As it happens in other Beth games, if you install two types of bodies with two different types of textures, or your Archive Invalidation doesn't work, you'll have this texture issue. However it's just a visual issue on the naked skin, it doesn't make the game unplayable. Bodyslide creates loose files, you can remove them and everything comes back as before, check Bodyslide's documentation and guides.

I've got bodyslide on FNV no problem building outfits. I have plenty of experience in F4. In the pictures below, the bodyslide body has textures but in game you can see it looks like that. i've used fair skin for skyrim renamed everything but still not changed. even body textures that are not boyslide are messed up. looking at my mods i dont think i have custom races (or more likely i don't knoimage.png.3e4298cbecbf7f159b7940d68fa256c0.pngw what mod addimage.png.74658c525219e193abca54964b3e4b27.pngs custom races)

Can you share a screenshot of your texture folder?
Maybe that's where the problem is.

I am having a problem with CBBE as my only mod causing an immediate crash to desktop. What would cause this?

Some of the early conversions actually caused CTD. One way to see which ones are is to install the GECK and try to open every outfit, if it would cause a crash then the GECK will crash instead of having to open the whole game.
Some of the outfits that I remember cause CTD are some of the NCR uniforms and a couple of the Adventurer outfits.
So, a solution is to delete those and leave the default outfits or you can make your own conversions.

My problem is that I had not used the bodyslide yet, it simply crashes during the game intro. Do I need to remove files or are there masters that I need in order for it to work?

To be specific this is what I have active on here right now, I turned off everything individually until I got to CBBE and turning it off let the game go past the intro and to the main menu. I had not even used to bodyslide conversion at that time.

An immediate crash to desktop when the game is still loading could mean one of the ESPs requires a DLC that you don't have, or it's not activated. Is this possible?

Other than that, yes the skeleton is pretty much essential, but it should crash when you are already in game.

That most likely is because one of the NPCs has an outfit that causes a CTD. What you can do is try on the different Wastelander outfits to narrow down which one is causing the CTD and then you can either replace the outfit with the vainilla version or make a conversion.

I found the item that makes the game crash how do I set it back to normal so it doesn't crash the game

This is the video I watched last year to learn how to do conversions in BodySlide Outfit Studio. The same steps apply for FNV except you use the CBBE_NV-1 osp slider set as a reference- there is no conversion reference for vanilla to CBBE in FNV. You will have to use the tools to conform the outfit to the CBBE_NV-1 shape manually. This is easier than it sounds, I assure you. Here I am choosing the slider set I need to use to convert an outfit to CBBE.

Screenshot (58).png

Next I find the outfit that I want to convert. You may need to extract some nifs from the bsa containing the meshes like he shows in the video.

Screenshot (59).png

In Outfit Studio you should see the reference body and the outfit. Now you have to start using the tools to conform the outfit to the body. Some are easier to do than others.

Screenshot (61).png

First, find and delete the old skin or body from the project. It is the default vanilla body parts that show on the vanilla outfit. Don't delete the meat-caps or anything else!! Just the vanilla body parts like the arms or any skin around the neck. In the end the only body you should have is the CBBE.

Screenshot (65).png

Once you have the outfit fitting the body, then you need to choose all parts of the outfit and select from the sliders menu to conform selected, set base-shape, then conform all.

Screenshot (62).png

Once you have everything fitting the way you want it, then select all pieces of the outfit again and right- click on them and go to copy bone weights. This is what gives your outfits BnB physics if you had them installed.

Screenshot (63).png

Depending on how closely an outfit is to the body, you will need to adjust the search perimeters to copy everything. I usually increase this a little to make sure everything is copied.

Screenshot (64).png

After this you are ready to save the project. Save and close out BodySlide entirely. Now open it again and your new outfit should be ready to build. Note that this is still experimental and that not every outfit will work. Some will look really ugly when stretching the mesh and will need work in Blender to add more vertices. I am still working on the conversions, but, some are causing problems and will be ready later. Have fun!:classic_tongue:

I know this post is old. BUT.  The Video is no longer on you tube. Would you happen to have a copy, or a new link . or are there any other teaching videos like this for New Vegas CBBE Body slide? :)

Well... tbh there really isn't a good video to show how to use BS & OS for FNV since hardly anybody seems to know it's available. Like.... if you just want to install BS and use the CBBE body this mod provides, then just install BS like you would in F04 (same file path) and then this mod following the instructions provided. That's actually pretty simple I think.

Was there something specific you wanted to ask?

Not sure if this is annoying to ask, but does anyone know how to create their own body and outfit mod; and if so, can he/she provide info on how to do that and what program is needed to properly do this.

I search online for info that could lead me into learning how to make my own body and outfit mod, but most of the stuff I came across only made mention of how to install already made body mods.
