Hmm... as a kid from the 70s, teen in the 80s, I would say there wasn't much difference....I mean Twitch looked a bit different.  Her is one of the early Twitch streamers with his viewers.

As for the other half (the guys were at the video arcades) were still spending much of their time on their phones.   Here is the early Tic Tok but you had to re do it for every viewer/listener.....

> Don't get why a large number of women have problems and make a big drama about toilet seats being up. Some of them said: "I hate to sit on the cold porcelain toilet shell!" Well, lady, do you look where you sit before you sit down?? If you do it in public places like benches in the parks and similar, why is so hard for you to do the same in your house toilet? Btw, my Prince puts the toilet seat down in our house in 99%, but sometimes he simply forgets to do it. When it happens, my Ivy and I do not make a drama about it. We simply put it down and voila.

> I can understand that some people are scared to say to their friends what bothers them about them, but telling it to others surely doesn't improve friendship and trust. saying later: " I didn't want to hurt you." is a very lame excuse.

Watching the fallout of the Game Awards just serves as a reminder of how silly Console Wars really are. They truly are ripe fodder for a parody series such as Hyper Dimension Neptunia.

Why did I watch this? Instead of playing my own mediocre game I'm listening to other people complaining how their mediocre game didn't win an award that means bugger all nothing. I don't really get the hype behind videogame adaptations of other media. I vaguely remember saying that video game adaptations tend to be Okay at best and I'm sticking by it.

That is just how empty all of the console warring really is.

Enthusiasm for game adaptations may come from a similar place to the console warring, funny enough as it is a desperation to have this thing that one builds one's entire identity around shown a sign of approval by the masses rather than a desire to enjoy said thing itself.

Let the corporations go to war. That is what they get paid to do.

The guy in the first vid is still pushing the BG3 narrative - making out that BG3 is innovative and ground-breaking etc. BG3 is a bog-standard cRPG - writing, graphics, music, size, etc, - none of it is noticeably superior to what you would expect from a 2023 product. In 4 months Larian have pushed out 5 major patches most of which dealt with literally thousands of bugs, with the last patch weighing in at 30GB and requiring more disk space for the install than the full game did. The game still has many, many problems across PC, Mac and PS5 (plus Steamdeck and GeForce Now). The Xbox version released a day or two ago but as the Larian forum is yet again inaccessible I've not had a chance to see how it is faring.

Edit. Just noticed that Hotfix #13 dropped a couple of days ago. That's the second hotfix since Patch 5.

Yeah, despite one's love for their close ones, obligations can prove draining of one's energy regardless of the willingness being there.

Yeah... stopped playing it until they finally stop that shit and, as I have said, it ain't nothing new since it's practically a Bioware game from the 2000's with more content. I'm actually a bit sad they won game of the year for it since that probably means it's the last good game they'll ever make lol.

Still no sign of modding tools - Owlcat's WH40K Rogue Trader released complete with modding tools.

Meanwhile Xbox users are complaining about loading the game deleting all one's saves which means Larian have fucked up on every platform.
