I'm using those together in my current playthrough without issue.

Thank you very much for the recommendation! I know and use Extended DC and The Bleachers, but not the third. Its setting is great.

Β

I have found and installed one more called Subways of the Commonwealth, although I have not tried it yet.Β It is not a bar, but at this point I am satisfied that there are new and not generic NPCs.

Question - is it possible to upset PC's pimp? I mean, "truly upset" so that they're very angry and do something more than just beating? Right now it's like:

  • Earn caps. A lot. No risk (because pimp protection)
  • Stash caps (I must admit, maybe this is the root of the issue? But then again, you recommend to have mods that allow it ? )
  • When it's time to report to the pimp, just get whatever minimal amount is possible, like .. 1 bottlecap
  • Hand it over to the pimp. They will be probably unhappy, probably very angry, but the most they will do is beat PC and possibly cripple during that
  • Well, no worries, we crawl back to stash (unlucky if legs were crippled as it means slow walk, but that's just inconvenience), get caps from there and go to the doctor
  • Heal by the doctor. That's -150 caps, but oh well, choosing between pimp getting them all (which could easily be up to 1000, depending on PC's "eagerness") and paying 150 to a doctor - you get the idea. Also, -150 caps is a penalty that can be even less, depending on the setup: I play with AN2 and nothing heals crippled limbs apart from a doctor (no sleeping or stimpacks healing etc), so my setup is rather harsh. Normally it would be possible to just buy a stimpack or even sleep it over.
  • Rinse and repeat

Β

My PC was able to buy Home Plate on the second day due to this thing ? I didn't check all the conditions and to be fair, "Queen" told PC that she got to be lying and "educated" her a little about how bad girls shouldn't lie to the pimp, but that's it. So, is beating the worst thing that can happen?

Nope that's pretty much it. You can just not stash the caps if you feel masochistic ?Β I could consider grimmer outcomes if people really want that. Selling you to a worse pimp if I make one for instance. The mod isn't meant to be that dark in general though.

Did somebody besidesΒ MXR review it? If so I'd really love a link.

Β

If I understand correctly, you need to go into your Fallout 4 Settings: Display: and make sure both kinds of subtitles are turned on.

Β

I should really add that step toΒ the guide.

Β

Edit: I just did :DΒ

Β

Thanks! that was it. I forgot I play with subs off usually. I believe MXR was the only official "YouTube" review. all others I found I think were just random play-throughs on PornHub.

So now that that issue is resolved, I have found another and is probably just Settings-Related too (maybe?) but I can go through seemingly all the "events" but I just get spalsh dialog boxes with options through the event, however it never cuts to any animation sequince, i'm just wandering around with my current client in toe until we're "finished" then they wander back to their Vanilla spot. Or get into a fight with a deathclaw as I run away.

Is your AAF stuck at 20%? (Right upper corner)Β  Does it work with the AAFΒ hotkey? Assuming you have all the requirements something is messed up with your XMLs somewhere. You may just need to reinstall stuff till it starts working. :(

Yes! If I may ask - please, don't make it dark. I really like the way it is now (though of course that's just my opinion; I even reduced the beatings on my own since I'm not a fan of hitting women at all)

Β

A simple "non-dark" solution I can imagine is - pimp will "lose trust" in PC - especially if PC is beautiful - and start following the PC. Inevitably, PC will interact with containers and if PC puts anything into any container, pimp takes that all. Of course with a proper dialogue. Something like:

  • PC: here's your 1 bottlecap
  • Pimp: no way, I know you're lying! (or beautiful if PC indeed is), here's your punishment!
  • PC, again: here's your 1 bottlecap
  • Pimp: I'm going to inspect what are you doing and teach you the job then! (starts following around)
  • PC - tries to stash anything (or worse - stashes it into a stash with caps that she used before for hoarding caps), pimp: now I see what you're doing. I'm going to take that! (Optional punishment to PC is she misbehaved or objected)

Pimp following around is already in the mod, so I figured, this won't be much of a problem to add. Getting the "stashing" event should be also easy - just listening to the OnItemAdded and checking if the source was PlayerRef (of course, with the condition that BW mode is on and the pimp is indeed following around)

Β

Alternative way of handling this lie is to just kick PC out - I mean, who would agree to protect someone and all the troubles for no payment?

Well conversely I didn't want to sugar coat things either. While Hardship is not a realistic mod I did want it to "feel" immersively realistic if that makes sense. I didn't want it to turn into Pretty Woman :DΒ

If you are going to work with your own version of semen overlays, would it be possible for a client to reject the PC for having the overlay in the body? Although, knowing Looksmenu, there could be a lot of problems.

Yeah... I'm guessing that'd be too fiddly to be practical. I'll think about it.

Β

Right now I'm pulling out my hair trying to figure out what to split into the master and what not to :DΒ and terrified something will fall through the cracks. I did this once before when making the unreleased Chempusher mod... Frickin nightmare.

I think I do wanna do something with Super Mutants... Maybe even a Super Mutant Pimp... But I want it to be Lore-plausible so I need to do a lot of research as I am pretty fuzzy on the intitute origins of the Boston Super Mutants. (Yes I did play the damn game but it's been a minute) If only someone was here to tell me "That's a story for another day".

Damn a supermutant pimp would be interesting.

In fo4 we have Virgil and Erickson as intelligent supermutants that i think would fit the role. Theres also Fawkes but hes from older fallout series, unless you bring him to boston which wouldnt be that weird imo.

Oh I'd create a new character. And yes he'd be intelligent like Fawkes.

Well, if you're gonna consider that, would you also consider your super mutant pimp pimping you out to other super mutants as clients? It would be nice to make use of the available animations outside of the Violate environment.Β

Yeah That's why I need to do so much Lore justifying ?

But why would a super mutant pimp want money? Hmm, unless the SM wants to buy a kind of cure (like the cure that is available for Virgil) and that's why he's looking for a way to make money.

Β

But why would the protagonist want to work for an SM? That is where I find it difficult to find a justification. HeΒ should offer something that other pimps don't offer.

Β

And with what would the SM clients "pay"? They don't have an economy and would only pay with bones, lol.

Β

But everything you do is welcome, that's for sure.

I figure an intelligent super mutant like Fawkes might want money. But those are all good questions that would be interesting to explore. As far as player motivation it doesn't necessarily have to be a consensual arrangement.Β

Β

This is assuming I ever get these busted ass XMLs back together. I am having a really fuuuuun time grafting the changes I made in 1.59 into my existingΒ "Final/1.6" XMLs. Can't wait to redo the scripts... lol.

Well, Hardship is about roleplaying a person who is down on their luck. Desperate perhaps. The Commonwealth is a cruel unforgiving place. So, finding someone who can protect you is rare. Their motivation for doing so isn't necessarily kindness. Whatever you could come up with in terms of the motivation, the real story is in the mind of the protagonist and what they are prepared to do to survive.Β

This is where Bethesda's Fallout shows it's stupidity, if there were more intelligent SuperMutants with their own economy (like in FNV) ideas like this would be much easier to make, and they would look much more believable. Ah I miss FNV lol

Β

I wish we had more places like Diamond City or Goodneighbor to talkΒ withΒ NPCs, deal with people problems, which could lead to more interesting mods/quests, not only ''go there kill this'' or ''another settlement need your help'' lmao

Β

I doΒ love how you explore different possibilities for cool modsΒ :)

Clearly SMs would pay with weapons or ammunition. Lootable things that have value to them.

They would pay for sex (horny bastards) or maybe blood if that helps them. PC would be a walking blood bank.

If there are no female SMs, pay to have PC carry their child. Surrogate mother.

According to lore, they don't (can't) reproduce sexually, but since we have mods providing animations and pregnancy mechanics for humans to carry SM offspring, it does make sense to try to find lore-friendly explanations... perhaps an intelligent SM scientist (freak occurrence where FEV infection didn't rob them of their faculties) is doing research into the viability of human mothers conceiving and incubating the mutants' young because the necessary lab equipment is becoming harder to obtain and so the super mutants are slowly dying out?

I have nothing in the way of a percentage or AAF Display. Watching a couple playthroughs again, it looks like the animation never even tries to load. (no black screen and load icon).
1. disable ALL unrelated mods.
2. uninstalled completely all related mods.

3. reinstalled in order of directions, setting up conflicts to load before/after based on instruction order.

4. saved game or new game got the same results as initial attempt.

5. I did manage to break other things by playing with load order or disabling this or that as to be expected.

Result is I get all the splash screens and dialog and credit for the various "activities" completed, just no animation loading.

I did go look at AAFs support page and turned Debug on through its ini file but no where does it ever show the expected errorsΒ  (as with the % you mentioned) nothing, anywhere. I have yet to try the outlog file to see if at anypoint a log is captured...

SO for whatever reason the animation just isnt even trying to run???

Maybe there is some component to the AAF that I am missing or some other config file that needs calibrated? I can't imagine that to be the case or more people would have out-the-box issues.

Is there a button or trigger to hit to launch the animation each time or is it supposed to auto-load with each event?

Final Result appears that all the Hardship/BW aspects are working, just with no cut scenes.

Initial guess is that F4SE isn't installed correctly (missing scripts maybe), but it's hard to say without more info. Your best bet is to run the AAF_GFV.EXE (AAF Game Files Verifier) utility from the #tools channel on the AAF Discord. For that matter, ask in their #help-nsfw channel and folks there are generally happy to assist with troubleshooting AAF installation/startup issues.
