Why remove dlc content? If there is no restriction, there are not a lot of things and of course it will not work because of the holes. But you know what? This is also a form of entertainment even if stability is lost. I think. Although not everybody had taken a lot ... and they should have thought about them! Enjoy ... DLC-free version!

Full disclosure: I'm fairly new at this - barely tech literate (probably worse) - so if I am being dumb please forgive me. That said, I read everything I'm told to, I installed the requisite dependencies and this is a clean save as far as I know (recently reinstalled the game and all mods after the last vortex update didn't agree with me) so it's all new, all fresh; nothing's been haphazardly updated.

Tried the suggestions posted earlier - reinstalling, de-activating followed by new save then reactivating - no joy. Still no 'T' equip button, still nothing to show for the 1600 odd caps I just spent at the Memory Den -_-

That's not something you can solve in-game.
The items themselves are flagged in the CK as player usable only.
Meaning they can be equipped on the player, but not NPC's.

I mean, you might be able to get around that by changing them individually in the CK to enable them for NPC's as well, but it'd be a fair bit of work when you don't know the CK. It's a bitch to navigate.
And I'd give you pointers but I'm sick and tired [literally, HAH].

I've not actually considered that I could change them in the CK until you brought it up either, as I did wanna do that.

If you don't work it out, maybe remind me in a week or two and I'll have a look.

It might be possible to do this with FO4Edit. At least it sounds like it would be just a single record change.

I don't think you can do it in xEdit.

Specifically, I'm fairly sure you can't change those flags in xEdit, only the CK, to my knowledge.

Can someone please make a patch that allows you to unequip gags from npcs when the prompt comes up saying they can't talk? Please? I hate having to go into the console every time.

Animation is only temporarily reset if I recruit her and change her outfit, but immidiately we do a fast travel the animation is glitched again. 

 

If I equip a weapon and enter combat mode, then she will also enter combat mode and walk normally, but once weapon is removed she will start jumping again.  

 

I think it is "Rusty Leather Leg Cuffs" which is causing this issue. 

 

It does not help to remove or re-equip this item on Piper. 

 

How can I fix this?

I'm having the exact same problem. Can anyone confirm whether there is a fix? It seems that DD for F4 is no longer being maintained/developed. So far the only "fix" I've found is to not use DD for F4.

 

Anyone know if this is a known issue?

If this happens on you or an NPC/companion, re-equip a relevant restraint [leg, in this case], exit the menu, and go back in and un-equip it.
Apparently DD doesn't handle multiple simultaneous item equips too well, especially on NPC's. [although that could also be the game engine]

 

Last I was aware, while Kimy would like to work on FO4 DD more, she basically has no time to do so given she also needs to manage/work on the Skyrim DD as well, so FO4 DD's not had much work done on it for some time.

Thanks, I tried your suggestion (equip the original device, exit menu, wait for change in animation, and then unequip, remove the device, etc). The animation reverts to normal until I fast travel or save and reload. It seems the animation tag is baked into my saved game and cannot be removed?

Might be able to do an unequipall via console, and see if that works [might need to re-do the other steps, of applying & removing an item again].

It worked! I'll have to run some more tests, but unquipall seems to have removed the animation bug.

So on the topic of the issue with gags, I'm of the understanding that due to the way Fallout 4 works, attachments can no longer assign expressions, making it difficult if not impossible to have a gag hold a character's mouth open. This, of course, somewhat bugs me since I'm a fan of ball gags, especially large ones. 

 

Does anyone know of any solution to this? Best I can think of is some sort of editor mod that allows for manipulation of character expressions. That way you could at least manually open a character's mouth to simulate the gag.

There's a recent post on Nexus that lists all possible changes you can make, but the one you'll be most interested in I think will be: mfg morphs 2 100
Chuck that into the console with the gagged person selected.

I posted about that here the other day.  For ballgags you'll want to use Jaw Open, Jaw Forward, Upper Lip Roll Out, and Lower Lip Roll out.  Those are the morphs I used in the image in that post.  The values don't need to be extreme, I think I was using Jaw Open around 60.

I made and am currently testing Fusion Girl conversions of the devices... sort of. I'm not able to convert the restrictive boot sets or the straight jacket sets at this time, because I don't know quite enough about Outfit Studio on how to remove limbs. Still working on it though.

A bit late ^^, but how do I change equipment if the person is gagged? I mean I cant talk to them, or is there any guide to this mod?

There is [or should be] a brief grace period after the initial 'gagged' talk, wherein you can re-try conversation and it'll work regardless of gagged state.

 

All else fails, select em in the console and use 'openactorcontainer 1' to unequip it.
