in the files there are equine futa portraits, but i cant see them in the species selector in game. how can i fix this? or are they not intended to be there?

Those were imported from the mod LV Expansion, which has now been (partly) integrated into LV. They are special event portraits that can't be selected at game start

Hello, I do not know if it is because of the new LV version or game version, but somehow I now got "additional humans (triggered)" and "additional humans (old s...) for apperance. Because all the Bimbo images from Starchild LV expansion for example and other stuff is in the "additional humans (old s...)" now , the portraits do not change anymore (government + species after modification) and only the images from "additional humans triggered" are available to choose from.

How can I fix this to got all triggered again?= :(

I really want some semblance of the old comfort workers back for non-gestalts, as right now comfort workers are pretty much the same as brothels.  Even if they're slightly nerfed, having them provide amenities at least gives them some sort of unique role beyond just being 'oh wow another trade job.'

Or make them act like 'better' culture workers. ANTHING beyond being slightly better clerks.

Has anybody suggested yet a re-flavour of the Scion origin with the Fallen Empire as sort of Sugar Daddy/Mommy? Practically wouldn't need anything more beyond some text rewrites (and maybe a rule that they don't spawn as Xenophobe lol)

Wait, don't comfort workers boost Specialist and Ruler pop output as well? And can produce food according to their description with the right tech, guessing stuff related to the Milk Ranching things.

AFAIK Clerks only produce trade value and amenities.

I admit, I could be entirely wrong, honestly just double checking on this, lol

Can there be a trait that is futa&female only species trait?

Does Stellaris even allow species traits to be gender specific?

From a game implementation point of view, that's a question with several interpretations:

Under LV, a species can have mixed genders (the default) or be limited to not have that many genders. (Note: I haven't seen any support for the thousands of genders which can occur in real life earth mushrooms.)

So, a gender specific trait might depend on the species being limited to that gender (or, hypothetically: being limited to some collection of genders), but a different gender specific trait might depend on the species not being limited to not have some conflicting gender (or, hypothetically: being limited to *not* having some collection of conflicting genders).

That's an excruciatingly long sentence, so here's a couple examples:  A "female-only trait" might mean that the trait only works for any species which has females. Or, it might mean that the trait only works for a species with a "female-only" trait.

Meanwhile, leaders also have gender so a gender specific trait which was inclusive of mix-gender species should presumably have a condition on it which disables that trait for leaders which do not have that gender. (Hopefully this was obvious. But: if the trait is "female-only" and the species isn't all females, the trait should disable its effects for leaders who are not females - edit: I assumed, here, that the trait had some leader-specific characteristics. Or: do not do this if there's nothing leader-specific about the trait.)

It's really simple to think about except when it's not simple to think about.

Can somebody please tell me at least, if the implementation has not been done yet, so it is expected behaviour, that the images do not change of the portraits, or is it a bug?

Hi!

Just wanted to let everyone know I am still finalizing a 3.9 update for LV. It should be ready soon, very likely within this week.

Also, on the same day, I'll make a new topic about tentacled dreams, to share my thoughts and progress on it so far! For those wondering ?

Thank you so much! I can't imagine playing the game without your mod. :)

Anyone else checking the page every like, 3 hours to see if something's posted? Don't get me wrong, i'm gonna be much happier with a product that takes time and works over one that's out fast and doesn't, but it's a real testament to how addictied to this mod I am that I can't even get 2 hours into a game without getting bored, if I don't have the mod.

I had a thought about something that could be fun ... A hive mind that uses biotrophies ...not to produce unity, but to produce food ... and eventually other substances by having each planets specialize milk production by 'spiking' the food.

So on a planet, the biotrophies (Milk Cows) produce purely food. On another planet, you can add chemical agents that makes them produce less food, but unity as the special milk is shipped around ... Or you can have them produce no food on a world, and instead have them lactate a gel that turns into crystal, or is processed into rare gas, or motes (requires special technologies so the milk cows' boobs don't explode on the extraction of the volatiles!)

Those hiveminds would capture aliens, to turn them into biotrophies, and use it to boost their production ... modifying them to make them better at production ... Maybe have their own ascension path (perk + civic) ...where they focus all of their bioengineering towards furthering the production of their cherished cows. At the end of the tradition tree, it allows you to assimilate aliens to make them female only, and make them perfect cows.

Drawback? ...The main species itself is rather ... horrible at producing its own resources. All of its existence it has subsisted by using the substances of the other species that grew alongside them.

Habitat things are almost certainly broken given that habitats have received a total rework. use with care!

I've tried to download the files and follow the instructions, but it doesn't work. It just loads in vanilla instead of loading the mods. Is there a step I am missing? Could there be a youtube or video tutorial to follow in order to make this work?

Make sure you're using the correct playset in the Stellaris launcher, and add LV (and whatever other mods) to the playset if they're missing. Hope this helps.

If your mod folder has special characters, it can break some parts of the mod. Install the mods in an easy-to-access folder (C:/Stellaris/Mods would be a nice thing, but it's whatever you want it to be). The .mod file should not move, BUT you should edit it to point to the new location.

Their game updates break so many things. I've given up and uninstalled the game. :(

You know there are hard set packs to keep your game at a certain level. You just backdate your game to a certain patch level and stay with that. There are already 3.8 collections and a lot of 2.2. collections. The game gets a major update 3 times a year, so you might want to think about that. It's just how game like this function these days, I'm always so excited to see all the new stuff the modders come up with and the new content the devs do.

How do I add them to the playlist? I tried adding folders, but Stellaris just wouldn't accept it. I assume it has something to do with the new Stellaris update?
