Either I don't get it or it wasn't funny. Then again for all I know it is a real breakfast cereal that marathon runners eat considering how much they carbo load.

 

As for saner times I often question if humans were ever sane considering the satanic panic regarding Pokémon or the real world fear induced by the fictional War of the Worlds radio drama. I don't know. Time and place I guess? Then again people get offended no matter what I do. *le sigh*

My favorite example of people doing weird shit is the dancing plague of 1518. Some Roman lady just started dancing in the middle of the street and a bunch of people joined her for months on end. Some people even danced themselves to death. Possible explanations range from demonic possession to mass hysteria to "overheated blood".
