I've been playing Silksong for pretty much the whole day. The game is really fun, I love exploring the map, Hornet is fun to play as, and the art style is amazing. That said, holy shit is this game hard. It might be because I'm playing it on my laptop with a keyboard instead of a controller, but goddamn some of these bosses are an ordeal and a half. Hollow Knight was pretty hard too, but Silksong feels a bit tougher. That, or I'm just not as patient as I used to be when playing video games lol.

As always, a thousand thoughts, a thousand thoughts, ideas and desires are swarming in my head... but I'm bored...

Good.

I concur. Unless you misread the post you replied to and thought it said "There will be a second season of Alien: Earth." Whatever touch Ridley Scott had when he made Alien and Blade Runner, he doesn't have it any more.

There was a time when wearing pants wasn't lady like, now we got jeans that show off every curve, crevasse, and dimple, and yoga pants... shorts that allow the ass cheeks to hang out (saw plenty of that in high school)... Ok, so maybe that stuff isn't "lady like", but it is feminine.

I get what this is implying, but I have also seen kids get into some pretty heated fights, only to forget about it later on. It's because they don't have much of a survival instinct yet. Getting older, or "maturing", is great in some ways, but sucks ass in others...

Not exactly. There are childish adults, that is, adults that never matured fully, psychologically, and there can be a number of reasons for that. Things like upbringing, trauma at a young age, and genetics affecting physical brain development. But nobody retains their naive childhood innocence completely. Everyone learns certain social habits to better protect themselves over their lifespan, or to stay out of dangerous situations, or toxic relationships. Sometimes, these defense mechanisms can be healthy, and other times they can be maladaptive, and even predatory. Ultimately, everyone is a product of the environment they grew up in; environmental conditions shape the psychology of humans, the same way it has driven the direction of evolution over countless eons. Even with the process of evolution, there is a concept called divergent evolution, where the same kind of adaptions have appeared more than once to suit a specific set of environmental conditions, and the same is true with the minds of people.

Would that not be convergent evolution, e.g. wings on birds, bats and insects?

> Watched "Dracula" 2025. Disappointed. Love "Dracula" 1992, much better. The only thing that I liked in the new version was his extreme love for his wife, which was shown much better than in the first version.

🤔

Crocodilians came to mind while I was writing that, but yeah, features like that are also a part of it.

I feel like im not gonna get good responses from this but...

Ive been thinking about that we live in a world where people dont help others... I can understand that not everyone can help. I just hate the "no one is coming to help, so help yourself" A lot of my life has stagnated because i dont understand how to see the world the way others do. The amount of times i have fucked up my mods for skyrim trying to learn how to install more or better things. I wish more people were willing to take time to talk to someone like they dont understand. To walk with each other... I dunno... i feel like no one understands "Our grandfathers were soldiers, so our fathers could be farmers, so we could be artists." anymore. We took the hard path so that others dont have to...

When the pie is big, everyone is willing to share.  When the pie is small, everyone wants their own share.

Context:  It is easy to be generous when we have plenty to give, easy to understand others when you yourself are still growing in understanding.  However, once things become tight, then those that are still giving are seen as being "taken advantage of" or "being walked over" or (my favorite) "enabling bad behavior".  Same with understanding, when I was young and the whole world was new and yet undefined in my mind, I would treat "others" as interesting and worthwhile of my attention.  Now that I am older, I am in a rare position where understanding others, seeing the world through their eyes, translates to me doing a better job, but........it is harder, and many times I am left with "why the f are they doing that when they have so much to be thankful for".

So, I wouldn't say this is a bad response to you, just modifying it a bit.   I have to stop my initial desire to reply to some people on here who I consider friends, when they complain how their life is so hard.  I don't because their experiences aren't mine, and I don't know their choices that led them to this point in their life.
