It's handled similarly to color variations for some of the items, you may randomly get connected or disconnected cuffs. You may be able to use an armor workbench to switch between them like you can the colors, I haven't tried.

 

Edit: Do note that modifying them requires they not be worn at the time!

I've had some cuffs put on me which slow my movement speed considerably and prevent sprinting, while others I end up in don't seem to alter my movement.

hmm. I crafter all the leg cuffs and none of them changed my character. Only thing that worked was the dress. Has the leg cuffs caused your character to hobble or bunny hop?

I opened DD's plugin with ESP Explorer (warning: never save after doing that with DD, it's useful for quick testing but can explode your save with extra script instances, save before and then restore when you're done) and for each set of leg cuffs there's also a version with "(connected)" next to the name. I guess the connected versions aren't craftable for some reason? Anyway those are the ones which cause the hobble effect for me when worn. I also confirmed that I don't seem to be able to alter a disconnected pair to connected or vice versa with the armor workbench.

 

This raises an interesting point though... in RC8, why is it that wrist cuffs are normally connected and have a "disconnected" variant, but leg cuffs are the reverse?

 

Edit: Also in further testing, I think the "connected" leg cuffs may have a significant bug. I can put them on, and they take effect like any other devious device, but when I select them in my inventory in a worn state so as to try to remove or escape from them, it gives me the prompt to wear them again instead, so they're not removable through normal means. Worse, Sex Attributes and DD Bench Unlock don't see it, so I can't seem to remove it with those either.

I appreciate the time you put into this. Yes, that is weird. I make by using the 50 shades BDSM animation mod for struggling. Sucks that we can't use the hobble or bunny hop animations for leg cuffs :( Anyone know why? I remember being able to use it with the old version of the mod

By this, do you mean the AAF support that comes with Vanilla/Kinky/Creature Sex Themes? Or is there a separate Devious Devices AAF patch that I should be avoiding?

I don't have the link handy, but it was just an archive that preserved the hand positions for DD's items so AAF wouldn't clear them during scenes.

 

Edit: I went diving in my downloads dumpster and found an old copy; the archive is literally named Devious Devices AAF Support.7z. That functionality is effectively included in RC8, so it's not needed.

Hey I have RC8 too! but then, I see that pipboy vanishes even when handcuffs (real handcuffs mod) re equiped. For now I have made a batch file with the following commands to get the pipboy back on:
player.removeitem 21b3b
player.additem 21b3b
player.equipitem 21b3b

i try this with my old saves.but have new problem when start new game after opening overser chest adn removing dress my player move still hooble .very very slow i try reuse item try remove item but nothing . on old files after vault work fine but no belted quest(  sorry for bad english (

Hmm...not sure what chest you are talking. Anyway my game was crashing multiple times, got to know it was wasteland illumination - shadow version, now I am going to start a new game and check how it works. Will let you know

RC8 changes over previous RC's:

-Added tentacle device with custom script

-Added gag graceperiod for npc

-Added mcm button to refresh bound effects

-Added mcm setting for first person hobble slow effect

-Some materials edits to differentiate leather and latex items more

 

New requirements over the original:

-Latest AAF

-Mod Configuration Menu (optional but highly recommended)

-High Heel Sounds for Fo4 (optional ESP added) 

-Don't wear any devices (or NPC) and prefrably a clean save if you are running an unpatched version.

  • DD_LegAnimOverride
  • Devious Devices AAF Support
  • Devious Devices Face Morphs
  • Devious Devices NoRun Patch
  • Devious Devices 2.0 Patched (or DD at all, it's a full replacer so saves downloading)

if this is Belted quest, try equip but don't lock the ankle cuffs, then remove them. Should let you run again.

Is there a way to prevent other items of clothing from being removed when wearing something from DD? I'm using LaTeXXX fAnTaSy as well. Is there a way from preventing things from being removed from either mod if something is equipped? Is there a command essentially?

not without "cheating" through another mod or whatever, you're dealing with slot #'s aside from any restrictions from a mod, you can't have 2 things in 1 armor slot

yes exactly, equip then unequip those, it fixes the hop animation bug. any leg cuffs should work.

I'm also getting the suuuper slow movement as soon as I leave the cryochamber with Belted quest also. Can't move in 3rd person at all, just turn around. First person is about 1/3 of what the usual "bound speed" is. Any ideas?

There's a slider in MCM to adjust the speed. Buuut... you need to set it before entering the vault.

so that slider does sort of fix things, but the shuffle animation that it defaults to is about 10% of the speed that 1st person view gives. at least with whatever conflicts i may have. going to try the FO4 bunnyhop and see if that's closer to the same speeds.
