Yeah, it does that sometimes.

 

The standing watch thing is between Bjorlam and the spectators rather than addressed to you. Did you get spectators watching? If not that might explain what's causing the CTD.

maybe you should have made custom npc near the wagon so it doesnt screw up you know so it has watchers that wont cause ctd so itll run smoother

No spectators ever showed up, the length of it killed by buzz entirely where I was ready to kick my $2000 computer, if that was what you were going for, Mssion accomplished and bravo. But hey, if that's what you're going chalk this up as another "deviouos" mod not for me, no harm no foul. Wish you the best and good luck in all of your endeavours.

 

 

 

dude chill all good mods useally have a few bugs just be glad your getting mods at all doc and the other modders could have said fuck it i wont make mods due to people would complain at the slightest bug

Hi Doc,

 

Thank for the update, I like were it's going.

 

I just finish going thru the new quest (or a least as far as I can go) and I have encounter some "strange" bug:

- The panel gag is red on one side and black on the other

- I have an error message from Devious Device when I get the boot (in both case,  if I equip it my self or the carrier do it). I also cannot get further if i try to equip the boot myself (I got the bug dialogue)

- After the dialogue (when the other NPC try to get the carrier to get a drink) evry one left and nothing else happen (my PC stand up and I stil get the blur by nothing else)

 

I can't wait to see the next step !

If I can't get it working reliably, that might be one solution.

yes it happens repeatedly its a a big problem because of it i cant continue the story

Interesting. The most likely explanation was that one of the actors got caught on something and that was what was hanging the scene. But I'd expect that to be a one-off occurrence. If it happens every time then something else is going on. Any chance of a log file?

I'm getting the same CTD that others are getting after Bjoram has a solo conversation about going for a drink, despite three Khajit standing around watching/commenting, but really I just wanted to say that this next part is brilliant. Bjoram is really well written, I had a chuckle as the (not so) reluctant cart driver and my (extremely) reluctant character negotiated (or didn't as it turned out) the terms of her transport and the 'Well I've come this far' attitude you have to take as your situation becomes progressively more dubious is great.

 

Thanks for continuing your work on this DocClox, I really enjoyed the first 'race' but the inclusion of this bit of exhibitionism story has made the mod 10 times better imo. There aren't enough story mods in Skyrim that deal with that sort of stuff and it's nice to see my character's courage and determination tested in a completely different (and I would argue more interesting) way than her normal 60ft flying-lizard slaying day job.

Anywho, no spectators, the khajiit caravan people were there but a dragon showed up so eveyrone but the driver pretty much ran off.IS there a console command to advance the scene? as I said it is quite long and I would ike to go as quick as I like as it is a bit immersion breaking, perhaps add an intimidate option to speed it up a bit. Asides from that everything else worked fine, tattoos and all

That's an odd one. I've had the gag refusing to appear, I've had the plug refuse to render; the split colour effect is a new one though.

Yeah, that one's top of the "to-do" list :)

That's interesting. He should be talking to whoever is in alias slot one, and I'd expect the slots to fill in order.

That's what I was going for. I mean there's no way that anyone is going to force the Dragonborn to get on that cart, much less unarmed and restrained. But if you can persaude her to do it all herself... then you just have the problem of not standing on Ground Zero when she finally gets loose, I suppose. Still, one step at a time :)

Well, there is in that you can start the next quest directly. But really, you got the end of playable content at this time, and even if you hadn't the next scene is ... probably going to be equally frustrating if you didn't like this one.

 

Once I get as far as the races, I'll give some thought to a plot free option so you can get the running without the plot.

On the DD issues.... Check to see what slots the new dd gear use compared to old DD gear (as they have made changes in the DD settings for slots and what not since you did the alpha test stuff way back in like october). That would go for both gags as well as boots (oh and pony boots are now included in DDi, DDa, or DDx).

 

As one of the alpha testers for this mod I can not wait for you to get back into wanting to working on this :cool: .

 

Thoughts:

You may actually want to take a look at the framework http://www.loverslab.com/files/file/1540-sexlab-dialogues-2015-02-21/by SkyrimLL.

It may help out with setting up the situation with the handler (for the lack of a better term) and his trainers/guards.

With options for setting npcs as dom, sub, etc... You could set the other racers as sub (maybe one or two as dom's), the guards and handler as dom and adjust the way they work with the Player Character depending on the choices the PC makes (IE wanting to work with them or wanting to kill them).

 

Also let me know if anything needs to be tweaked (clothing wise) as I've gotten decent enough with Outfit Studio and Nifscope that I can do interesting things (combing meshes and setting them up in both cbbe and unp shapes)...

Note: I'm still learning Max so don't ask for new stuff... modified I can do, but new I can not..

 

Also Doc, you may want to take a look at the latest Zaz update to see if anything has changed (for the items you had planned on incorporating into the homestead/training area).

Ok gave it another go today, got a little further.

 

Visit Bjorlam during the day time, notice that NPCs are already filing up in the nearby area as soon as I approach him. The two stable workers and some guards.

Talk to him naked and have the option to skip through some of the previous dialog, but if re-equip anything, dialog does not revert, it still go straight to the search part.

Go through the search part, haven't tried all option, at the end opt to say show's over which seems to be a dead end? Also player control is not re-enable afterward so become sort of stuck. TC console command re-enable controls, but dialog boxes for "activate", "open", "talk" disappear, also can't fast travel, don't think i can open inventory also, so effectively glitch. Will play around with it more later.

 

I am suspecting the message chosen during the search affects the final available options?

 

It feels like the dialog structures are a little too cumbersome, also still don't know exactly the purpose of the locked chest and key! Some sort of technical limitation from the game itself?

 

Unless I am missing some caveat

I think the dialog could be simplify a little to Bjorlam ask PC to put gear in the chest, where the custom dialog for different weapons will be spoken if PC has weapon equip. If no weapon equip he will then play the dialog for putting armor/clothing in the chest as well. If no armor equip then he'll go into helping with DD items and then search search dialog, where PC inventory will be purge anyways. That way PC doesn't really need to deal with the locking chest and the key.

 

Technicalities aside I find the whole PC willing to just roll with this whole thing a little odd considering the amount of effort you put into the dialog and set up. All there is so far is a letter with the guy sort of apologizing and a vague hint of mutual benefit with no apparent incentive, and then it jumps straight into willingly strip herself naked and everything. Again maybe that will be more clear later on, I don't know what you have in mind :P

Good! Glad you enjoyed it. General plan is for some more in the same vein when you get to Aleator Estate, and then some racing.

Yeah, I have some catching up to do. This release was built around the latest versions of everything (at least I'm fairly sure it was) so there shouldn't be any major incompatibilities. But I still need to get up to speed on the changes. (There's at least one API change to DDi that caught me on the hop.

 

I think this version uses the DDx pony boots already. Which is odd, since I don't remember making that change. But I ran it without xinafay or dcpony and found my girl wearing boots. Something else I should take a look at.

 

As one of the alpha testers for this mod I can not wait for you to get back into wanting to working on this :cool: .

Yeah. Trying to write something that was robust in the face of players re-equipping or otherwise messing around was one of the challenges of the scene. I had it a little better than this and messed it up a little in one of may last edits. I was getting pretty worn-out by then and made a few mistakes.

 

That said, the strip search should pick up anything outstanding, so it doesn't need to be perfect. Ideally, I'd like him to take your word for the "no weapons" thing if you don't have anything equipped, and to take nudity to indicate that you'd stashed all your gear. Then pick up the rest later.

 

It's never going to be perfect, but we can get a bit closer than we are.

Yeah. I wasn't kidding when I said it would leave your PC in an unplayable state. You can probably re-enable controls from the console, but you're still going to have problems reclaiming your gear.

Yeah. The plan is that there will benefits and drawbacks to both approaches.

The key thing is mainly symbolic. Having put all your gear in there, locking it and handing over the key just underlines that you're not getting them back until someone decides. It's not so much needed with the chest eating stuff (that was to stop me having to worry about getting stuff back out) but ... you're right. Some parts of the scene are a bit of a mess, structurally. It'll probably have to stay that way for the most part though.

What I'm aiming for is the PC unwillingly stripping herself naked, really. It's not that anyone's forcing her, just that this is the only way she's going to find out more. That said, I've deliberately tried not to put any interpretation on that - the player should be able to RP the scene in a number of ways.

Now that most folks have had a chance to play though the new stuff, some questions:

 

If the spectators turned up for you, did they comment on the action?

 

If they did, did they comment on the specific tattoos the player wore.

 

If you got Kahjiiti turning up, they they comment in appropriate language? "This one wonders, will we see copulation in the streets?"

 

There were a couple of things I wanted to check, but now I come to write this, I can't remember them. Oh well, later.

The spectators did comment on my playthrough, and I believe they commented on the tattoos in general (but nothing specific; the belly tattoo had been removed already).  The Khajiit wandered through the scene in progress, but probably weren't there when the aliases were filled.  So no mod-specific comments from them.

Actually the player starts with Pony Boots, which is very nice, but i think, for this kind of task, a couple of shock boots (from the Cursed loot mod) would be more... Fun :D

 

Makes it more difficult to "run" the race.

This is kind of what I was getting at in regards to immersion breaking, the driver goes from dutiful and wanting to get the job done to just kind of saying "fuck it. I have nothing against plot, but the scene was wonky.

Yea I guess having it eat stuff is probably not necessary if all you want is prevent player to take stuff back out, since as you mentioned items in inventory get remove in the end anyways. Plus there are other ways to stash items nearby also, or simply leaving it on the ground which is unreasonable to have to account for. The key could be introduce near the end with Bjorlam handing it to PC in a dialog after naked then ask PC to lock it and give it back to him.

 

As for the PC willingness, well yes there are a lot of choices that show unwillingness along the way, but in the end the only choice is to comply. Such is the plight of choices in video games I guess :P , since it has to progress eventually. I almost feel like if you are up for it, maybe take some control over the PC's personality with all the dialog that you have written. If any mod can do that well it seems like it'll be yours.

I got to the cart and after several discussions I finally agreed to the terms.  I took off everything put it in the box and locked it.  He asked if I took anything out I tried all three answers with no being the first(truth I didn't take anything my inventory consisted of the invitation and the key) but I could never move on. He always sent me back to put stuff in the chest.  And there were no spectators.

It's the belly one that gets most of the commentary.

Hmmm... I was thinking along vaguely similar lines. Only I was going to start the first race without the boots, purely so I could introduce a "special" pair for the next one.

No problem at all. The tattoo specific stuff isn't guaranteed in any case. It just adds more options to a fairly large pool of possible comments.

Fair comment.

 

What happens is that when the brand activates, the resulting rush of hyper arousal makes it impossible to offer more than token resistance. So there is an abrupt change in attitude there. Perhaps I need to explain that a bit better in the dialogue. Something else to think about...

They're not guaranteed to appear in any case, there are a lot of options. Most of them are fairly specific though. For instance one of the Kahjiit says "What means this 'spunk bucket'? How might this one donate?"

some mods give you quest items that cant be removed like darkinvestigations mod if you dont go to the dark elf housecarl in whiterun your stuck with a note in your inventory that cant be removed during darkinvestigations you get a whiterun gaurds signet ring which is quest only cant be given to allie cant be put into a chest maybe thats why he cant progress the inventation is quest only which cant be removed it could be clashing with his script

 

it should be rigged so weapons and armour potions cant be in inventory

 

unless someone made a mod to allow shoes as a weapon like in benny hills clip of the handyman at the first 20 seconds of it

If you only got partial dialogue and what you got went by quickly, it might be a Fuz Do rah - silent voice issue. Do you have it installed?

FYI to all, I was going ahead with this whole process, and could not figure out how to get it to advance... only to realize I was armed with spells in my hands. That's apparently enough to identify as a weapon, so be sure you de-equip those in the process.
