xheren Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 Hey PsychoMachina, I got around to editing the .esps from the "elin npc & enemies" mod. All heads now match bodies (no neck seams) to the best of my knowledge (used race column to isolate elin race in CK and just plowed through all elins). Creation kit spat out a matching .bsa and .esp for each (new npc, npc, and enemy). I figured I'd ask for your permission before i make them available for download on this thread. To make them work I suppose all you'd have to do is install the core elin mod, cbbe tbbp body, and the cbbe fair skin complexion options (along with the elin npc/enemy mod ofc). Then copy and paste the .esp's and .bsa's into the skyrim data folder. NOTE: There is a chance you might have to export face gen for each of the sets (new npc, npc, and enemy) using creation kit.
PsychoMachina Posted November 14, 2013 Author Posted November 14, 2013 Hello Xheren Sure, go ahead and post your files. Question: Are they standalone? The reason I ask is because you mentioned they need the cbbe tbbp body and fair skin complexion to work. If they are now standalone then it would not matter what body/texture is used for the playable character.
samusknight2k Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 I've got a couple questions to see if this might be possible to do: 1.) Create a modified skeleton like the current one but retains the old proportions. I've found using armor with the new skeleton layout completely changes the body proportions and this is vanilla armor using modified UNP (Non-nude/busty/skimpy.) armor meshes so they fit the default UNP body. The hips instantly shrink, the placement of the knees raise, the entire body just looks a little deformed because of the new modified skeleton. On this same note is it possible to remove the Dual Sheath Redux requirement? Personally I don't want to use this mod, it's one more unnecessary mod that has to sit in my load order. 2.) In a future update remove or make the changed walk/idles included an optional install. I use different run/idle motions and each time I install an update or reinstall the mod I have to manually delete these files.
xheren Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 Here's the link: http://www.mediafire.com/download/505qtp2vq1bo1wg/Elin+Npc+%26+Enemy+tweaks.7z Not sure about them being standalone. When i edited the original esp's I did so with skyrim.esm, elinracetaint.esm, and usemonlibody.esp in load order. Also might be worth noting... I edited them one at a time. skyrim didn't like it when i tried editing them all at the same time.

I use different run/idle motions and each time I install an update or reinstall the mod I have to manually delete these files. The old skeletons suffered from bad weapon placements. Arrow do not align with the bow and crosshairs and 2HD weapons do not align with both hands. These were from the old proportions. When I made the new skeletons, I made sure these problems were not recreated. When I made the new skeletons, I did nothing to the pelvic nodes. The idea was to use the body mesh to give them the Elin hips. Dual Sheath Redux is optional. I can make the BBP and TBBP animations optional during installation. PsychoMachina Posted November 15, 2013 Author Posted November 15, 2013 Letting everyone know, I'm having problems with my computer and I'm guessing the latest Windows update screwed up something. It happened before so I'm not leaving out the possibility it's happened again. I won't be able to work on anything until I get my system back up.
TDA Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 It is unfortunate. I wish you to fix it quickly ................ (Why do you keep update option is enabled? This is evil ...)
xheren Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 Any chance you got to check those tweaked esp's/bsa's before windows took a poop on you?
PsychoMachina Posted November 15, 2013 Author Posted November 15, 2013 I was able to fix whatever the problem that was plaguing my computer so I'm pretty much back, but I'm not sure this will occure again. @TDA I'm not evil, just misunderstood. @Xheren I did test the tweak and the Elin npcs still have the neck seam. First I tested with the CBBE-TBBP body and Fair-skin texture then with the UNP-TBBP body and both showed a neck seam. I did overwrite the original files with your tweaked files so the game is loading your files. As you can see, they don't have the typical dark head bug which is much darker than what is shown in the screenshots, so I wouldn't think generating new face tints will fix this.
RandomUser88 Posted November 16, 2013 Posted November 16, 2013 I have a question. Do you know any good mount mods adequate for Elins? Since they have a different skeleton, mounting on normal horses is a bit weird. Also I noticed a problem. If I activate the summon Elin ring, the hair of my elin character becomes pixelated.
PsychoMachina Posted November 16, 2013 Author Posted November 16, 2013 @RandomUser88 Have you tried any of the mounts by gg77? I have not tried any of them yet, but the Chocobo mount looks interesting. @Xheren I like the changes you made with the Elin NPC and Enemy tweak, especially assigning different hairs for the npcs, but I notice one bug that may or may not be caused by your tweak. When returning to Whiterun after killing the games first dragon, there would be two Redguards arguing with a Whiterun guard. The Elin NPC mod changes that guard to an Elin. After installing your tweak, the guard is missing, but the Redguards were still going through their scripted dialogues. The missing guard didn't break the game, though, and the related quest still initiated. I'll let you know of any other "oddities" that I encounter.
xheren Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 So yeah, after a closer inspection I see that the neck seams are still there. I suppose the ENBseries I use just makes it exceptionally hard to spot them. And yeah... I forgot about editing the hairs completely, I just kinda saw a lot of them had the same hair so I just randomly started mixing em up as i matched the head colors. As far as the redguards interacting with a town guard: I suppose it wouldn't be too much trouble to just change the guard back to it's original race to avoid any issues with that scene. And if the scripting is goofed up you could probably just load skyrim.esm solo and copy pasta the original guard scripts.
PsychoMachina Posted November 17, 2013 Author Posted November 17, 2013 I like the Elin npcs with the hair varieties. The missing guard, maybe that one was edited out by mistake? I can post a link in the OP to your post so that others can test out the tweak. Do I have your permission?
xheren Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 Sure, I don't mind if you share the tweaks. I'm gonna try a new save and see if the guard is in my game. *Edit* I tried a fresh save and played through to the part where the redguards are arguing with a guard. It turns out the guard was a regular guard and he was present. It seems in my game at least, that guard is unaffected by the mod. However, that guard could just be one of a pool of guards the game chooses to spawn for that particular event. So it may just be an issue of you having got an elin guard spawned and it not being scripted for that particular scene.
uguu123 Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 Psycho, maybe this can help in any way with neck seams? http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/46967/?

I'm having graphical glitches (Laveview Manor mannequin bodies distorting) and bugs (some of the room's workbenches would show options to build furnitures after I already built them). At least this will give me the opportunity to test your tweaks from the very start of the game. Maybe the Elin guard will show up with the Redguards. The reason I immediately thought your tweaks had something to do with the missing guard is because of all the times I have been using the Elin NPC mod, the guard was always an Elin and this is the first time the guard was not there. Psycho, maybe this can help in any way with neck seams? http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/46967/? I tried that some time ago, but the info was posted by someone else (I think Radioraggae) Thanks for the info.
PsychoMachina Posted November 18, 2013 Author Posted November 18, 2013 @Xheren I started a new game only this time I had your Elin NPC tweaks already installed. The Whiterun guard appeared this time and he was human. So far so good, though I'm not that far into the game. The only glitch I encountered was this one. That's the courier that, moments ago, delivered the letter from the Jarl of Falkreath. As you can see, the Elin that was suppose to be sitting on the sign is now standing next to it.
xheren Posted November 18, 2013 Posted November 18, 2013 I've seen that issue as well, I think that sign somehow got turned into an npc exclusive object that they can randomly use. (similar to the barrel right outside the armor shop, and the rim of the well in the market area). In any case I've seen multiple different elins on the sign as well as random town npcs, however for the most part is has been the cat eared elin up there. Weirdest thing I've seen so far is an elin die trying to sit on the edge of the well when it was already occupied. I didn't quite see it happen, but when i heard the death moan, I looked over and saw an elin falling to the ground dead...
PsychoMachina Posted November 18, 2013 Author Posted November 18, 2013 Before this, I never seen any non-Elin npc on that post. Another glitch I encountered. This was yesterday. I have not played the game today so I don't know if it will eventually fix itself or not, but I'm moving forward. I'm getting started on the Hearthfires additions then move on to Dawnguard. I'm not so sure about Dragonborn.
visby Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 Desperately waiting for the version with real eyes. Every time I'm on this site I pop over their hoping but still no luck. Oh well good things come to those who wait right?
Camila Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 Also looking forward for the Elin updates and such, but already enjoying this mod so much, thanks alot Pyscho & Casualmods <3
sheloveme Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 hello gentlemen and ladys, i got a little question..related to the skeleton from tera elin..if i want to replace it with a other tbbp skeleton.. can i take a usual one or musst it be x117? and do i have to replace in all 3 elin folders the skeleton? or use the tera elin the skeleton from a other folder....and do i have to rename the skelton from skeleton_female.nif to skeletonfemale.nif? i mean there are so many folders..its confusing ....sorry that i ask such a question..but i really dont get it Best regards Sheloveme
PsychoMachina Posted November 19, 2013 Author Posted November 19, 2013 I'm starting on the Hearthfire additions (adopt an Elin and Elin npcs for the Hearthfire homes). I'm currently testing some Hearthfire homes enhancements (Lakeview Manor Extended and Hearthfire Homes AvantGardens) and the multi-adoption mod by TMPhoenix. I can make and release some eye textures along with the Hearthfire additions. In the meantime, you can use these previous textures I made for testing purposes. 2013Oct17_Option_ElinEye_ReTextures.7z They contain human and fantasy eyes (Naruto anyone?)

Should you replace them with some other skeleton not from my Elin packs you need to remember that if used with the Elin new bodies, she will look "odd" so you will need to replace the body meshes found in "2chelin BBP Body fix" folder.
sheloveme Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 Hello, I am thinking about using the Elin race for a follower I am working on. If I release this follower publicly, could I have your permission to do so? Hello Malakianknight Permission granted, but under 3 conditions: You must also give credit to the original authors (see my Credits section). You are forbidden to upload any Elin and Elin-related files to Nexus. You cannot allow others to upload any Elin and Elin-related files to Nexus. Also a link to your page/site so that I can add the link to my post. Have fun. after your post..i remeber a question i got..why you dont publish the elin race on nexus? And then i got again a question to the elin replacer for npc and enemy..replace this mod all npc or only a bunch of npc...because i had install this mod and i saw on the screenshot that the jarl was replaced in whiterun but by me he dont was replaced.... and i think i have already figure out my mistake...i think its related to my load order..where i have to place the esp files..under elin hair esp´s or directly under the esm files...and can i use the follower replacer with other follower replacers? And thank you again for your good support you are really a nice guy you give every time decent answear and you are friendly. You never complain about the question..even if the questions dont be smart ^^....
