I asked killahinstinct on reddit to remove loverslab from the censor list, because it wasn't malicious in any way.

And so he did it seems, I can see the link in my chat.

you can still get banned for mentioning this site or linking it directly

ayy freedom of speech

I wonder if anyone has tried to invoke that on them?

"Ya know... you're infringing our rights to freedom of speech. Should I call a lawyer and see if I have a case?"

You won't Anatriax, they'll just laugh at you since the 1st Amendment only protects you from Government interference with your speech, established case law.

Ahem... free speech doesn't work like that, Dagren.

This, also "free speech" is an American thing, while the internet encompasses most of the world, so basically that only applies  in America.. or anywhere else that has similar laws, and as the comic above stated, only for government.

i dont think it is too bad thing to link to loverslab. yes this site is mostly about adult stuff but its not like we try to harm other people. and many times i come here for solutions to non-sex mod related issues. but its their choice so yea.

After seeing the nexus pussyfoot around the issue for years upon years, I honestly couldn't give half a shit anymore.

Do whatever the hell you want, everybody else seems to.

Are you sure it isn't a reaction that is in place to "Protect the children!"? I will admit I don't use reddit much but from what I understand the removals are done at the category level so could they be putting it in there to protect children from discovering this place?  Course I say this only as a devils advocate and laugh as I do so. I know loverslab just from the name has a rep for being the "porn mod" site. Also many sites go with the US version of censoring to avoid the angry ban hammer. Killing is ok but show a nipple and you are going to burn in hell.

Not only that but these days court cases are won by the party with the most money. Valve will just show up with an army of super expensive lawyers and the trial will be over before it started.

Doesn't Skyrim have an "M" rating and on the back of the box clearly state "Sexual Themes"? That's just the vanilla version, and I've seen plenty of mature stuff on the Nexus. I don't understand all the hate and taboo about LL, or in some circles "The Place That Shall Not Be Named". This site is great, and has some really well developed mods, and an awesome community. The people here are super helpful and supportive and I definitely prefer this site to many others. I personally feel many of the mods offered here add depth to the game, and are indeed "lore friendly" if that even really matters. Look at vampires and ancient cultures and lots of other myths and you will find lots of sexual related themes, but even though this site offers and builds upon sexy time mods LoversLab to me is just a great community of people getting together for the love of games and to help each other over come issues.

Am I the only one that thinks steam is right to forbid linking to LL?

I really enjoy the content here, because I know how to make difference between reality and fiction. But children don't and that's why this place is not at all for them, and why it shouldn't be easy for them to find it.

Let's face it, a lot of children download nude mod for their characters in various games (at least I did, and I created a false adult acount on nexus to do so, it was for NWN2 IIRC).

The thing is I'm really happy to not have found any hardcore content back then, because I would have tried it out of curiosity.

TL;DR:

kids search for a nude mod, find LL and all the extreme stuff in there (rape bestiality slavery etc) => not good.

Come, come, I thought we didn't care about any of this?  :)

Dang Doc - you are a Moderator on here!

I may be a couple of years late noticing, but Congrats!

I've read things on reddit more hurtful and hateful than anything I've ever seen posted here at LL.

Am I the only one who actually rather LL not be link to by the more popular and mainstream sites?

No, you're not.

Steam has many games with nudity among other things heck there is even a free game where your female character can have sex with another female character it also has a badge/medal that you can earn.

I actually prefer LL not being mentioned on steam, while I love steam LL is not a site that should ever go mainstream in my opinion remember how easy it is for the fox news mentality to kick in, a lot of Parents of gamers have no idea what can be done to a "game" which most of them see as a toy for children, can you imagine how the parents associations and there pitchfork mentality you know the one that gets harry potter books banned and D&D banned for being occult can you imagine the witch hunt if stuff from this place went public ?

He's kinda right. While most people who go around specifically looking for this site or get linked to it are indeed mature enough to withstand porn, there's some really unsavory characters out there who will crucify you for promoting sexuality of any kind, even if the themes aren't nearly as "dark" as what LL offers with Defeat or MNC or whatever.

People fighting a war against sexual things, even if it's just in a fantasy game that is M18 in the first place and has shit like necrophiliac implications already present in the base game, have really gained prominence over the past few years.

I'm personally ok with any kind of sexual content, taboo or not, if it's rooted in fantasy/art/whatever and doesn't hurt any real people or entities in the process. Obviously I'll judge people for liking things like lolicon just as people will judge me for liking things such as dog weeners going into ridiculously proportioned lizard women, but this doesn't mean I'll stop you from enjoying what you enjoy, and it most certainly doesn't mean that you should police what I enjoy either.

Sadly, people freaking the fuck out even about the most PG-13 forms of sexuality are really common and IMO sites like LL are better off staying under the radar, atleast until people get a little bit less vicious.

'Fox News types' aren't the problem with LL getting more exposure.  It is 'internet types'; the Anita Sarkeesianists, social justice loosers, etc.  They are the ones who lash out at 'objectifying women in video games' in general and specifically have have a problem with Lover's Lab.  Bible-thumping tight-assed conservatives aren't the ones to worry about, secular tight-assed liberals are the ones raising hell about games...and this site.

Additionally, all of the bigger game forums have the same problems with people using them as extensions of social media and those people use that mentality when they post.  Look at Nexus, look at Steam, look at the off topic sections here at LL if what I'm saying doesn't seem true.  Social justice, political correctness, and their inherent hypocrisy infect all major forums.  Being overly sensitive and exhibiting faux moral outrage is starting to be the norm because the members don't call bullshit when they see it and the staffs are willfully ignorant, or that's what they want.

As Lover's Lab becomes more popular this will only increase and I doubt there's any way to stop it.  ONE way to stop it might be to remove the forum sections these types of people use as vehicles for socializing.  Remove the off topic threads have no social media type sections whatsoever.  Make the site exclusive to games and gaming and that's it in totality.  If there aren't sections where people can foist agendas and fuck things up for everyone else they'll move on and take their internet ignorance elsewhere.

Yep, exactly.  From the comments there:

Mods like these are an insult to modding, to respect of women, and only legitimize sexist and violent behavior. The only real rapist here is the author of this mod, and besides you are his worthy accomplice.

And I've seen just as outrageously pathetic bullshit posted here at LL and no one says anything about it and the staff ignores it.  These types are already here and they contribute nothing but Off Topic posts.  *shrugs*  DILLIGAF? Not really, just pointing something out that isn't going away.
