Splintered_Lizard Posted September 4, 2025 Posted September 4, 2025 (edited) Thank you. It works fine so far indeed. I love all the little immersive stuff in this mod, by the way, such as your owner commenting on Lola's (voluntary) kneeling. Also, I was hoping Gorbash would comment on getting Lola again when buying her from the slave auction once more, but nothing. Does former-owner commentary only apply if Lola asks to submit again willingly? I'm also curious, I can't remember where I read it, but there is a way to change player stands, and I do have one installed with feminine stands, but if I wanted one that was most "slave-like" or submissive like in all the standing animations, do you know a mod that compliments this one? I cannot recall what it's called when you try looking for animations specific to the player, if it has a special name. Thank you! Edited September 4, 2025 by Splintered_Lizard 1

Yes, but I can add a line about that to the auction start.  Edit: Done. That works better. It also skips over the "Call me Master/Mistress" part and has you slide right back into the old habit.  41 minutes ago, Splintered_Lizard said: I'm also curious, I can't remember where I read it, but there is a way to change player stands, and I do have one installed with feminine stands, but if I wanted one that was most "slave-like" or submissive like in all the standing animations, do you know a mod that compliments this one? DAR or OAR let you conditionally set a pose animation. You could change pose depending on a worn item keyword. Edited September 5, 2025 by Hex Bolt 1
Splintered_Lizard Posted September 5, 2025 Posted September 5, 2025 (edited) Thank you! I found the mod "Sexy Random Idles Main" that I use-- I just couldn't remember the word "Idles" is what I wanted to search for. Thank you for adding the former owner commentary to the auction! Oh, I also meant to ask: regarding the line of "Tell me what I want to hear", the owner comments that Lola doesn't say it enough. Is there an option to voluntarily say the line? Maybe I jut haven't hit a high enough submission score yet? Edited September 5, 2025 by Splintered_Lizard

No, owners just like to nag. Also, saying a line would be a little too easy a way to increase score. You can volunteer to clean, whore, and be a pony girl. Edited September 5, 2025 by Hex Bolt
Hex Bolt Posted September 5, 2025 Author Posted September 5, 2025 (edited) Teaser for upcoming content, a companion book for Submissive Lola.  The Shieldmaiden's Ring  This ring's history is traced to a shieldmaiden of legend.  Details vary.  Scholars believe the stories to be myth, but romantics embrace the notion of an unfailingly loyal warrior slave and tales of her exploits, her ultimate sacrifice for her master, and an honored place in Sovngarde.  Bawdy bard songs, such as "The Shieldmaiden's Garter", appeal to a more vulgar audience.  Although slender, the Shieldmaiden's Ring fits any finger, male or female, large or small, as all magically enchanted rings do.  As a practical item, its speech enchantment is very rare for a ring.  It's quite suitable for wear in towns and civilized locations for improved bartering and persuasion.  The health regeneration effect, though modest, offers some benefit in combat to anyone, while the blocking bonus will appeal to warriors who favor shields.  Despite some claims, the ring exerts no mind control.  One wears it willingly.  It does, however, influence the wearer's mood, attitude, and desires.  A slave can still question, even complain, but refusing a master's order is inconceivable.  One cannot submit and say no.  Indeed, a wearer of the Shieldmaiden's Ring will refuse freedom from servitude if it were offered.  Such would be madness, like accepting "freedom" from having food, warmth, shelter, and comfort.  One doesn't shun that which one needs and desires.  Observers have noted that wearers of this ring will spontaneously share their feelings about their enslavement, blurting out such things as "Being a slave is best for me," to which listeners can only reply with an awkward, "That's nice, hon."  Claims that the ring is cursed are false.  It can be freely removed, though wearers can experience feelings of loss.  To have any influence, one must place it on a finger willingly (or unwittingly).  If equipped by force or duress, it's just a gold ring, lacking even the skill benefits.  This aspect negates any appeal it might have for slave masters.  It's useless on a defiant slave, and unnecessary on an obedient one.  As one slave trainer succinctly put it, "If she wants it, she don't need it.  If she needs it, she don't want it."  A belief that one who willingly wears the ring is destined to become a slave is supported by available records.  Those who have worn the ring for more than a short time have inevitably become enslaved.  However, enlightened scholars dismiss claims of "destiny", seeing it rather as self-fulfilling prophecy.  Those who choose to wear the ring are likely to already have a submissive nature, and they often seek out a dominant person whom they deem worthy and speak the traditional words, "I need a strong hand to guide me." Hex Bolt Posted September 5, 2025 Author Posted September 5, 2025 (edited) 53 minutes ago, JustMe469 said: Would wearing it while you have no mistress/master entice comments and offers from eligible npc's? Probably not, for a few reasons. In the mod, you can only acquire the ring as a slave, which differs from most past wearers. In your case, the destiny is already fulfilled. You could end enslavement after obtaining the ring, though its influence on your desires will oppose that. Also, a ring is small and might not be recognized without close inspection. It's not like going around wearing a slave collar.  As it's implemented, it works the other way (especially in conjunction with another new feature that was inspired by the ring). A masterless wearer will feel a strong desire to become a slave. The ring is not cursed or malign. It just amplifies a submissive wearer's desires (unconscious or not) and induces a compulsion to become a slave (a compulsion that can be resisted). It's what you really desire; it pushes you to get there. On a slave, the ring amplifies the wearer's submissive nature. A truly submissive slave will want to wear the ring because it will help her be good. She'll be at her best.  That's the idea. The ring does have tangible benefits (a stacking speech bonus on a ring is great in towns), but its main attraction is its roleplay features. Splintered_Lizard Posted September 7, 2025 Posted September 7, 2025 The ring idea sounds very interesting and intriguing  I actually had a funny thought for a possible expansion to Submissive Lola -- something that might need to be its own mod? I'm not sure, because it might be a bit of work. But I have a mod where you can get attacked by roaming bands of orc bandits, and another mod that adds random groups of adventurers on the roads and in the inns, complete with their own schedules. And I thought, "How funny/interesting would it be if, instead of being waylaid by bandits on the road, you're instead waylaid by a group of adventurers who are determined to save Lola from her master? (Up to Lola if she fight this group with her master, or not, I suppose). And if your master gets killed, well, guess you're free now XD Actually, I meant to inquire -- does anything in Submissive Lola make one's master or followers "Essential"? I wanted to test how long it took mine to fall against some giants but he never did, and I'm not sure which mod might have made him unable to die. I did tell SL Defeat to give a chance of death, even a high one, as a test, but he never died, and even when I got the message "A Follower Has Died" he seemed to get right back up and be okay. 1

The toggle for Can Ask for Help is vaguely similar (you can ask NPCs to free you -- they always refuse, of course). The concept is that your character is submissive, even if unconsciously. Others sense that about you. For slave starts, that's why a buyer selects you from among the others. When others see you wearing a slave a collar, they'll think, "I thought this would happen." (A few might think, "Aw, I wish I'd collared her first!") You're still free to adventure and do jobs for your guild(s), so they haven't lost you.  If anything, I'd imagine slavers wanting to steal you away.  35 minutes ago, Splintered_Lizard said: Actually, I meant to inquire -- does anything in Submissive Lola make one's master or followers "Essential"? Yes. You can't escape enslavement by dragging your owner into a horde of bandits. Playmates are essential too, to avoid complications.
Splintered_Lizard Posted September 7, 2025 Posted September 7, 2025 Ah, thank you for that clarification on Essential status  Also, regarding the Adventurers, I was thinking a bunch of paladin-style do-gooders who would try to free Lola "Because it's the right thing to do!" But I do think this would be best as its own mod and probably not an addition to Submissive Lola.Â

It's all roleplay.  As a slave, it's just a single message. Even a very submissive slave might need to use other rings. You won't be penalized for that. It's intended to be a fun feature, not a burden.  As a masterless submissive, equipping the ring starts the Strong Hand quest, along with periodic thoughts (the latter feature is configurable). Remember that this mod only gives you the ring when you're a slave, so if you're no longer a slave and choose to wear the ring again, you'll miss what you used to have, but it's just messages. (If you don't miss it, you probably threw the ring away.)

You could even make it a quest item for the Sub Lola quest so it can't be discarded even if not worn, until the quest is completed.  It's just sitting there in your pocket, tempting you to put it on, and somehow you can't seem to muster the willpower to throw it away... It really would be "my precious" then.  Regardless, it's little touches like this that make this a must-have mod for me. 1

It really would be "my precious" then. I like your thinking, but the Submissive Lola book serves that purpose. A new feature (inspired by my work on the ring) can provoke thoughts that nudge a submissive in the right direction. After reading it, you can't stop thinking about it. There's no magic involved; it's a receptive reader's mind at work.  If you leave enslavement and put the ring on again, it will do the same thing (start Strong Hand and the thought messages).  In your character's story, it is acquired after enslavement, through a new quest. "The ring wants to be found." It does find you, and it does help you, just after you've submitted to your owner.  I'm open to fun roleplay suggestions, but see how the new content works, and it should make sense. 3
Hex Bolt Posted September 8, 2025 Author Posted September 8, 2025 (edited) A Tale of Scope Creep  The next update (no estimated release date) is a prime example of scope creep.  It started with my own game, when I thought it would be fun to craft dragon bones into working sex toys (that was pretty easy, if you don't expect much from existing animations).  While testing that, I earned the "Denied!" achievement.  That was funny (I added two more achievements -- you'll stumble across them).  In my game story, my character's owner presented a set of those "toys" to Jarl Elisif.  Why not make a small quest to actually do that?  (Notice the word, "small".  It's the Devil's device to entice and ensnare.)  Thus, was born Dragonbone Quest (yes, a play on Dragon Quest).  I was concerned that players who don't read the change notes (or who start using the mod later on) wouldn't know about the naughty new use for dragon bones.  They'd miss this content.  I added a load screen to mention it.  Nah, no one is going to read that.  So, I added a little quest that starts when you pick up your first dragon bone.  Can't miss that!  It rolled into Dragonbone Quest as the initiator and first objective.  That saved me a force greeting scene and conversation.  Yes!  If players understand one thing, it's "I have a QUEST! Must. Follow. Objectives."  I needed a non-boring reward for delivering the little gifts of joy, which led to the Shieldmaiden's Ring.  It was intended to be a trinket, a minor reward, implemented in a minute or two.  But I'd named the damned thing "Shieldmaiden's Ring", inspired by the lore of the shieldmaiden Lola, and I'd given it a legend.  Things feel better when they're grounded in history, rather than "Here, have a ring that I don't need."  Why not build on that legend and give the ring something to do?  I'd just worked with OnEquip events for the Dragonbones; I could do that with the ring.  Plans for the ring inspired a new feature, Dangerous Thoughts (which was actually much easier to implement than the stupid ring).  If I'm going to build a "small" quest to present sex toys to Elisif and receive a ring, why stop there?  There are lots of people in Skyrim who could be interesting recipients of these little gifts.  It should be simple to add a few more and extend the fun, right?  Ysolda's obsession with mammoth tusks came to mind, so tusk toys came into being and Ysolda was added to the quest.  But what does Ysolda actually offer to interest a Master/Mistress, other than being sexy?  She's a wannabe merchant.  I did NOT want to add a merchant to this mod; that's way out of scope.  I did NOT want to make Ysolda a merchant.  I made her a merchant.  Of sex toys.  (Her existing tree sap business was the deciding factor.  She just buys a couple more things now.)  Somewhere during the process, she gained the option to be a Radiant Prostitution madame.  She's a businesswoman and you're a whore; do the math.  By the time I'd finished with the other gift recipients, I'd pulled in two more NPCs for minor appearances.  And discovered that one (possibly two) of my chosen NPCs can die and no longer be available.  Fun times.  (Voice pack makers are probably not going to like the inclusion of actors spanning several voices.  They'll figure something out.)  So, I finally circled back to finish the ring.  While doing that, I learned (the hard way) some weird Skyrimy technical stuff that won't interest anyone, but it did waste more of my time -- like that recent freaking "Not gonna let you retexture me" book cover business.  So, tested the ring, and it does what I want.  The problem is, some of the features aren't obvious if a player doesn't use the ring a bit.  It's not powerful, so it might just get dropped in a chest and be forgotten (I made it non-sellable, so players can't dump it that way).  Change notes?  Same problem as before.  An in-game note to explain the features?  Breaks the fourth wall.  A BOOK!  That would do it.  Players tend to look at mysterious books dropped in their inventory.  They do, right?  AND I get to use the new book cover again.  Writing the book took longer than expected.  I don't use AI, just a thesaurus and spelling checker.  The book has to describe in-game features in an immersive way.  Hopefully, players will appreciate the less-than-precise wording and play around with the ring to see exactly what the book meant.  Now, I can work on the other thing, the must-have thing that was at the top of my list before I looked at a dragon bone and had an idea.
