Yeah... stopped playing it until they finally stop that shit and, as I have said, it ain't nothing new since it's practically a Bioware game from the 2000's with more content. I'm actually a bit sad they won game of the year for it since that probably means it's the last good game they'll ever make lol.

Hey, I still play some of those Bioware games from the 2000s.   I understand the desire to recognize games that are considered superior, but to put on an award show?  Oh well, I guess it is there money and they can waste it how they see fit.

IMO the real award should go to the game that remains on everyone's hard drive years later.   XCom:UFO defense, Buzz Aldrin's Race into Space and Star Wars Rebellion and Colonization are some of the 80s/90s games still on my hard drive.   Is there an award for best old classic games?

Ah, yeah, I haven't had the chance or mind to try the others but I sporadically hop on X-COM UFO Defense, it's been great eversince I found it in my dad's old stuff...

As far as I'm aware that category tends to be a top# between friends, sadly "full-fledged" awards with some sort of a token/trophy usually are reserved to be used for marketing the "next big thing," which they all tend to be flops these days.

Baldur's Gate 3 shows a sad, stark contrast when compared to the vast majority of other contemporary titles: Decrepit avaricious minds steer the direction of game development nowadays, sucking the soul - which BG3 has - from ideas even before they think of them. Which of course is no surprise, I guess.

Before, games were of passion and dedication to the project...

Whilst by now gaming's been explored by money grinding sorts over the years, which devolved the prior passion and love of their creators for this form of entertainment. It's been turned into a "legitimate business" whereas before it were more "rustic," in a sense.

I tend to enjoy Indie games more than what the big names have been chugging out, I hope Larian doesn't stop making good games like BG3 and the Divinity series, I love their games.

There is a saying that pioneers get slaughtered while settlers proper.     Also, there was another saying, though I do not know if I came up with it or stole it from someone that states:

Explorers find the new thing (barely 1 % and in terms of PC games, these are the individual computer scientists who made games when not working on room sized computers)

Pioneers adapt to living with the new thing (5% who follow or were former settlers who decide to see if they can make games for a living)

Settlers make the new thing adapt to them (14% of the people who want to make games and sell them so they can keep making games...and drive a nice car)

Boring people make the new thing old (80 % of the people who see money is being made by doing something, so they do that something to make more money)

Many of us in this forum have already talked about how corporate execs are now making decisions on where to take the games.   Occasionally they will score big (Assassin's Creed Odyssey is, imo, an example of a great product), but lets face it, most of the people in this forum are NOT the 80%.    Now, we need the new set of "Explorers" to hack the latest generation of games to build modding tools, which will violate copyright laws and run the risk of shuttering websites, but it will have ot happen.

I’ve been wondering if the song Hit The Road Jack has anything to do with with Jack Daniel’s the whiskey.

I have been many times in that situation and I'm not too fond of it because no side lets me be independent. In the end, both sides did not speak with me because I talked to both of them. That's not fair.:classic_unsure: The only time when I prefer to be in between is sex.
