ASlySpyDuo Posted November 28, 2019 Posted November 28, 2019 I know I'm a bit early but I have no idea how much free time I'll have in the coming month. 5
Kuroyami Posted November 29, 2019 Posted November 29, 2019 A bit of a W.I.P, both in a possible screenshot set, and a potential character for the FO4 version of the mod. "Come on. You know how this works. You'll just have to wait. You...can do that, right?" Maybe. 1

Bad news is, due to RL stuff keeping me too busy and exhausted to work on pretty much anything, the release has been delayed and will no longer make it to the previous "Before December" ETA. Good news is, the new ETA is sometime around the 6th-7th barring unexpected RL stuff popping up, and since I have some time until then I should be able to squeze in a few more small features for the 1.0 release. So far the only planned one is to try to refit the NukaWorld headgear and do a second pass on vanilla ones to make sure I didn't miss any ill-fitting ones, though. This also means if anyone has any suggestion for features they'd like to have available for the mod when it drops, now's the time to let us know. Chances are anything that can be suggested either has been added already or simply isn't feasible (at least with my skills), but I'd say it's still worth bringing it up, just in case. Once the FO4 file is up, the next thing on my To Do list will be posting that one update for this version of the mod that's been in the works for a while now. As usual, I've forgotten what was actually in there, but bear in mind it won't have much content outside of some new tints made for FO4 and backported to Skyrim. More on this as it happens.

I already copied some tint options from the Vulpine race, but not all of them (mostly just black and grey options). If you want to use any color that isn't listed as an option, you can always just use LooksMenu's manual HSVA color selector, so the amount of preset tints shouldn't be a problem. Quote also not really a feature will this be put on the nexus as well this shark mod? My current plan is to post it in the Nexus too at some point, yes, but I'm not sure yet. I'll post it here in LL first and then I'll look into the Nexus thing later down the road.

Blaze69 Posted December 1, 2019 Author Posted December 1, 2019 1 hour ago, Dagon123 said: Sorry but I never heard of that is that a separate mod or something in the looksmenu Once you select one of the skin tint/color presets, a new option will appear in the bottom menu/bar that reads "Custom Color" (it's mapped to the "C" key by default). If you use it, LooksMenu will let you manually pick whatever color you want using four different sliders to change Hue, Saturation, Value and Alpha for the tint (that's why I called it "HSVA" selector), just like in Skyrim's RaceMenu. So if you use the manual selector you can pick any color without the need for it to be available as a tint preset in the list in the first place.
TheLastKhajiit Posted December 1, 2019 Posted December 1, 2019 This might sound kinda stupid, but will I need the Fallout DLC's for the shark when it's released?
Kuroyami Posted December 1, 2019 Posted December 1, 2019 1 hour ago, TheLastKhajiit said: This might sound kinda stupid, but will I need the Fallout DLC's for the shark when it's released? Currently, I have story content(NPCs/quests/etc) planned for at least Nuka World, and it may be possible that Far Harbor might get something in the future as well. The Workshop DLCs and Automatron probably won't get any added content. However, like the Skyrim version the story content might be added through an optional plugin, so you can play with the race without any DLCs required. Though as of now, there is an optional Gear plugin, that changes a few in-game items to fit the Selachii, and this requires the Armor Keywords and Armorsmith Extended mods, and as some items from Far Harbor have been changed, it is required as well. Some items from Nuka World are also being changed, so the Gear plugin may get that requirement as well with the full release of the FO4 version of the mod.
Blaze69 Posted December 1, 2019 Author Posted December 1, 2019 3 hours ago, TheLastKhajiit said: This might sound kinda stupid, but will I need the Fallout DLC's for the shark when it's released? Following up on what Kuroyami said: The main race mod only requires the base game and LooksMenu (to be able to properly access all head regions and options and to get extra/alternate hair colors). Start Me Up will also be strongly recommended for story/lore reasons by using the "random Wastelander" option and dialogue edits, but it's not a hard requirement so it can be safely skipped provided you don't mind the game's main plot making no sense at all without it. There's also a "Gear" plugin that edits vanilla items (mostly helmets and face/eyewear) to fit the shark heads. It needs to edit the vanilla item records to work, so right now it does require Armorsmith Extended and AWKCR, I am planning to make alternate "AWKCR-only", "vanilla+DLCs-only" and "vanilla-only" variants before release, though, so lack of DLC shouldn't be a problem for that either. The only requirement I can't remove from the Gear plugin right now is Eyewear and Mask Retexture, as I used the meshes from there and I don't know what will happen when used with vanilla materials and textures instead. The (future/hypothetical) "story" or "NPC" plugin may end up requiring the DLCs as well indeed, but that won't be happening anytime soon so we'll have to see how it goes once we get to that point. TL;DR: nope, DLCs are not required to be able to use the base race mod. They shouldn't be required to use the Gear plugin either, but I haven't created the "no-DLCs" plugin yet.

Guest Posted December 2, 2019 Posted December 2, 2019 Some shark boy shots with a SAM body in SE. Spoiler
ASlySpyDuo Posted December 4, 2019 Posted December 4, 2019 Punk is not dead (aside from Skyrim clothes selection department) and neither am I. Let's celebrate my GPU and monitor upgrade with a new character and a spicy, wannabe artsy set. Spoiler 2

Last, but not least, is the theme of these shots in any way related to the upcoming release of a certain winged race and you looking into stockpiling suitable clothing for them, or just a coincidence? In any case, I like the result. 1 hour ago, D C said: Can't wait for it to get ported to fallout 4 Well, the FO4 file is close to being release-ready, so unless some game-breaking bugs are found or RL gets particularly annoying and keeps me even busier than I am right now, it should happen somewhat soon. Still, as always, can't give a definitive ETA because chances are if I do the universe will make sure I actually don't make it and have to delay it again, lol. So just stay tuned, it will should happen Soon™️.
D C Posted December 5, 2019 Posted December 5, 2019 Well if you need beta testing I can do that for you Anyway i was gonna do a goty run any way And hey i was wondering if you get free in future and help me with porting my DeathClaw hybrid race for Skyrim

In any case, I like the result. This character was born from "after a lemon shark, I should try making a great white next" line of though and accidentally ended up with the punk hair. That led to "I actually like punk, I should check out what clothing fits that theme" and I ended up finding grand total of 2 outfits that I like (also notable, that corset has "uniboob" version for big tiddy cleavages, just like the FO4 vertex dissolving you mentioned sometime). Also tattoos because I apparently can't resist putting something on white characters' skin. Wasn't really planned for the not-so-mysterious winged friends but now that you mentioned it, might be pretty good on them so why not. So to answer your question: ended up being a happy coincidence this time. Also I'm undecided on what body fits this new mysterious character so I though I'd get some community input just to spice it up. Here are the choices: Spoiler Which one fits her the best? Also after doing these closeup shots, I have to commend the skin textures. Whoever did them did a very good job. 1

Can still do the "testing" while playing normally and let me know of any issues you come across; that would definitely help. Quote And hey i was wondering if you get free in future and help me with porting my DeathClaw hybrid race for Skyrim That's unlikely, but I wouldn't rule it out completely. Hit me up about this sometime in the near future and it can be discussed, but don't keep your hopes up just in case. 47 minutes ago, ASlySpyDuo said: Wasn't really planned for the not-so-mysterious winged friends but now that you mentioned it, might be pretty good on them so why not. Quote Also I'm undecided on what body fits this new mysterious character so I though I'd get some community input just to spice it up. That's no easy question. Hmm. I'm an outspoken fan of UNPBB due to it having curves and yet still being athletic/realistic-ish-y... but on the other hand, "big tiddy goth punk gf" is a thing for a reason. All I know is Great Whites are, well, big, so I think I wouldn't go for UNPCM. But anything larger than that is fair game, I'd say. Quote Also after doing these closeup shots, I have to commend the skin textures. Whoever did them did a very good job. That would be mostly HHaley. Pretty much all the detail on the textures comes from the original Fair Skin, all I did was add the gray-and-white color over it and tweak some details here and there.

UNPBB it is then, don't mind me just dumping some wardrobe tests here since it's holiday and I have nothing better to do. Spoiler Also experimental triple thing, I call this one "the fish aisle." Spoiler Yes, that tail is strategically placed on purpose. 2
TheLastKhajiit Posted December 6, 2019 Posted December 6, 2019 A while ago you mentioned adding some new presets to the Selachii, any idea when we'll see them?
