Effie Posted July 25, 2015 Posted July 25, 2015 I agree. How can I look forward to a character who has less than 6 minutes of air time? They could do these shorts like Queen's Blade: Punish, and just assume we know the characters and go with it. I don't need a full blown series intro if all they are going to do is show panty shots, censored jigglies, and stilted dialogue. I'm surprised how easy it was for me to get into Bonjour♪Koiaji Pâtisserie despite it being only like 4 mins long or something. It had plot and story and everything, and it was soo enjoyable haha.
Angrybird Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 Death March, another manga about a guy getting transported to RPG world, I don't know if fashion seasons are a good thing for manga or not.
Kendo 2 Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 Atelier Escha & Logy: Alchemists of the Dusk Sky It's very cute and friendly without any substance. Perfect for mindless viewing.
Kendo 2 Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 Can't stand dubbed ANYTHING. The one exception is Heaven's Lost Property. The guy who did the voice for Tomoko was just hilarious.
Kpnut Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Actually, it was the Japanese voice actors that spoke ALL of the dialog in the movie, which made it worse. Guess they didn't have the budget to hire people overseas to better fill the English-speaking roles. But as far as English dubbed anime goes: I found Black Lagoon and Welcome to the NHK! more enjoyable than the subbed versions. Chrome Shelled Regios also had the Japanese VAs speaking in English for parts of it, it started out being absolutely terrible and slowly got better to the point it was just bad they could have gotten some VAs who at least spoke English fluently for those sections. As for dubs, Black Lagoon is actually widely considered to be one of the best examples of dubbing around loads of people who watched both the subbed and the dubbed version said they preferred the dub. Hellsing's another one that has a good dub (although that might just be because I find Seras' voice to be unbelievably sexy.) But as a whole dubs are actually getting better, if you compare the stuff now to the stuff in the 80s and 90s you can hear a noticeable difference.
ds64 Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 after overlord, I really hoped Keyman: The hand of Justice gets an anime adaptation... that manga has both funny and serious moments.Btw, is there anyone here that watch kangoku gakuen/ prison school? How is it?? Shining Hearts: Shiawase no Pan/ Bread of Happiness. An anime from Shining series (RPG Games), I already forgot about this anime.. but I'm pretty sure it has relaxing theme, and as usual.. T2/TONY TAKA artstyle is worth to watch.
Koko.Hekmatyar Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Heaven help us all it looks like Shinmai Maou no Testament is getting a second season come Oct.
Kelthos Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Other than the awful name, I've been very much enjoying "Gangsta" It reminds me of one of my all time favs Black Lagoon.
Kendo 2 Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 Gansta. episode 5 has been delayed until Aug 6th. http://gangsta-project.com/news.php#post136
thingwhatsqueaks Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 Gansta. episode 5 has been delayed until Aug 6th. http://gangsta-project.com/news.php#post136 That sucks. At least it's not the last episode of the series like what's going on with Kekkai Sensen which, apparently, absolutely, positively had to be an hour long and couldn't possible be chopped into pieces to fit into normal time slots so who the fuck knows when it's going to air.
Kendo 2 Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 Watched episode 1 of 'Shinmai Maou no Testament' just now (since we all got fucked on Gansta. for two weeks) If you liked High School DxD you'll probably like this too, though the comedy is lighter. And the male protagonist isn't the typical anime pussy-dumb ass. There are uncensored and subtitled episodes on gogoanime.com. Note, if you've never been there (unlikely) be sure to have AdBlock turned on. They'll bombard you with adds and sidebars.

I hate streaming shows/videos only to get interrupted by internet bullcrap.
Kendo 2 Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 Yeah, I do the same. I use AdBlock because I HATE ads using FlashPlayer, doesn't matter if I'm downloading or not.

As you have pointed out, he's not the dumbass protagonist we are familiar with but it doesn't mean that he's the nice kind too. Try to harm the ones he want to protect and he has no qualm seeing your head pop, literally. Must have gotten that from his dad.
ds64 Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 I hope "Boku To Kanojo No Renai Mokuroku" gets an anime adaptation, it's gonna be in mindfuck genre with chaos head and steins gate....

There are no ads as far as I see... but then again I have adblock lol so maybe they do?
Koko.Hekmatyar Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 I think after watching 4 eps of Prison School I'm officially putting it into my to stupid to continue watching list.
Kendo 2 Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 I think after watching 4 eps of Prison School I'm officially putting it into my to stupid to continue watching list. I had that by the end of episode 1. It's billed as a comedy, but it's the antithesis of funny.

I've gotten tired of the main character who, while being badass or at least not a dumbass, tries to save everyone rather than let the person who just abducted his sister and tried to rape her burn.
Kendo 2 Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 Issei is an serious wuss when compared to the MC in Shinmai Maou no Testament (dragon hand or not). I just wish he had been more of a perv, like the MC in Aesthetica of a Rogue Hero. That guy is still my all time ecchi anime idol.
Sir Artsy Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 I dont really watch anime. Actively anyways. I do watch one piece randomly since it has way less censorism than bleach.. For now atleast. Now that i think about it, i haven't watched bleach since that arrancar arc ended. (2009-2010?) Anime was waaaay tamer than in novel form. Also i liked Slayers (dubbed) because of the insane magic spells but thats about it.

I just wish he had been more of a perv, like the MC in Aesthetica of a Rogue Hero. That guy is still my all time ecchi anime idol. That is an anime that I wish they would continue. It was really good without having to resort to excessive nudity like Shinmai and DxD do.

I actually found the censored version of Shinmai more amusing because of how creative they got with their little censored signs. It wasn't just done with conveniently placed hair and mist/fog.
