It thinks your Devious Devices version is less than 5.2.  Double-check your DD installation, and be sure that you don't accidentally have two versions of DD installed.

Hexbolt already answered this, so just to be on the safe side: DD5.2 comes with four esp's, so if you have old variants of DD assets, integration or expansion: Get rid of them!

(yes, your mod manager should warn you, but i.e. Vortex is stupid and only activates 1/4 if you don't kick him in the shins)

Dumbass me indeed accidentally forgot to remove an older version of DD Expansion, that fixed it thanks! ?

Question about the "your share of gold" calculation.

 

Say you have it set at 1% and your score is 50.

 

Does that mean you get 1% x 50 = 50% of the gold?

 

Or does it mean that you get 1% x 0.5 = 0.05% of the gold?

0.01 x 50% = 0.5%  (The share is stored as a percentage integer, so 0.5% would round down to 0%)

 

It might be helpful to think of this value (if it's positive) as your share at score 100, which will be scaled down for lower scores.

 

Changing the settings for score-based gold share immediately updates the setting for owner's share, so you can see right away how gold will be split at your current score.

In the process of setting up a new run and I realized I might have the wrong assumption. And I was right, I did have the wrong assumption

I have a structural/procedural question, rather than a technical one. 

 

I tried out Lola for the first time with a new character and despite doing everything my Companion/Master wanted, my character's submission keeps going backwards. What's more, the contract keeps getting extended. In fact, it never drops below four days. 

 

Now this kind of sucks as it neither allows escape nor full submission. She's now about -16 submission and "rebellious". 

 

Is this the intent of the Submissive Lola or just a quirk of the default settings?

No, that's not how the mod is intended to work.  However, if the score is reduced, the reason for it shouldn't be a mystery.  The owner will tell you what you did wrong or a notification on the screen will tell you that you're violating a rule (e.g., "You must wear your collar").

There's a Rules setting that allows contract days to be added when you're punished.  You can set that to zero if you like, but the fundamental problem is that you're doing something to get punished in the first place.

I should add that the default setting for daily score decay is 5 points, meaning that you will lose 5 points each day unless you change this setting.  Its purpose is to slow score growth, because it's ridiculously easy to earn 5 points in a day (a point sink, similar in concept to a gold sink).  It represents the "what have you done for me lately" attitude, where you have to prove yourself each day because your owner tends to forget some of the minor stuff you've done in the past.  There is a screen notification when this occurs.

 

Again, it's not intended that a player's score go backwards, since it's easy to gain score, but this might be contributing to your loss.  It would be helpful to know what messages or conversation you're seeing when your score goes down.

The default settings are recommendations for those who are new to the mod, so they get the baseline experience without having to do a lot of research or guesswork.  Even so, it's a good idea to look over the settings on the first page and the Rules page to avoid surprises so, for example, if you get punished for not offering service enough times in a day (the owner will tell you why), you'll remember seeing that setting.

Perhaps the problem is that I'm still trying to adventure whilst using this mod. I only offer service when we stop in a town or when we camp for the night. 

 

I guess this requires that my character become utterly subservient, which I have no interest in. I wound up in a contract with the mage companion Marcurio because I couldn't afford his 500 septim fee.  Often I'll have just done something pleasing (like fetching wine) and he'll turn right around and whine about my not being pleasing enough and whip me. It seems schizophrenic. 

I might make a few more modifications to the rules based on  your suggestions.

Since a while boot licking does not show an animation and has no end - means it endss after the dialogue from master immediately.

SLTR is intended for use while playing the game more or less like normal (it depends a bit on your score, if it's very high SLTR can interfere a bit, but that does not seem to be your problem).

You will have to serve your owner in the Wilderness or even in Dungeons occasionally, at the very least you should not ignore messages like "Your owner beckons to you" until you reached a point you consider suitable, your owner is not going to like that. The things that happen in the wilderness/dungeons do not usually interfere with regular adventuring too much or for too long. Still, if you wish to adventure at max. efficiency and only want to be a 'past time slave', SLTR will not work for you.

It's very much intended that players be able to play Skyrim while using this mod.  It won't lock you in heavy bondage and leave you to struggle to escape.  The events are fairly short, especially starting out.  Most can be finished in about a minute.  (I recently had a discussion with an author of an extension to the mod about keeping events short.)  Longer events have cooldown settings to make them less frequent, or disabled completely.

Well, subservience does go with being a slave, and the word submissive is in the title.  However, your master still generally just follows along behind and assists you in battle, letting you play the game as you wish.  If being an adventuring slave does not interest you, you won't enjoy this mod.

There's always a reason for the master's behavior. *  You have a game hour to fetch the wine.  If you take too long, that's not as bad as failing completely, but you still get punished for failing the stated quest objective.

 

* An exception is the "Hard to please owner chance", a setting on the Roleplay MCM page.  Masters have bad days and bad moods too, and sometimes they take it out on the slave.  If you'd like your master to be fair & reasonable all the time, set this to zero.

That's a ZAP animation, possibly a problem with ZAP.  I saw the scene play yesterday.

Yes, having a demanding Mistress tagging along can be annoying. The trick is to find someone you really like, and you don't mind having her (him) around and try everything to please them.

If Marcurio doesn't feel right, get another follower and use the "switch owner" function in the MCM. I recommend NFF if you're not having a follower framework already.

In the end, I just dismissed him and he walked off. (I am using NFF).  Though I think he's still technically my character's Master. Is he likely to wander back and renew the contract, do  you think? Its been about a week now and no sign of him.

He's still technically your master, but that would only affect you if you wanted to recruit that NPC again.  He won't do anything to you.

 

The mod could block dismissing a master, but only by modifying the dismissal scripts for vanilla Skyrim and each of the follower frameworks like Devious Followers does -- with the installation and compatibility problems that players have had when they don't read and follow that mod's directions for mod load order.  So, as a matter of roleplaying, players shouldn't do that, but this mod won't prevent it.

I'm honestly curious to know who you guys have chosen to be your master/mistress.

 

I've done multiple saves and i've jumped from sofia and serana.

sofia the funny follower voiced mod, and serana custom modified, with add on dialogue.

 

the problem with serana is that i can't play without the add on dialogue super famous mod which just expands serana, thing is it's an incredibly immersive and romantic mod too which to me defies the purpose of being someone's slave at the same time.

I know we got two ways of doing this we either A have a playful mistress or B have a demanding one.

I personally love a demanding mistress who will go to far lenghts to actually make me feel like a worthless little thing, no playing, just serious business, humilliation and bondage, i would love to be tortured by the mistress aswell but those options are somewhat...restrictive.

When i think of torture in skyrim my mind wanders off to the dark brotherhood torture room, how cool it would be to have your follower attach u to a wall and spank u, or burn u, or how great it would be to see an actual leash attached between ur follower and you, preventing you from moving too far away from ur mistress.

However serana is a vampire and that just adds to it, she can make use of the vampiric feeding animations.

 

Sofia on the other hand is a loudmouth who cracks up jokes, makes sexual inuendos, doesn't mind getting dirty and has one of the best configurable menus i've ever seen for a follower, plus she can follow you through dimensions which is un-heard of for most followers.

she dismisses compliments made towards her and has an air of superiority about her which just adds to the dominatrix feel i would love on a mistress.

 

besides all this i always make my mistress taller than the player, have attractive gear or clothing mods "usually stuff like from korean websites or coco armour clothing mods", i teach them powerfull spells and shouts and increase their level, stats and configure combat abilities to be more powerful than me, that to me is the true definition of a slave master.

Came across two inconveniences (wouldn't call them bugs)

 

1) When Lola is wearing forbidden clothes (nudity rule) even the weapons (and quiver) get unequipped. Upon entering a house that's okay, but out in the wild that's really annoying.

 

2) Whipping during Lights Out equips its own blindfold, but doesn't re-equip the unlocked blindfold afterwards.

 

The third I fear is a Sexlab or Bethesda stupitity: after sex scenes, some weapon is re-equipped, even if Lola didn't have a weapon equipped on entering the scene. But as vanilla Skyrim equips the previous weapon (say a sword) when you're unequipping another (a bow) I guess there's not much to be done about that.

My favorite quotes from her is when she asks you what is your best personality trait, and if you answer strong she says this "pfft..well i'd love to see how well u would fare against me".

and then the other one is when u compliment her on her looks she can either dismiss you by either saying "please don't tell me that was a chat up line, look i've heard it all before...if you really want to impress me it's gonna cost u alot in blood and gold...i'm not cheap y'know?" but my favorite is her other line "I know! What can i say...it must be soo hard for other people being soo inferior to me".

I really like using Jenassa, Aranea, and Uthgerd the Unbroken. Tough ladies with a sense of authority seem a perfect fit for my PC. I stick with playful and try to keep the insults to either side to a minimum because this was a consensual arrangement they agreed to.

3) in the Pony Girl event, right after equipping the tail, Mistress gripes that I already have a plug in my ass. Uhmm, yes, a split second ago, thank you. New, faster function due to DD 5.2?

 

4) When claiming Lola's body, "you're mine whenever I want", I can suggest going to an inn, although we already are in the Bannered Mare.

 

PS: please don't take these as complaints. I know that you want to have a streamlined, bug-free mod, so I report my little findings.
