PsychoMachina Posted August 26, 2014 Author Posted August 26, 2014 Can you post your load order? Are you only crashing when loading a save or starting a new game? I'm assuming the game does not CTD after the Skyrim logo. Uninstall all of the Elin mods then only install the main package. If you want to use the optional CBBE or UNP bodies, go ahead and install the optional body replacer + texture option. Do not install the other Elin mods. Now see if the game crashes when loading a save or starting a new game.

PsychoMachina Posted August 26, 2014 Author Posted August 26, 2014 Looking at your load order, all dependencies for the Elins are there, but I suggest grouping the Elin-related plugins as it makes it easier to manage and can avoid possible problems if they were scattered throughout the list. The first thing that comes to mind concerning your CTD problem is memory issues or more specifically, not enough blocks of memory assigned by the game. Here is a quote I gave to someone having the same problem. Crashing when loading a save could mean there are not enough allocated memory for the game. RAM and VRAM has no part in this. Skyrim allocates a block of memory and when that is used up, allocates another block of memory. The first solution you can try is uninstalling the Hi-Res textures. If you can now load the game saves, the cause is not enough memory. If the game still crashes, try either Safety Load or SSME. Safety Load is the simplest of the two (uses SKSE plugins), but has the potential to cause crashing when accessing the inventory or looting bodies. However, the fix is just as simple: open the SAFETYLOAD.ini and edit "EnableOnlyLoading" to TRUE. This makes SafetyLoad only work when the game is loading (loading screen). SSME is a step up from Safety Load and allows you to "tweak" the size of the memory blocks the game will create. This is accomplished by editing the memory blocks in SSME.ini to make the game allocate more memory. If after testing these you are still crashing, try starting a new game with the mods you want to use, create a clean, new save then reload that save. Hi-Res textures, improvements to the environment (flora overhauls, higher poly meshes, improved water, etc.), and improvements to towns/cities/buildings can overload what little memory is assigned. Remember to old solution to game save crashing was to load a previous save that was made when indoors or to create a failsafe game save by going indoors and unequipping all gear (going naked) then creating a new save? That's because there are fewer models and textures the game has to load.
Mud Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 So for my next file, I wanted to get some HDT hair action going on with my Elin character, so I thought I'd try replacing three of the Numenume pigtail hair meshes with the three HDT versions available. It's... not working out as planned. One of them, the drill hair, works great: The other two... not so much: What the heck could be causing that? The meshes for the hair and hairline look okay in Nifskope, and the normal non-physics versions look fine, but something goes horrifyingly wrong with the HDT ones?
PsychoMachina Posted August 28, 2014 Author Posted August 28, 2014 Send me the original files for the last 2 HDT hairs, I have the 1st. I'll convert them and see if that helps. I don't know why that happens and it happens with the non-HDT hairs. Luckily this is a rare problem, at least for me. I'm going to contact the HDT hair authors at Nexus and if they give permission, I'll put together an Elin HDT hairs pack.
Mud Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 Here you are, I tried the versions from this post: http://www.loverslab.com/topic/26557-are-there-any-other-hdt-hairs-besides-ponytail/?do=findComment&comment=667678 as well as the ones from http://www.loverslab.com/topic/32281-demonica-hdt-hairs/ which is just fitting them for use with the Demonica Lilith race but seems to not have the skeleton attached to the hairs. And judging by the screenshots for the latter the problem doesn't happen there, so this certainly is a weird one.
Eikichi Onizuka Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 Try this HDT hair http://www.loverslab.com/topic/27122-hdt-collisions-hair-physics-now-with-belly-support-updated-just-another-hdt-xml-file/page-1 use last HDT PE 14-28
Mud Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 Those appear to be the same files as the ones from my first link, just he edited the XML for their physics.
PsychoMachina Posted August 29, 2014 Author Posted August 29, 2014 I'll get started on the HDT hair pack. So far it'll contain: Meridia. Mary Rose. Numenume hairs. Female Hairstyles with physics. Total 10 (so far) unless there are other hairs that I missed then let me know asap. Anyone know who is the author of the Mary Rose hairs? I need permission to include the original meshes, textures, and xml.

PsychoMachina Posted August 30, 2014 Author Posted August 30, 2014 Big thanks Iuki. Including assets from the original mod simplifies the whole installation process.
Mookeylama Posted August 30, 2014 Posted August 30, 2014 what is ElinRaceTaint.esm used for? seems like the only thing i see is the ElinSummons ring esp. if i'm not using the ring esp, can i disable Taint.esm?
PsychoMachina Posted August 31, 2014 Author Posted August 31, 2014 ElinRaceTain.esm adds the Tera Elin hair/ears/tail sets. These hairs are from the Tera Online game; nothing to do with any of the Skyrim custom hairs. You can remove that file, but if you plan on using the summon ring and/or Elin NPC and Enemy mods, you definitely will need it or else the game will CTD at the main menu. Also, you won't have those hairs/ears/tails in race menu.

Hate to ask another question but what does the MikuHairElin.esp do? sorry but runnin outta esp slots
PsychoMachina Posted August 31, 2014 Author Posted August 31, 2014 It adds 2 Miku hairs: 1 turquoise + 1 blonde. You can remove that unless you have the Elin follower, Rem, who uses the Miku hair.
mikemon95 Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 Hello everyone if someone can help me resolve this issue it would be much appreciated my charcters hands are oversized appear to be somewhat cut off does anyone know how to fix this?
PsychoMachina Posted September 5, 2014 Author Posted September 5, 2014 The hands are proportionately larger because the skeleton's hand node is scaled larger than normal. Simply scaling them back to 1.0000 will make them smaller. As for the "appear to be somewhat cut off", you will have to give more details or at least a screenshot.
andrikojarl Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 I can't use your elin race.. after i use that mod, always get kicked to desktop when in bethesda logo.. need help..
PsychoMachina Posted September 5, 2014 Author Posted September 5, 2014 You are missing a dependency (master file). Post your load order and which Elins mod you installed. For now, all I can say is if you're missing RaceCompatibility.esm and Elinrace.esm then you will CTD after the logo.
miryoku Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 I wanted to ask, does the HDT hairs for Elin 2 works with elin 1?
PsychoMachina Posted September 6, 2014 Author Posted September 6, 2014 No, different head and morphs which causes bald spots. One advantage Elin 2 has over Elin 1 are the CME morphs, if any of the hairs happens to shows any bald spots due to customization, you only need to adjust the major face/head sliders to tweak the head. I can work on adapting the hairs for Elin 1, but I'm not going to place too much importance on it as I really would like to get back to resculpting the Tera body then start on some armor conversions.
PsychoMachina Posted September 6, 2014 Author Posted September 6, 2014 If anyone can send me the ripped files for the Elin hairs, ears, and tails, especially for the Reaper (I don't have the game), I was told those are quite easy to add physics.
Mud Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 I take it that means the Numenume pigtails didn't go all jagged and full of holes when converted for Elin 2? I haven't had any luck figuring out why perfectly good hair meshes would do that.
dbd54 Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 I downloaded this mod last night, and I've got a slight problem with the hands. The wrists are too narrow and don't line up with the forearms, the hands seem a little too large for them to be the correct models that go with the race. I've tried uninstalling and trying different skin textures and that hasn't helped anything. I've also tried messing around with other mods I have installed to see if there are any conflicts there. I keep coming up with nothing to change it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Unfortunately the site won't let me post links so I can't give a picture.
PsychoMachina Posted September 6, 2014 Author Posted September 6, 2014 The hands are large because of the skeleton. When editing the last sets of skeletons, I made the hands larger because I was trying to copy their proportions, but apparently those proportions don't translate well in Skyrim. The wrists should be smaller than the forearm or else they will have fat wrists, unless the large hands give the appearance of narrow wrists. Looks like I'll have to work on adding XPMS Extended to Elin 1. Also, you need to make 2-3 posts in order to be able to post links and pics. This is to stop spammers/spambots.
