elphilou Posted December 23, 2015 Posted December 23, 2015 Well that's worth collecting then ! Little bit of testing, horns and tails get removed by: SD+, when you get enslaved (and of course by the time i test it there is a new version...) Vanilla prison Simple Slavery (when you wake up in cell) Bathing in Skyrim (you can prevent horns and tail stripping by unticking their slots in mcm) Wolfclub (when you wake up in the cave) Haven't tested other mods for now, except Slaverun Reloaded that had no issue (at least at the beginning) Not only are the tails and horns set up as quest items that supposedly cannot be removed, they also have the SexLabNoStrip keyword that is also supposed to make them irremovable. When I have a bit more time I will add an OnContainerChange script to them as a last resort to make them stay attached. Merry Christmas dePog Actually, i had no issue with sexlab, that leaves them alone, it look more like a matter of unequipping them rather than removing them from my inventory. Look like any script that will change what is equipped on their slots (40 for the tail, 42 for the horns) will unequip them too. On the other hand, i guess that's what allow you to change them at the temple of decision. Maybe a workaround would be a lesser power to reequip them, or a stone at the temple... Anyway, i'll just avoid those scripts for now, so, merry Christmas X)

Nefermandias Posted December 24, 2015 Posted December 24, 2015 Hi there. I've found Tiefling to be so awesome that I decided I had to write down my little feedback about it. This is just my humble opinion as an user, so please don't take it too seriously. Let's get started. Tiefling is a race mod that adds flavor and provides a nice background for a half-demon like character. That's something I've been searching for quite some time, and perhaps that's why I found this mod so appealing. However, it's far from being just your average race mod, as it provides significant modifications to the game's core mechanics, namely, to the perk system itself, and that's what I really want to talk about. Right out of the bat, you don't have much of an option. Tief starts with a massive Sneak bonus, two powerful claw weapons and the inability to equip anything else, including armor. You MUST be a stealthy type, as you can not afford taking any hits since your health regen is almost non-existent. The concept is cool and I really enjoyed playing like that early game. The problems start to kick off as soon as you get some levels though. You simply don't know what to do with the perk points you earn! The mage skill trees are render almost useless since you can't recover your Magicka by normal means and you have to save it so you can morph or disguise yourself every time you walk into a town. The only useful mage tree is perhaps, Enchanting, but only if you intend to follow Mara's path. From the warrior trees, your only obvious choice is One-handed, and even so, I doubt it's usefulness, since the claw's damage output is already insane right from start, and it scales as you collect more boons. Besides, the dual wielding perks are severely crippled since your left claw swings are like 1.5 times slower than the right ones (I think I saw somebody else reporting the same issue earlier in this thread). That said, Heavy Armor is a plausible choice as well, but then again, ONLY if you chose Mara's path, and even so, you will never get full benefits from it, as she's unable to equip any kind of headgear due to her horns. If you chose Molag Bal's, you won't need it, and you won't want it, since your Daedraflesh scales insanely already, and don't even hinder your movement speed and stealth attempts. Now let's take a look at the thief. You might think that those are the optimal choice for Tief to invest, right? Well... not really. Speech is somewhat useless since most of the tree focuses on banter and better pricing, and as we all know, Tiefling CAN'T sell anything to NPCs. It doesn't matter how much you invested in haggling, she's still unable to sell anything for more than 0 Septims, thanks to her "Tiefling Merchant Curse" permanent debuff (i think that's the name anyway...). Once again, Light Armor is a go only if you chose Mara. Perhaps Lockpicking is the second best choice after Sneak, because she will want to open every single chest on her way looking for Boons or Temptations. Ah yeah, let's talk about Sneak. Although it's the most appealing tree for her, and you WILL invest in it, I have my doubts if it really makes a solid difference at the end of the day. Tief's natural stealth bonus is so huge and her Dragon Claws are so strong that I realized soon that I could just sneak behind and kill everything with just one hit. I'm not kidding... it doesn't matter if it's a bandit, a Thalmor soldier, a troll or even a giant... all that Tiefling needs is one single hit to take them down and walk away unnoticed and unpunished. The slight modifications made to the tree make it even less worth investing too. I've tested her stealth capabilities with and without the perks (yes, I used a mod that adds a respec potion for that purpose.) I should probably talk about her spells too, but I don't want this post to be become any larger than it's already is. The above summarizes what I could observe about regarding combat and perk investment. I can't stress this enough: Tiefling is a great mod, with a beautiful concept behind it, but I believe it still needs a little working when it comes to gameplay. Perhaps a complete perk overhaul is in order, on the lines of Perkus Maximus, SkyRe and the likes. Yes, I know how tough coding could be and it takes a lot of effort and devotion. That's why I hope someone else who knows the stuff and are interested in the project shows up and lends a hand to dePog in that department. I hope you guys don't take this post too seriously, as it reflects only my personal experiences with Tiefling. Then again, thank you dePog, and keep up your awesome work. Have a nice holiday everyone.[EDIT]I play on Legendary difficult, and even so couldn't help but notice that the bonus damage the claws apply against dragons is just too overpowered. At lvl 36 and 10 boons collected, I can take an Elder Dragon down with just a few power attacks. This, coupled with the fact that the elemental resistance gained from the boons made me almost invulnerable to dragon breaths, turned the dragon fights into cakewalk...

This, coupled with the fact that the elemental resistance gained from the boons made me almost invulnerable to dragon breaths, turned the dragon fights into cakewalk... Thanks for the feedback I would be more than grateful if somebody wanted to help with the Tiefling mod. I find that I don't use the perk trees much any more so a revamp that made them relevant would be good. In vanilla Skyrim Tief is way overpowered, but I figured that most players are using some mods that spice up combat like Deadly Combat, Combat Evolved, Requiem, Sands of Time, or Genesis. Plus some of them make dragons a lot more challenging like Requiem, Ultimate Dragons, Elemental Dragons, or Deadly Dragons. I use Requiem v1.73 and Genesis, or Combat Evolved, Deadly Combat and Genesis together which makes Tief's life a lot tougher. I tried Sands of Time but found it to be too difficult, so if you want a real challenge give it a go, lol. The good thing about Requiem and Deadly Combat is they both give you an MCM menu that allows you to adjust the combat damage of your enemies independently from your own damage. This allows you to turn up the damage dealt by enemies to about 5x normal so that Tief has to be real careful who she takes on. I thought about adding this functionality to the Tiefling mod, but decided that it is handled well by mods like Deadly Combat so I left it alone. Thanks eleuzi for a geat post and let me reiterate that I would be really happy to have some other modders join in the development of Tief. Cheers, dePog
mau2132604 Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 can the developer make this mod, mod organizer ready please.
elphilou Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 ... It is. Edit: Well, since it's a bit short (and rude, sorry), i'll develop a little. I've been using this mod with MO since the beginning, and i had no issue with it. The only thing that might cause a problem is the load order, LOOT is integrated in MO and wants to put tiefeling.esp very high on the load order, you have to manually put it at the end of the order. Now, there are some incompatibilities, with Alternate Life for instance: if you want the default start, disable it. If you want to use it, you will need to disable Quickstart3_nohelmet.esp, and put ASLAL after tiefeling.esp. Other than that, no issue, just enable all the requirements, run LOOT, and put tiefeling.esp at the bottom of your load order. Hope this helps
evilbbq Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 Just wanted to say thank you for this, really love how Tiefling changes the game around and it actually made me play Skyrim again which I haven't really done in a long while beyond trying some mods here and there. I can't seem to find the tattoo's you show in the screenshots on Tief's back however, they're not in the tattoo pack you linked to.

Oh well, thanks for the quick response!

dePog Posted January 2, 2016 Author Posted January 2, 2016 Version 1.7.0- DO NOT USE ON EXISTING SAVEGAME. Only upgrade if you intend to start a new character. I had to make some major revisions to the scripting which would completely wreck a savegame if you try to upgrade an existing character. - FIXED: After finding 7 Mara Boons regeneration of health, magicka and stamina will now act as intended (they will not regen without Prayer). - FIXED: Mara's Prayer will now regenerate Tief's stats correctly. - NEW FEATURE: Invisibility now drains Tief's stamina. She will lose about one point of stamina every 10 seconds of invisibility. I felt that it was too easy for Tief to stay invisible, so now she will have to pay attention to her stamina supply and only use invisibility when she really has to. Invisibility requires stamina to be above 10. If Tief's stamina level drops below 10 then her spell will fail and she will become immediately visible. IMPORTANT: I want to make it completely clear, this version will kill an existing savegame. I had to rewrite Mara's scripts and create new Boons to fix the glitch that occurred when Tief was released from her chains. If you were to use this new version on an existing savegame then all the Boons you have collected would be useless, plus there would be new scripts fighting with old scripts for control of Tief's bonuses. Only use this version when you are starting a new character.

Aw, and i wanted to report i found something similar with Moley Turns out that when you go to Oblivion, after the 7th temptation, you have the same kind of regen when you "pray" at the altair. However, you have regeneration every time you use the altair, during the rumbling noise actually. Should have reported sooner, sorry. About the regenerations, i also noticed it was affected by benedictions and stones. their boost is faint, but you can "feel" it slightly. Of course if you use an overpowered benediction from a mod (in my case, i saw it with Molag Bal's altair in the mod "build your own house"), you can regenerate magicka almost instantly. Finally, from time to time when leveling up, you get your stats regenerated. Didn't manage to find what triggers it for now, so i'll say it's random (might not be true). Even more finally, the Dragon Blood Potion, from the dragon blood mod heals you completely, but then again, you need to kill a dragon to get it, and may not even have it in the end, so i'd say it's a well deserved bonus Happy new year ppl ^^

Not quite sure what you mean, Tief is supposed to get regen at the Altar of Molag Bal, even when the rumble noise is happening. Does the regen stop after she gets off the altar? There is nothing I can do to stop other mods from giving Tief regen. Any mod that uses the commands SetAV, ForceAV or ModAV can stimulate Tief's regeneration The scripting that tries to stop Tief getting her stats refilled at level up time is not 100% perfect so from time to time she will get them completely refilled. The refill is built into the Skyrim game and can't be turned off. The scripting tries to reverse the effect when it occurs, but doesn't always manage to catch the event. Best I can do, sorry. Tief has a potion similar to the Dragonblood mod you mention. Tief can use dragon bones and dragon scales at a cookpot and make a potion that completely heals her. I created that for the times that she gets into extreme situations where she can't cope with just a daily regen. But because it requires multiple bones and scales you won't be able to make much of it. Thanks for the feedback. Cheers dePog EDIT: I started a new character, went to the Shrine outside Morthal and chose Molag Bal, teleported to Oblivion and gave myself 7 Temptations. I tried the Altar and it regenerated Tief correctly. There was no regeneration after I left oblivion. Seems to be working fine. Note: The script that checks if Tief is on the Altar has about a 5 second lag time so she may regen for about 5 seconds after getting off the Altar.
gelgaroth Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 For some reason when I'm playing my tiefling and go to dragonsreach for the main quest nothing happens. Irilith doesn't come at me with her sword drawn or say anything, and Balgruuf only says "one moment" when I try to talk to him. Any fix for that?
