Wrote a D&D Dungeon Master assistant on it using the tables from the DM's Guide (all 1st Edition ). Maps, encounters, DM die rolls, all of it. Worked great . Especially when nobody wanted to DM a game.
donttouchmethere Posted May 22, 2018 Posted May 22, 2018 A long time ago in a galaxy far far away I missed the C64 stuff and ended up with a Schneider Euro PC right away: it was hard to find a EGA Grafic Card with 4 colors for that one I learned more english with Kings Quest I than in school (i still dont understand "time" tho) My first Space Game was Captain Blood, urghs Falcon was the first Simulator, but the Schneider PC had a Frame Rate of 20 or less... my brain has still difficulty to grasp stuff thats faster than that ^^ Battle Isle I, thats my speed, loved it well the PC had no problems to handel this game! D&D series killed my 3,5 zoll Drive. Without HD it was a pain so exchange the Disks all the time. Well at least i bought a 20MB HDD!!! i bought my first lubber in Leisure suit larry I took me a while to find out what a lubber is xD LHX Helicopter game, couldnt get enough of it, was a bit faster than Falcon DOOOOM omgz i love it, the PC game shopkeeper needed to hide it below the counter cause it was the english version with red pixel blood! Populus, lets kill em all with a VOLCANO muwhahahahahaha Manhunter New York, that was something totaly different from Kings Quest, strange Sierra sold that one. X Com = DIE Aliens DIE 688 Attack Soup! it was crazy slow on my PC, but still i couldnt get enough of it 3

Another California Dreams classic -- how could I forget about the amazing and mind boggling BlockOut? Gotta find a copy of it online and play it right away!
The First Lady of Hats Posted May 22, 2018 Posted May 22, 2018 Dunno if it was "THE" First, but it's definitely one of the first Lazy Jones! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y7DyoDJCqac As fer rpg's. Prolly Dungeon Master.http://www.abandonia.com/en/games/585/Dungeon+Master.html Followed by the Eye of the Beholder series.http://www.abandonia.com/en/games/98/Eye+of+the+Beholder.html lLater periods I remember spending an inordinate amount of time on Sierra's old point and click games. Particularly this one. So you want to be a hero. It had a sort of text thingy, where yer'd type in words to interact with the world and spend forever and a day trying to find the right bloody keyword that makes the object do the thing it's supposed to do. Thus, even as a mere tadpole that hadn't learnt to tie her shoelaces yet, let alone earned her hat, I remember abusing the hell out of this system typing various synonyms of the word "Fuck", to try and abuse that poor young centaur girl at the market stall. 1
M.BISON Posted May 22, 2018 Posted May 22, 2018 sonic 2, was the only game i had for a very long time still remember my friend letting me borrow golden axe, that was when we realised more than one console exist, i.e he had a master system and i had sega megadrive lol

DanishPastry Posted May 23, 2018 Posted May 23, 2018 Wormgame, Egaroids, Sopwith and Aldo for MS-DOS. Got them on the same 3½ inch floppy disk along with some other games that I cannot remember.
SleepyJim Posted May 23, 2018 Posted May 23, 2018 Not 100% certain. I do remember playing Pong when I was very small, but it might have been something like PAC-MAN or Space Invaders first. Whatever it was, it was likely played on one of these: Possibly using one of these: Still got ours tucked away somewhere... 1
MrEsturk Posted May 23, 2018 Posted May 23, 2018 Nice to see so many old timers that started off in the retro budget-grade home computer days Normally when a topic like this shows up on a forum I find myself surrounded by younger range millennials that got started in the 16bit era or later. So good to be around some fellow Gen Xers. As for me it this little C64 game that got me started. I like to sneak that green sumo reference into my modding work when I can get away with it, heehee: 1
Canaris Posted May 23, 2018 Posted May 23, 2018 Honestly i have no idea which game it was because i was 4-5 at the time and it was on C64. The earliest game i remember was some WW1 flight sim that i was never able to identify, earliest i know was also Bruce Lee. First full game that i owned was TOCA 2 for Playstation 1 that i got with console for free. First one i bought was ofcourse the masterpiece of Final Fantasy 7, the game that started my fascination with jrpgs. Gods i feel old now...
KoolHndLuke Posted May 23, 2018 Posted May 23, 2018 13 minutes ago, Canaris said: Gods i feel old now... There were no video games when I was 4-5 yrs old. I still remember the first Atari games when they came out. Space Invaders, Missile Command and Pong in black and white. Later when I was around 10-12 I think, we started to play Pac-Man, Donkey Kong and Galaga in color when arcades became a thing- Whoo Hoo!
The First Lady of Hats Posted May 23, 2018 Posted May 23, 2018 I should prolly be glad no one's admitted to havine owned this yet. 2
Swanky Posted May 23, 2018 Posted May 23, 2018 First PC games were: Command & Conquer: Red Alert, POD and Archimedean Dynasty (Schleichfahrt). First games ever: Super Mario Land, Tetris for Game Boy. 1
Dallas-Arbiter Posted May 23, 2018 Posted May 23, 2018 First game I bought for a PC was Oblivion, in May of 2008. But that wasn't my first video game, I played on consoles up to that point.
SirDuke Posted May 23, 2018 Posted May 23, 2018 The classic gameboy Tetris in 1989 But the first "good one" was Robin Hood for my Amiga500 in 1991
Reepa7 Posted May 23, 2018 Posted May 23, 2018 Not sure about first game ever on PC, but I remember G-Nome being my first online game ?

Ironically I now wish Bugthesda would have their own "E.T."-type title to teach them to shape up by nearly ruining them.

Hell, not even just bugthesda, I reckon the entire industry these days could use the wake-up call. Given the constant bollocks Acti and EA pull, I'm honestly surprised it hasn't happened already tbh :3 1
HyperActive Posted May 23, 2018 Posted May 23, 2018 My first computer game is. - Commandos Behind Enemy Lines & Beyond The Call Of Duty After that i soon discovered Age Of Empires, StarCraft, Tomb Raider & Jazz JackRabbit ?
kmaaier Posted May 24, 2018 Posted May 24, 2018 Mamba, now better known as Snake. It was on a ZX spectrum 81, it was even before the release of the Commodore 64. And it also was 1981
shariecriss Posted May 24, 2018 Posted May 24, 2018 My very first computer based game was basically Pong, bought at Radioshack. It was a hand-held controller that hooked up to the TV with a few Pong-like games. There was a master controller and a second unit for a second player and a gun for shooting a white block that wandered over the screen. Searching Google for images came up with TV Scoreboard. http://atariage.com/forums/uploads/monthly_11_2013/post-13896-0-87053700-1384748160.jpg
worik Posted May 24, 2018 Posted May 24, 2018 Is it about the first game I played? ..I had a "copy" of? .. owned? .. or bought by my own money? It would be 4 different answers in my case It should be some kind of sports game on Atari. My cousins had computers or game consoles, I couldn't afford one. should be an older text adventure... no graphics ... but something to learn english better and faster than in school difficult to remember the name... so many years ago.. It was gift. Fun fact: I had a game many years before I had a computer Probably Monkey Island, I guess. Fun fact: My certain other half started with that game, too.
