SE to LE backporting - Requests Taken Inside!

ah yes followers...

Follower mods seem to be the big bugaboo as far as porting is concerned. There are follower mods the modder refuses to port and refuses to let anybody else port because they don't like old rim or SSE whichever one they don't want. AE has complicated  things as there are well known modders who say you might as well switch to AE even when you might not want to.

Examples of mods the modder doesn't want ported are Minerva an oldrim mod the modder doesn't want ported to SSE and the SSE version of Faye that modder doesn't want ported to oldrim.

While its those modders right to say they don't want those ported their rational for saying so is dubious to say the least.

As for AE Arthmoor says players might as well  switch to AE. I find his rational for saying so dubious as well.

I hope we don't have such issues when Starfield modding starts although I suspect we will.

and in case you are wondering yes I would like an oldrim version of the sexy Faye and a SSE version of Minerva.

I guess I need to spend some time trying to find out how to port them myself unless anyone has any recommmedations about those.

Ok I figured all that out, but where do you find the bone weight for hands so gauntlets can morph properly?

Read my posts in this thread. I can port nearly every follower from SE to LE without those who have a a skse64 function, The problem is that there is no proper automatic to port a headmesh. For this you have to do some work in nifskope by hand. I explained it here more than one time but nobody seems to listen.

Don't do so. Load the mesh in bodyslide-outfitstudio after backporting in CAO. Then remove all bones form the mesh. ad your handsmesh as reference and copy the boneweights. You normally find 3 references: Body , hand and foot.  After that you only have to put the connection to the sliders and it should work. for gauntlets you need the handmesh.

Mm. Tried on this, but still CTDs for me... weird. ( ' ' _ ) Prolly doing someth wrong but huh- from the top...! x_x
Hopefully gets me back in the modding groove

Missing Master ??  High Heel to name one at random . Open the ESP in XEdit, if you see it barred, extend menu to see which Master is missing

...I mean, not that I've seen. 

Even did the "Has Vertex Colors", Shader Flags stuff and deactivate Packed_tangend thingies @Harvald's posted about previously in this and another thread, but even just the hair crashes the game... ?‍♂️

The problem is the mod uses a CBBE 3BBB body

The textures are also a horrible mess that will not work for Skyrim LE.

Yes, it is for LE I know, but there are patches I want to use that are only on SE, and maybe use an updated version as well. Are you serious that I can use the SE patch for LE? What do I have to change to get it working right?

JK's Skyrim - ETaC - Patches will work for Skyrim LE because it is only a esp file. You have to do nothing but install the esp.

 

JK's Skyrim - Dawn of Skyrim - Patch has to be backported. At first you have to unpack the BSA files with https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/974 or an other tool you like better. I would start with the .....Textures.BSA. You need ordenator https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/12801 and Paint.net  https://www.dotpdn.com/

 

You have to know  that Skyrim LE only can handle DDS files, that are encoded in BC1 or BC5 format. That's because Skyrim LE has no directx 11 compatibility like Skyrim SE, but only directx 9. The first thing I do, before using CAO, after unpacking the 7zip, is to run odenator on the textures. Ordenator knows which code skyrim LE can handle. I use it like this

On the lower part of the pic you see the result: one Error after the other. In this case not even one texture will work. That's not so good because it means, we have to work on them. Sometimes You get only one or two errors so check the log completely. Sometimes you find an error with a .pdn format. That is ok, if it is a face-tintmask. They are allowed to have this format, cause they had this format since Morrowind,

 

Now you have to open all textures causing errors in Paint.net, Rightclick on the preview in the line on the top and choose save. A window will open that looks like on the picture below. Make your decisions BC1 linear for DDS without a mask and BC5 linear for DDS with a mask (Recognizable by one or more  gray dashed line on the image) and save with ok.

At last run ordenator again  to see if you missed a thing. Thats all. Now the textures are done

 

and we can start with the meshes.

 

Now unpack the meshes BSA and start with CAO https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/23316. Choose Profil TES5,  meshes, full optimization. Navigate to your extraction folder an run Program. Thats it. (not if there are NPC with headmeshes. That's a little more complicated.

 

Now you can install meshes textures and esp to LE

This hairstyle, who can be converted to use with this version LE Yes, I'm having trouble using it CK So I want to ask for someone who can convert ready to use. Is there one or not? I have this hairstyle file.
