Elin mods as reference. When all done, go ahead and install this ready-to-use main pack. Do not install any other Elin mods yet, right now you want to see if the crashing is caused by missing files or, for some strange reason, by another mod. Tera Elin Race 1 Main Pack - Easy Installation. Just extract and place in your Data folder or use a mod manager. No options during installation. Contains Core files. Race scaling = x0.8. Non-nude Tera Body. Default weapon placement skeleton. Contains ElinRaceTaint.esm and Miku Hairs. 2014Oct07_Main_TeraElinRace1_ReadyToUse.7z After installing this and you are able to play an Elin without crashing, go ahead and install another Elin mod (NOT the original main package). With the Elin followers, make sure your game is working before trying one of the followers. If she CTD then you know the problem is the installation of that follower. Try manually adding the files. As with Mi Ya and Yi Ka, you might need to reinstall the Ready-to-Use main pack after adding them to your game. Check if they CTD, if so, reinstall the main pack I sent you.
PsychoMachina Posted October 10, 2014 Author Posted October 10, 2014 UPDATE - Elin Race Main Package v1.4.1a - Ears and Tails Now Matches Color with the Hairs. filename: 2014Oct09_MAIN_ElinRace_v1.4.1a.7z Optional. Version 1.4.1a contains the same core files as version 1.4.1, but with new ear and tail meshes that allows them to change colors. Screenshots (from Tera Elin 2; same meshes and effects).
NotRicin Posted October 10, 2014 Posted October 10, 2014 Are you planning on fixing the face tints/complexions soon? I still have the problem like this person had. Also what skeleton and tree path do I need to edit to fix this problem? Looked everywhere and could not find a 1st person node.
PsychoMachina Posted October 10, 2014 Author Posted October 10, 2014 I'll get back to fixing the face complexion. The main problem is the head texture does not perfectly match the body. The 1st-person camera is affected by the 1st-person skeleton and nothing to do with the 3rd-person skeleton. The 1st-person skeleton can be found in MESHES > ACTORS > 2chELIN FIX > _1stPERSON.

Is it possible to have support for Bararian/Milkdrinker UNP textures when you start working on the head textures? And I've seem to have fixed the first-person camera height by setting the scale to 1.1800. Not perfectly eye level, but it works for now until I do further tweaking. Maybe add a patch to the file section with a skeleton near that height?
PsychoMachina Posted October 10, 2014 Author Posted October 10, 2014 I'll try some of the known texture sets. It would be nice if the authors provide the PSD of their textures. The 1st-person camera bug, I'm guessing, is caused by the game thinking the Elins are Khajjits (the Elin's proxy race) which also explains why headparts from the Khajjit race shows up in some of the Elin's face sliders.

Thanks for the update!
Skyswimsky Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 Hey, first I wanna say thank you for your work of this mod! But I but ran into two problems: For one there seems to be some clipping regarding the skeleton? And there is no fur on tail nor ears either. I think I installed everything in the right order? Here is my load order: Thanks for your time, Skyswimsky
PsychoMachina Posted October 18, 2014 Author Posted October 18, 2014 The ears look like the textures are not being loaded into the game (purple meshes). The less stressing fix is to extract the main pack and copy the TEXTURE folder into your DATA folder. If you are using Mod Organizer then copy the TEXTURE folder and paste it into the MO folder containing the files from the main package. The wrist seam is caused by armors not meant for the body you have installed. I see you have the Elin Armor Set and the TERAcostume (Elin maid outfit). Those are for the Tera body which comes with the main package. Uninstall any of the custom Elin bodies and you should be reverted to the Tera Body automatically (the non-nude version installs with the core files). When reverting to the Tera Body, see if that fixed the seams.
Skyswimsky Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 Well the clothing is the starting poor peasant thing, so shouldn't it work, or do only the Tera Armors work with the Elin Skeleton? I also tried to install the Textures manually into the data-folder, not using Mod Organizer. Didn't fix the problem :/

I also tried to install the Textures manually into the data-folder, not using Mod Organizer. Didn't fix the problem :/ The wrist seam has nothing to do with the skeleton, it's the armor/clothes having a different body model than the body your Elin is using. Armors and clothes will have it's own body mesh that will replace the body on your character. The armor's body does not have the hands and feet models, only the body, so that is why the hands and feet do not match. Tried what was said here since I was having texture issues also but I still seem to be getting the same thing? @Skyswimsky and JustBeyondTime Try reinstalling the main package, some files have not been installed the first time or something is preventing the meshes from finding the textures. There are 2 reasons why you get the purple meshes: missing textures or wrongly named textures. Since the textures appear in my game, I will have to say 'missing files' so try reinstalling the main package which contains the ears and tail files. If you are using NMM and reinstalling with NMM does not work, go ahead and extract the main package, open the '00 CORE' folder and copy/paste the files and folders into your DATA folder. Allow overwriting of files.
JustBeyondTime Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 Amazingly I tried all this, even a reinstall of the game, I haven't been using NMM (only to activate the mods on the load list) still doesn't seem to want to work, granted I can work without the textures since I'm not actually using any ears or tail but it would be nice to see, pretty bizarre tbh, thanks for the help though. Edit: Just went in and tried multiple methods to fix it, Before i was instantly extracting into Skyrim/data so instead I extracted to a random folder and moved it, still no change, repeated just incase, replaced only texture folders, redownloaded the file, etc etc.. No matter what I do nothing is fixing it so I'll just assume that the meshes are having issues with the textures, I didnt change any paths or anything so I really have no clue what is causing it. (The only other mod im using with any of these Elin mods is Live another life for the quicker start so I dont think that is causing any problems.) Afterthought: Since the followers files can effect your scale can they mess up textures also? I replaced the textures from the 00 Core but just maybe a possible thing?
PsychoMachina Posted October 18, 2014 Author Posted October 18, 2014 If you are referring to the sisters in the Drunken Huntsman then try installing their files first then install the main pack second and allow overwriting of any files. They were originally standalone followers for non-Elin races though that should not be the cause for the ears and tails missing their textures. Btw, are you using main pack 1.4.1a or 1.4.1? If using v1.4.1a (allows the ears and tails match color with the hair) then uninstall that version and try v1.4.1.
JustBeyondTime Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 Turns out I was having some kind of issue with 1.4.1a, gave it a shot with 1.4.1 before I removed anything else and it seems to be working fine. Thanks!
PsychoMachina Posted October 19, 2014 Author Posted October 19, 2014 Really. Odd that would happen. I edited the ear and tail meshes, but did not touch the texture path stored in the meshes. Even so, this would have been a common issue from the start. Odd, indeed.
lizleihi Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 Well about the problem with the 1.4.1a I think its because the textures paths are the same as the Tera Elin Race 2. Last time I checked it, the texture path in each mesh was meshes/actors/Tera Elin/Elin Ears instead of meshes/actors/2chElin fix/ears/. Then i reverted back to 1.3c because I felt to lazy to change all the textures paths
PsychoMachina Posted October 19, 2014 Author Posted October 19, 2014 You are absolutely, positively correct. I had a look and the meshes are still using the Elin 2 path. (I need a vacation) I'll take down 1.4.1a and fix the meshes then rerelease the meshes tomorrow as it's getting late right now. Thanks Lizleihi, you're an angel.
Mud Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 Agh. In preparation for another new file I went back to poking around with those HDT Numenume hairs, but I still can't figure anything out at all about why the two normal pigtails have gaping holes in their meshes. Can you take a crack at it, please?
Skyswimsky Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 Alright so it is about the file-paths, glad to see it is fixed now! Thanks for the help! And thanks for the hard work you do! Really like the look of the race and I am not even a fan of Tera. Well the clothing is the starting poor peasant thing, so shouldn't it work, or do only the Tera Armors work with the Elin Skeleton? I also tried to install the Textures manually into the data-folder, not using Mod Organizer. The armor's body does not have the hands and feet models, only the body, so that is why the hands and feet do not match. I see, but that doesn't answer my question about it working as intended or if I did something wrong there?
PsychoMachina Posted October 19, 2014 Author Posted October 19, 2014 To answer one of your questons, the Tera armors work with any skeleton. The Elin skeleton is a modified xpms skeleton. The modified skeleton along with the custom UNP or CBBE body helps define the Elin body shape. Here are a couple of screenshots I just made showing why there are wrist seams. My Elin with the Tera Body My Elin with the Tera Body wearing the vanilla prisoner's clothes In case you are not aware, the Elin armors and the Elin maid costumes are not vanilla armor replacers or, in other words, do not replace any armors in the game. So to answer you second question, you did something wrong there.

In preparation for another new file I went back to poking around with those HDT Numenume hairs, but I still can't figure anything out at all about why the two normal pigtails have gaping holes in their meshes. Can you take a crack at it, please? Are you using them on Elin 1, Elin 2, or another race? I can only check the hairs on Elin 2. I need to convert the original HDT files for Elin 1 because hair for one version will not fit the other.
PsychoMachina Posted October 19, 2014 Author Posted October 19, 2014 UPDATE - Elin Race Main Package v1.4.1a ***Redone*** Fixed the ears and tail meshes so that they use the Elin 1 textures. Sorry about the inconvenience. Renamed the archive "2014Oct19_MAIN_ElinRace_v1.4.1_ColorMatch_Edition.7z" to avoid any confusion that this is an update to version 1.4.1, rather it is an optional main package for those who want color matching ears and tails. If you do not want color matching ears and tails then keep using version 1.4.1. You can either uninstall the previous v1.4.1a before installing the Color Match Edition or simple install and overwrite the current files.

Do you remember, I linked the HDT Numenume hairs I used a way back in the thread when the topic of HDT hair for Elins was brought up. I replaced the original Numenume hairs in the Elin hair pack with the HDT meshes, but only the drill hair worked, the other two pigtails ended up with giant holes in them.
