Getting kinda confused, looked through this thread multiple times now and keep hearing people say this works with SSE but then heaps of people say it doesn't work with SSE, i tried it myself and just get an error saying that the skyrim version is wrong. I tried to install that script on page 4 but it seems impossible while using mod organiser because it doesn't like to allow you to add single files.

Did you try unarchiving the mod file, adding the script then archiving the mod file, then adding the mod with your mod manager?

Yeah, gave that a shot, got the mod pseudo working. It pretty much keeps doing the same lines over and over and seems to think a Tentacle is assaulting my character, I have decided to return to Oldrim Lol

Anyone else get an annoying black flickering of existing overlays when wear and tear goes to update to a new level?  Using Apropos2 on SSE, works fine otherwise.

Yes I have and half the screen goes black.

Hmm that’s worse than mine which is nonetheless irritating and immersion breaking.

If anyone has any idea why this might be and how to fix it it would be much appreciated.

I wish I knew what you were describing. Is this LE or SSE ?

I have been writing and maintaining this mod for years and playing it hard (I think I've over 6900 hours on Steam) and I do notice a small pause sometimes that Slavetats causes when tats get removed and applied. But never a screen blanking or flickering. That's wild.

I use it on both but the problem is with SSE's version.

Something to do with the SSE version of Slavetats or NioOverride ?

Sorry to clarify, it’s just the texture themselves that flicker black when updating W&T level, not the whole screen.  SlaveTats itself seems to update ok without the flicker through its mcm.

NioOverride, well I don’t have that installed but it’s not listed as a requirement... ?  I have RACEMENU installed.  Everything else works fine.
SSE for the record, with the patch provided somewhere on this site.

Is there anyway to remove my character moaning eveytime they use a healing potion, its really fricking annoying. I know it's this mod that's doing it.

Must be in the database text or something, im sure its W&T that my character got from... well I dont know where because I haven't been defeated yet.

Idea/suggestion if not currently possible (and if it is i'd like to know) option to only have messages for acts the player is directly involved in. (messages get very spammy atm if there is some sort of 'orgy' going on)

It depends on what you mean by "healing potion".  If you're referring to potions that heal health, by default this mod doesn't touch them.  I've used healing potions and never heard a moan.  If you mean consumable items that heal wear & tear, those are listed in Data\Apropos\db in WearAndTear_Consumables.txt.  It's possible that whatever you're consuming got added to that file.

As HexBolt8 mentions - you are likely using a database that includes healing potions as wear and tear healing items.  You can either edit the consumables text file in the database or replace it with the default one from the base version of the database.

I can think of one way to do this atm (but would take a bit of work) - you could blank out the 3rd person dialogues in the database files to get "invisible" dialogue for non-PC scenes.  That is unless you like to use 3rd person perspective for your PC scenes as well.

? Thank you, seems like a decent work around.

Thanks! I edited the "WearAndTear_Consumables.txt" file which had Healing Potions on the list. Now the stagger... that's a whole nother thing that we'll have to wait for an update for.

You can change this yourself with a simple edit and not wait for an update.  Edit Apropos2WTStaggerEffect and change Archetype from Stagger to Script.  That's it.

Honestly debating if the next version of Apropos will be SSE only, or perhaps spend my time bringing Apropos to Fallout 4. Playing FO4 atm and am loving the stability. I know SSE has similar benefits. I've already suffered through one Fallout.exe update from Bethesda which was of course incompatible with the latest FO4SE so I found instructions to revert back my Fallout.exe to the previous version. So if the pain with Skyrim SSE is similar, I think I'm more or less motivated to leave LE behind in the next big Apropos mod, or perhaps I will give FO4 an attempt, though the supporting environment would be totally different (SL vs AAF, etc).  Thoughts?

Personally, I'm not interested in migrating to SSE.  Hopefully if you choose to do this, it will be possible to back-port.

If you are actively playing FO4, I'd say that could be a great opportunity to look into building an Apropos equivalent for that game.  I personally definitely plan to revisit it again for a full adult playthrough, since the modding for that game has progressed a lot since I last tried it (grabbed all the DLC I never played in a steam sale doesn't hurt either).

Development only for SSE I'm less enthusiastic about, as it seems to be quite difficult to backport SSE mods to LE but less so to convert LE mods to work in SSE.  If you are only using SSE or there are SSE-only modding levers you want to use, IMO do what seems interesting.

Presumably this is because there are too many LE-only mods you can't live without?

Probably I'd try to get everything currently in Apropos 2 working in LE today to work in SSE, plus some recent enhancements (applied to both SSE, and LE) then make major enhancements in SSE.

Changing it to script does what exactly?
