Edit: BTW, I forgot to mention. The weapon/armor equipped guard behavior won't trigger in small towns. You need to either be in an interior cell or inside a walled city. 

Didn't want it pestering people passing through towns.

Started a College of Winterhold play through 

 

Is it possible to make it so enforcers can sell licenses? Or something? It is a long walk in my set up to the nearest license dealer especially with frostfall and no magic/weapons/or armor

While I understand what you mean, if the enforcers are suddenly able to give out licences then:

1. They're a lot more accessible and I don't want them to be so easily accessible. 

2. You don't have to go to town - through a toll. 

3. Existing licence guys won't always sell you a licence.

4. Sounds like a lot of work

ya I get it, there is a reason for it... but some kind of mechanism for starting a new game is needed. Even if it is a "start game with a weeks worth of license" MCM option.

Oh well, hey. If all you want is an easier start toggle then I can probably add the "Snowberry Start" option. 

1x week long magic, weapon and bikini licence (+ clothes if it's always enabled)

But must be toggled on before leaving the Alt Start cell. Dunno if that would work for Unbound though. 

 

Chances are it'll all get stolen from you anyway by all those bandits as you try to leave Winterhold.

I've noticed another bug with Auto Suck. This time with the cooldown quest. 

Just StopQuest _SLS_CumAddictAutoSuckCooldownQuest in the console and wait/force a cum hunger level change (peckish -> hungry for Eg.) to fix it. I'll probably post a fix tomorrow.

Anyone know off-hand how to detect if Skyrim Unbound (the other alternate start mod) has finished it's business and set the player free into their scenario?

The usual check on MQ101 isn't going to work.

Your Devious Follower will give you a nice warm outfit to wear.

 

If you don't like the model, you can always change it.

 

I find the "point" of going to Winterhold is that it's hard to get to. 

If your license has run out, all you have to do is avoid the enforcers in Winterhold itself and you're fine.

 

Any other problems were nothing to do with SLS anyway.

 

Sure, when you walk into Windhelm, or wherever, you'll get a lot of confiscation, but you can buy your licenses and reclaim everything.

Unless you have no money, in which case you're in the same situation you'd be with a normal start.

 

This simply raises the question of "how to start". If you have a prostitution mod, you have a way to raise some money to buy licenses before you adventure.

If you don't, or won't, then you really will be picking snowberries to pay for your food.

 

That's one of the tricky parts of SLS... If melee is an unreasonably hard option to start with (Burdens of Skyrim and other combat mods) and you can't use magic, then how to you start without prostitution? Either your permit some other tradeskill as a way to make money, or you can't ever leave town.

 

I guess if you have Slaverun auto-start, something will happen...

If it's not on auto, then even Slaverun won't start because you won't be able to do the starting quests.

 

It's an area where I'm looking for ideas.

 

One solution I found was to get enslaved in Ibn. There is no need for a license there and the Falmer are all female. You can get set-up, then deal with the human towns and their silly licenses later, once you have some money, levels and skills. It's a bit of an easy mode, but it makes a change.

I might have suggested it already but you could use the SLS API to give the player licences in exchange for debt/deals. The Api seems to work at least since I'm using it for the snowberry start. 

I'm not sure of the usefulness of trading one debt type for another but at least you could get a start without needing the cash up front. Maybe limit it to one licence or something.

DF already has the gambling game to allow you to get cash from the follower in return for ... lots of debt.

 

This is one way you can buy an essential license right now.

 

You can also mix-in Loansharks, but that is - as discussed previously - a bit of an easy-mode solution.

 

 

I'm interested in something that would let a PC that has limited combat capability earn money without a license OR a DF that simply does all the fighting for them.

 

Right now, my best "fix" is simply not enable the magic license, as it's overly harsh. I guess what was always in the back of my mind was that it could have an option like SL Adventures, where using magic is punished, but you aren't stopped by preventative measures that continue their interference long after you've left town.

 

e.g. in soft-magic-license mode, there is no collar or tattoo, but casting a spell that isn't zero cost results in an extreme punitive reaction. Something like 10x the magic license fee as a bounty, plus the same kind of restraint punishment as you get from toll skipping. It could be enforced anywhere in the hold you can be seen by a crime-faction member, but would be allowed in Wilderness and Dungeon locations.

 

You'd also still get confiscation of all magic items without a license, which is quite important, cash-wise. Losing that is a big down-side of disabling the magic-license entirely.

I'm using the mod Guard Trolls here on LL which puts frost trolls everywhere and half of them are dead already

Granted Dragonsreach should be a bit safer.

Theaving is good way to make money if prostitution is not a option. little more difficult but it worked, until PC get sold to slavery by her own father. (Horrible!)

Until the hired goons are sent to straighten you out. They always seem to catch me in a bad situations, like just been dumped in an armbinder. And they are fucking relentless. Running away only provides a brief reprieve. 

+ they've never worked very well with defeat for some reason. Get defeated, they let you go, they follow you and defeat you again and let you go again and on and on until eventually you whittle them down.
