HerpDerpMerp Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 Oh no I wasn't, this one sounds a lot better, thanks!
yasahiro Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 I've been fiddling with it for days now, ever since I last posted, and while I can get nearly every other Elin mod working just fine, including the bard, npc's, the summon ring, new body mods, etc, the moment I try to install the updated Elin Main file, the face flickering starts. Is there a way to fix this, besides going into window mode? By the way, I love the mod, it's become one of those things I pretty much couldn't play without, now.
PsychoMachina Posted November 4, 2013 Author Posted November 4, 2013 First, download the Low-Res Elin Wapaints and install those. I optimized the face and body textures and that includes all of the tintmasks to eliminate any pixelated or jagged edges. If that did not help, I'll put together an alt main pack which contains the latest updates, but with the original textures.
DFC Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 Okay so now I've been playing for awhile, everything was fine until I was getting close to whiterun then I started getting CTDs, First CTD happened while you fight the giant close to whiterun, my second CTD happened while I was talking to an NPC inside whiterun, third CTD happened when I exited whiterun.What could the problem be? I've never had these CTDs before when I've been playing skyrim heavily modded.This is my load order Skyrim.esm=1 Update.esm=1 Unofficial Skyrim Patch.esp=1 Dawnguard.esm=1 Unofficial Dawnguard Patch.esp=1 HearthFires.esm=1 Unofficial Hearthfire Patch.esp=1 Dragonborn.esm=1 Unofficial Dragonborn Patch.esp=1 ApachiiHair.esm=1 RaceCompatibility.esm=1 ElinRace.esm=1 ElinRaceTaint.esm=1 fox_shop.esm=1 SPERG.esm=1 USKP Patcher for RaceCompatibility.esp=1 ElinRaceVoice.esp=1 Dual Sheath Redux.esp=1 elin new body.esp=1 SkyUI.esp=1 Customizable Camera.esp=1 FoxMerged.esp=1 SummonElinRing.esp=1 DeadlyDragons.esp=1 DeadlyMonsters.esp=1 Proper Aiming.esp=1 FNISspells.esp=1 The Dance of Death - Ultimate Edition.esp=1 SPERG.esp=1 SPERG-DG.esp=1 SPERG-DB.esp=1 ElinRace__zzNewseaHairs2.esp=1 ElinRace__zzSimsHair.esp=1 MikuHairElin.esp=1 CharacterMakingExtender.esp=1 EnhancedCharacterEdit.esp=1 Dual Sheath Redux Patch.esp=1 ElinRace - Use UNP BBP Body.esp=1 ElinRace_SGHairPack.esp=1 ElinRace_numenume Hair.esp=1 ElinRace_RenHair.esp=1 ElinRace_Cazy Hairs-by zzjay.esp=1 ElinRace_Fh hairs-by zzjay.esp=1 ElinRace__NewHair.esp=1 ElinRace__zzSimsHair2.esp=1 ElinRace__zzCCCHairs.esp=1 ElinRace_ApachiiHair_1-5.esp=1 Joshen23Y.esp=1 ElinmageFollowersVanilla.esp=1 ElinRace Enemy.esp=1 ElinRace NewNPC.esp=1 ElinRace NPC.esp=1
PsychoMachina Posted November 4, 2013 Author Posted November 4, 2013 You need to run BOSS because your load order is unorganized. You have plugins mixed with the master files. The basic load order requires all master files on the top of the list followed by all of the plugins. The unoffical patches (plugins) need to be moved just after the master files . If organizing your load order does not fix the crashing, the possible cause is scripts lagging. EDIT I see you have Dual Sheath Redux installed. You need BOSS for Dual Sheath Redux to work properly. When you run the DSR patcher (the file ends with ".jar" and would be in the Data folder) by double-clicking it (if running a mod manager, you need the manager to run the patcher) and BOSS will sort your masters and plugins before creating the patch.
DFC Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 Okay that's weird because that's my load order after I run BOSS, but i'll try putting the unofficial patches after the master files then.
PsychoMachina Posted November 4, 2013 Author Posted November 4, 2013 Okay that's weird because that's my load order after I run BOSS, but i'll try putting the unofficial patches after the master files then. Really? I don't know why BOSS would do that. If you're doing it manually, you definitely need to group the master files on top of the order followed by the plugins. The unofficial patches need to be on top of the plugins group just under the master files. Also keep the Elin plugins grouped together and near the bottom, but not necessarily last in the order. Make sure the plugin for the custom Elin body is last in the Elin plugin group.
bob11 Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 Okay that's weird because that's my load order after I run BOSS, but i'll try putting the unofficial patches after the master files then. Don't. Even the Unofficial guides now state that this is the correct order for the patches, that's probably why BOSS implemented it. Not that it matters that much, it generally works no matter if it's like that or with the old order. HOWEVER, the BOSS load order isn't always optimal and doesn't take a number of things into account. If it's related to whiterun, remove any mods that affect whiterun space besides the Elin npc mod and try replicating the CTDs.

That's the weird thing, I dont have any mods that affect whiterun space as you can see in my load order. The only mods I have apart from the elin mods/requirements and the unofficial patches are Deadly Dragons, SPERG and Dance of Death. I'll try my last hope ENBoost if that doesn't work, i'll only try it with the Elin mods and enter whiterun and see if I get any CTD.

DFC Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 System specs? GPU: ATI Radeon HD 5770 1gb RAM: 2gb CPU: i5 dual core 3.2 ghz Yes I know RAM is low but as I said before, i've played skyrim before heavily modded with alot of races/graphic enhancements and all that stuff. Anyways I did as PsychoMachina said and grouped all my elin esps together with the body plugin last and I also installed ENBoost and set it to WaitBusyRender=True. And it seems to be working, for now.

Did you try running this without the extra Elin NPCs like Elin Enemy and ElinNPC plugins? Those seem to add quite a number of new actors all over the place, especially ElinNPCs in whiterun.

If i get another CTD i'll try that, but my last installation of the Elin mod I didn't have the elin enemy and elin npc plugin and I did get crashes then. For now i'll just continue playing and see if I get another crash, thanks for helping me.
Camila Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 Okay that's weird because that's my load order after I run BOSS, but i'll try putting the unofficial patches after the master files then. Don't think it's something with the unofficial patches. They say in their page: "After installing the individual mods, the following general load order needs to be followed: Skyrim.esm Update.esm Unofficial Skyrim Patch.esp Dawnguard.esm Unofficial Dawnguard Patch.esp Hearthfires.esm Unofficial Hearthfire Patch.esp Dragonborn.esm Unofficial Dragonborn Patch.esp HighResTexturePack01.esp HighResTexturePack02.esp HighResTexturePack03.esp Unofficial High Resolution Patch.esp" And that's how BOSS organize them for now on. As for myself. I'm not getting CTDs with the new version. Could only test to level 12 so far. Although i'm not using the extra Elin NPCs / Followers / Enemies / Elin Bard files.
fifteenspades Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 Omg that bard is too cute, Would i have your permission to use this for a future mod? Going to ask Lindsey Sterling if i can use one of her songs in skyrim and i will animate to near as perfect as i can get it. But having yours as a base would reallllllllly help.
DFC Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 Yeah I give up, i'm still getting crashes, I'm gonna do a complete wipe on my skyrim. I'll skip the elin NPCs this time and see if I get any crashes near whiterun.Sigh, this is like my 5th time i'm reinstalling skyrim again, I really dont want to miss out on this mod, I wanted a good loli race because my old skyrim data got wiped when I formated my hard drive and I couldn't find the one I used and then I found this one.

Since you're on that, you might want to consider Mod Organizer. It helps with your Skyrim folder not ending up like a pile of NMM garbage.
yasahiro Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 Yeah, I went and tried the low resolution warpaints, still have the face flickering... Which is annoying, because the rest works so darn well. xD
DFC Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 I give up now, I reinstalled Skyrim and played until I got to whiterun I ran around there and talked to NPCs just to make sure it wasn't something else causing the CTDs and I got no crashes. Then I installed the elin race mod again, this time without HDT Physics Exention, Elin NPCs/Enemies and SG Hairs. So when I finally installed every mod again, I load up my save file in whiterun, I open up showracemenu and select the Elin race, then I go to hair slider and I start browsing hairs then I get a CTD, so I restart skyrim and I start making my elin again and browse through the hairs and I get another CTD, finally on my 3rd try I managed to select a hairstyle and just as I finished my elin I get a CTD.Finally on my 4th try I managed to make my elin and it didn't crash, I run around whiterun and talk to NPCs and no crash, what I did notice though was that all females had black bodies, I restarted my game and it was gone. I make my way to bleak falls barrow to do the quest, I got killed and when it auto loaded I got a CTD and this was nowhere whiterun so I have no idea what's going on.I guess I have to give up on this race mod and try to find another loli race, I don't like the head meshes for COTS so....This is how the female NPCs looked.
PsychoMachina Posted November 4, 2013 Author Posted November 4, 2013 The black bodies indicate you're surpassing the vram limit. If this is the case, that would explain the random crashing as oppose to constant crashing when entering the same area or starting a certain event. Did you still have ENBoost installed?

Yeah I installed ENBoost after I crashed when selecting hairs and see if that would fix it, should I remove ENBoost?
PsychoMachina Posted November 4, 2013 Author Posted November 4, 2013 Not yet. Give me a moment and I'll send you my enblocal.ini. May or may not help. EDIT Extract and add this to your Skyrim folder and overwrite the enblocal.ini file. If you change your mind, you can always reinstall the original file from the ENBoost archive. This is for Nvidia cards with at least 1GB vram. enblocal.7z If you have an Nvidia card with less than 1GB vram or using AMD 1GB+ or AMD <1GB, let me know.

PsychoMachina Posted November 4, 2013 Author Posted November 4, 2013 Okay, I'll upload a different file. Give me a moment. EDIT Try this one. I can't test with my game for obvious reasons. enblocal-AMD1gb.7z
