ive had this problem before and i have it at every load and reload but it fixes itself as the mods load in. but if it doesnt make sure you have XPMSE skeleton and fnis, make sure to generate it.

 

it could also be an issue with something overriding it, for me when some animation didnt work it was because a mod broke the animation or prevented it from happening,

 

Slaverun reloaded has huge issues with dd animations but there is a patch in its support thread, if you have it remove it or use the patch, also remove deviously enslaved if you have it because its kind of outdated and doesnt work with some mods, try removing DD equip too just to check, i doubt its that but for me i had issues with bound animations and DDe and enslaved NPCs, but post your load order so people way more knowledgable than me can help you as is i can only guess what the issue might be :)

No chance at all.

It's not that. I tried it over a dozen times. Waiting patiently. Rushing through. Choosing different options.

Tried resetting a bunch of stuff in DCL and repeating it, all kinds of way.

 

After Do It appears, the attacks begin again immediately. It's still on the screen.

 

Timing is not the issue. It simply can't start Dragonar. For ... reasons.

You served time in Dagonar in this playthrough, right? Can you try guard dialogue again with this patch:

Anyone have an issue with debug menu not opening? Every other MCM tab opens fine but it just freezes when I click debug... the game doesn't freeze or crash, I can exit MCM and then go right back in no problems, but the debug menu refuses to open...

Some install requirements may not be met or the save could be broken? If you want to look into why, enable logging and check papyrus.0.log (if i remember name right) it makes. I think it's likely that script errors are logged by Skyrim, it's not really fault of the script but something missing from your setup that it can't find or fail to use.

Well, theoretically, it should reset Dagonar quest before starting it on arrest. But as I did some tests on my game, it 1. may be redundant, 2. may not help in your case, as problem is in something else. Maybe there are some clues in log...

Anybody else had cursed loot events trigger from your own inventory? I went to the inventory screen to check what restraints I'd just got from another event, and it triggered a cursed loot event, complete with the stagger and feeling dizzy message, and the message coming up said I'd found some restraints "while searching the <my character's name>". I feel like this shouldn't work like that...

I have seen that a couple times, not sure if I opened my inventory each time or not, always after a certain dialogue event, though I don't remember what one, The "I have just what you need" gag dialogue maybe. something like that.

Like @Tenri said, there are some dialogue events that for some reason claim you searched yourself. I actually think it is the one "it is a lucky day when a bound and gagged girl walks up to me" which usually is supposed to result in rape. Most likely is you opened your inventory a little too early before the event could fire, as most dialogue triggered events are somewhat delayed.

Hmm, it's possible that there was a dialogue which was about to result in rape going on, although that just means that something else incorrectly triggers a cursed loot event I guess.

 

Also, is the clumsy fingers effect supposed to trigger on the Keyholder quest? Every so often I get the message saying that I fumbled it while "placing the key in the The Dollmaker"

Yes. I saw it added a (probably) missing Reset().

 

The outcome is that instead of re-aggro, the guards stay calm and just loop the prison dialog. Still don't go to Dragonar, and am stuck in a loop. If I back out of the dialog, then the guards will re-aggro. If I don't back out, the dialog loops forever. At Do It, nothing much happens, then the guard re-force-greets.

 

I guess the uninstall and clean approach is what's left. I'll probably do that, put in PoP, and wait for the next DCL release to reinstall it.

 

 

When this is looping, the only untoward log entry is this:

 

warning: Property pqs on script dcur_prison_arrest_goprison attached to topic info CD0FEA56 on quest dcur_prison_guardArrestDlg (CD0FE4E6) cannot be initialized because the script no longer contains that property

 

Everything else is just regular diagnostics, mainly from SLAX, which I need to shut up.

Well, in my tests in wasn't needed - so, I guess, it itsn't a cause for problem.

This is fine. Script doesn't use this property, it is probably a legacy from older versions of mod.

This... is interesting. Reading code, I can imagine only one situation that can cause it:

1. You are wearing DD quest item (also, Maiden's Belt), and/or have a DCL quest active, and/or wearing slave/slut collar, belt of shame, or Jack's belt, or Queen Sarah belt.  Or are SD enslaved.

2. You are hitting guard from faction that you don't have bounty with right now.

1 and 2 are both needed.

Did you set them to do so in the MCM? DCL is a large mod with many many options, and it is best to go over its entire MCM when you start using it, or start a new save. A lot of features need to be turned on manually or set to a higher probability if you want them to happen

I found that happened when I last did that quest. Target him with console coc to the mansion (don't remember the name offhand) then move him to you, and talk to him there, that let the mansion load without crashing for me and I could do the rest of the quest without issue.

I'm not wearing any DD items, and have no active DD quests (that show up). I'm not SD+ enslaved.

I have a Devious Follower, but am not DF enslaved.

I know from experience, that if you just walk up to a guard and hit them, you'll get enough bounty to go to Dragonar.

 

Again, if I repeat the exact same experiment with vanilla prisons enabled, then I go to the vanilla prison.

 

So, I would say the obvious explanation is that Dragonar does not start; it either hangs, or silently crashes on start - without so much as a single line in the log.

I don't have DCL debug spam turned on, so it's possible that if the failure case doesn't result in a Papyrus error (such as trying to index a None array, or call a method on a None property), then I wouldn't see anything - because the error might be silently swallowed by DCL. I should turn the DCL spam on and try again...

 

At first I just wanted to know if this was a common problem with a common fix. It seems there is a common problem (the missing Reset), but I have that, plus something else.

Of course, Kimy may have omitted the Reset because she wanted to handle repeat visits differently.

I might investigate this myself - though I don't have this profile set up so it can compile DCL.

I think it's reasonably likely that my Dragonar quest is silently failing during its Startup.

 

 

Handling repeat visits differently sure would be a nice feature (if I could get there at all).

Dragonar is fairly repetitive, so any little differences that occurred on repeat visits would go a long way to improving replayability.

 

It would be nice to have some extra mistreatments available for repeat offenders.

Or even better, severe ones for an escapee that is sent back.

 

I haven't played Dragonar yet myself so I can't speak to any issues with it, I do know that I was sent there once without issue, but I didn't continue that game long enough to play through the prison.

Well, yes, but it will explain dialogue loop - on first run, your bounty with guard faction is cleared, and on next runs your bounty is still not zero, but not with this guard faction. First condition was about Dagonar quest abort. But it seems it's not about quest abort, at least, not with normal way of it...

 

Okay. Next idea - go to some girl, ask her about restraints. After that, repeat guard hitting procedure... ?
