I took out the wall upstairs in Highmoon Hall so I could upgrade Idgrod the Younger to a double bed, just so I could make a clone/twin of her to play around with AI packages. (picture may be coming later) Then I started overhauling the Riften Ratway. I hate spider webs in occupied areas so I took all of those out, the water drips and other things like that. Majorly cleared out the "well" room and replaced the chopping block with a real one. With the opening directly overhead I theorize the citizens "upstairs" might throw wooden trash down that the denizens could chop up for firewood, plus might sneak out at night to steal other wood from ... someplace. Took out the trigger boxes that make the drawbridge raise when you enter and a few other things like that. Added a couple other NPCs but can't get Gian the Fist to be neutral to the PC. I think there's a quest running that changes his AI (factions I've added or removed from Drahff and Hewnon change too) so that changed my ideas. Gian is running the place with a leather wrapped fist. The beggars and homeless of Riften that don't live over in Beggars row migrated into the Ratway for shelter and came under Gian's threats. They somewhat have a cover from the guards due to the Thieves' Guild corruption and the fact they aren't even good enough thieves to make any problems. All they steal are crops and other edible things left out or scraps and tree limbs usable as firewood. Hewnon and Drahff are still posted at the first round room watching for people trying to come in and plying their grift at Gian's orders. Getting past them Gian has usually gone aggro on me around the bridge area, indicating something isn't right. I might move him to make it easier, or harder, to sneak/walk past to the Flagon, or just replace him with a different NPC. Added half a dozen beds, wall lean markers, a couple sitting markers and an AI package to have everyone wander around and sandbox. Drahff in a new sandbox area, featuring Bad Dog's SOS revealing fur armor and "Ratway Ria" leaning on one of the new lean markers. I removed the doors, traps and "salvageable materials" to prevent accidental deaths, plus they would have ripped out anything they weren't going to use. Spoiler Another better lit shot with Ria sitting at the alchemy table. I didn't feel like taking it out though it makes little sense to have it down there. Maybe one of them brought it when kicked out of a prior home and know a little about how to brew healing potions. The cooking pot also in this room might get moved to a more open room where I can put a cooking fire under it. I could move all of the bedrolls to this room for a bunk room. Spoiler Guys just standing around, showing "Dirty Drevis" Spoiler Sewer Safira, my third new NPC (I tried making up names fitting the location and used as template other NPCs with alliterative names) hangs around this room. The vines from the ceiling are long gone as well as some of the extra foliage. Chopping block added in the middle that she uses, when another of the NPCs doesn't wander in and use it. The light in the room changes rather dramatically depending on the time of day (I didn't change that at all) though the trap through the door is gone. This is one place I might put a cooking fire but I don't know if I want smoke going out that hole. A lot of the other rooms have what look like shafts going up, presumably for water coming in assuming these are actual sewers. That would make for good smoke exits but poor places for fires. This is the only door there is. So near yet so far. In the end I had to TCL through them to the door, TCL off and click on the door. For some reason TCL wouldn't get me to anywhere outside. It was black void, land and pop back in here. Sixty-four followers with a collective IQ of about the same. 2
