gooser Posted March 28, 2014 Author Posted March 28, 2014 *That* image is still packaged in the new mod. My apologies. I've put on my list a task to update the image to eliminate confusion in the future.
gooser Posted March 28, 2014 Author Posted March 28, 2014 Hey folks, Sorry I'm back from a long-ish business trip and have been away from Apropos for too long. I hope to make some progress this weekend and hopefully submit an update.
nutluck Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 No worries RL always has to come first. You have made a lot of headway on the project already, so taking a little time off is to be expected. If nothing else it lets you come back with a fresh perspective as well.

I've put on my list a task to update the image to eliminate confusion in the future. Ok so at least I know the mod isn't conflicting with Describe. Still not sure why its just a blank screen. Will have to just play and see if it updates and eventually works. Had a mod that did that before, took a long time before it finally worked. Unless theres a console command to force reset or show options for Apropos? Edit: Yay, after the 3rd new character (and updating to SKSE 1.7) the menus finally updated and now appear. Odd tho, the 2nd new character also was started after updating to SKSE 1.7 and didn't show up after 10 minutes of playing. Last new character they showed up right away.
offnightmare Posted March 29, 2014 Posted March 29, 2014 Do I need to create a new game or can I use an old save?
Guest Posted March 29, 2014 Posted March 29, 2014 If you haven't had Describe or Apropos installed before, any old save is fine. Any save that had either of those on it before, use a clean save. Anyway, I've been having a look over some of the animation topics, and there's some non-penetration creature animations on the horizon (although I think one of the Chaurus animations is supposed to be like that? I've never been sure what's supposed to be happening in that one). Now, obviously we don't want descriptions about penetration going off while the PC goes down on the creature. Is Apropos dependant on the tags the animation is coded/implemented with? And if so, maybe we should make drop a post to let the modders know to add 'oral' or whatever tags? Unless there's an easy way for Apropos to distinguish for itself?
offnightmare Posted March 30, 2014 Posted March 30, 2014 When I go to the mcm menu the sub menu for this mod is blank why is this?
ipred Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Hey gooser what do you think about making the descriptions display as subtitles this way the text would not be too small to read when its too long, you could adjust the time that it stays on screen and always when i start sex with radiant prostitution mod the hud disappears at start of scenes and at the end so i cannot read the apropos messages. and probably you would not need to assign this messages to the player instead you could like spawn an commentator like npc or just a voice out of nowhere if its possible.
RDKateran Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 Couldn't get any options in the MCM menu to appear. I'd go in, find Apropos on the menu list, but when I go in nothing happens. Advice?
wwrsticuffelic Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 I am having the same problem. No menu, just an image.

The animation will start with one scene say but the bandit realizes "oh nothing's happening there and damn bandit chief's got my key" so it switches. All the while the messages continue like nothing's changed. Does Apropos base the first pick off the first animation key and use it to finish off the rest of a scene?

No, Apropos rechecks at the end of the scene (in case you switched) so it'll show the correct finishing text (as well as apply the relevant W&T values). As for the starting messages not being accurate, that's just Papyrus being Papyrus, I assume. If you check the console, I think you can see the starter text for every scene, even when Papyrus can't display them all or somehow screws it up.
RDKateran Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 Do you have SKSE 1.7.0? Not the latest release, 1.6.16, but the alpha version. That fixed it for me. I do, and it hasn't helped.

nutluck Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 To everyone who is seeing blank MCM menus, please forward me your papyrus logs. !noob alert! How do I do that? This is a copy and paste from a site with the info you need. First, Enable Papyrus Logging by opening your Skyrim.ini file located at [YourWindowsUsername]\Documents\My Games\Skyrim\Skyrim.ini Find the [Papyrus] heading (or if it doesn't exist, create it at the end of the file) and add the following: [Papyrus] bEnableLogging=1 bEnableTrace=1 bLoadDebugInformation = 1 Now, Papyrus is enabled! Now what? Enter your game. Play the game for a while. 5-10 mins should be plenty. Open up [YourWindowsUsername]\Documents\My Games\Skyrim\Logs\Script\Papyrus0.log Then zip the log and attach it as a file.
gooser Posted April 3, 2014 Author Posted April 3, 2014 To everyone who is seeing blank MCM menus, please forward me your papyrus logs. Here's mine. R.D.'s Papyrus Log.rar I don't see any errors specific to Apropos. From the looks of it you've uninstalled some major mods such as Falskaar and Wyrmstooth. Lots of script errors running amok. Also you are using Wet and Cold which I believe is script heavy. Do you have CleanInvalidRegistrations enabled in SKSE?
RDKateran Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 I don't mess with SKSE. I leave it at its default when it's installed. As for the save itself, it's one I got off the Nexus, a real-quick main quest run with reportedly no mods. While I do have Falskaar and Wyrmstooth downloaded, neither are currently installed--might be other mods checking for whether or not they're active or not, like Climates of Tamriel or Convenient Horses. Probably Convenient Horses. That said, I started a new attempt with the save and it seems to be working now. At the very least, I can access the menu; haven't tried any sex scenes yet. Earlier, when I couldn't access the menu, none of Apropos' functions seemed to be occurring.

It's not a case of certain mods being removed after they've been used in the save file.
