I'm busy discovering just how BORKED some of my saves are.

 

And not ONE of them is because of Apropos. My Papyrus logs are about 60k.

I don't have much time right now to make description file edits - I'm busy enough with the actually mod coding right now. But I will occasionally tinker and possibly use other peoples edits - like Decauk's.

 

 

What's mine is yours. I'm actually in the process of pruning my current db file; as many have said, some of the lines are too long. My current edits are trimming all lines so that no line is longer than the longest line in the stock db.

 

I have also realised that the synonym 'erection' is causing some problems, with phrases like 'full of erection' cropping up which just doesn't sound right. So I'm gonna go through and remove the {COCK} tags for these syntaxes so that this doesn't happen.

 

I also haven't had a chance to use SL1.5+ yet, as I can't be bothered working out which mods I have installed edit parts of it and need to also be installed over it again. I think I'm just gonna create my own Sound.7x to cut down on clutter in NMM. I've heard conflicting reports about whether Defeat works as well, which is another thing to test.

 

Lots to do, but writing smut just seems more fun.

I'm really heading towards a clean reinstall. I just think about all the armor I've redone and customizing the Ningheim race to use an HDT body while maintaining their original meshes and I made a custom Ningheim follower and...... I'm procrastinating

 

I have saves of all 4 of the characters I care about cleaned and working, but they still show a lot of errors in the Papyrus log (none from Apropos) even after running the savetool on them. Looks like a lot of "leftovers" from Radiant Prostitution.

That would be nearly impossible since you can't account for the length of a character's name. 

 

If {ACTIVE_NAME} is "Bill", the line will be a lot shorter than if {ACTIVE_NAME} is "Jarl Bolgruf the Greater"

I even started reading through some doujins for inspiration, but it's amazing how poor the dialogue in some of them are. Some have some unintentionally hilarious lines that part of me wants to include for kicks, but I think the immersion may be broken...

Hell, I thought some of the 'big bad wolf' lines were going a bit far, not sure if Little Red Riding Hood gets told to kids in Skyrim!

 

I actually have a big notepad file sitting on my PC filled with ideas I thought of on the train and lines I liked in other stuff, all waiting to be reworked into an Apropos line. I also end up editing a lot of the stuff I've already written... While pruning the existing lines, I think I've reworded and changed about a third of them.

Update 20140424:

 

Just updated the mod to include a fairly cool feature. The synonyms system now supports user-defined lookups. So if you are already into editing the description files, you can define your own tokens and also provide a lookup in the synonyms.txt file and they will get used in-game. Apropos will autodiscover these anytime you press the [REFRESH] button under Message Preferences in MCM. Check the Skyrim console, or Apropos0.log to check your success or failure.

 

I have renamed SexPart_Synonyms.txt to Synonyms.txt. I realize that you can put things in here that are technically not really synonyms per se. You can actually put any kind of textual lookup that you want to be randomly substituted into the token's location in-game.

 

EDIT:

 

Also, most of the Apropos-defined tokens are now supported more broadly. The exceptions are:

 

1. Wear/Tear adjectives are only supported in the appropriate message description files. Don't expect {WEARTEAR_ORAL} to be substituted during a vaginal sex act, etc. 

2. For Female Virginity lost messages, we only support {PRIMARY_NAME}, {CUM}, and the appropriate sex part based on what is losing its virginity. So {ANAL} for Anal virginity lost, etc. I didn't see the point of supporting a token lookup for {ORAL} in a vaginal virginity lost message.

 

Any unsupported tokens are stripped from the final message, with no substitutions.

 

Otherwise, all tokens are supported across all message types.

You need to have the token in the source description file obviously, but yes, its completely open-ended. I chose {SPEED} as an example, but I didn't actually add {SPEED} to any of the descriptions. Please note, that the tokens in Synonyms.txt has changed from:

etc. to

 

"{BOOBS}:

[

  bla,

  bla,

  bla

]

 

That is, the actual token seen in the description files is literally the key in the synonym lookup. This simplified my coding.

Well I was able to update in place, without clean/save, etc. Give it a try. You will know if it works by checking the Console (~ key) or Apropos0.log after clicking [REFRESH] under Message Preferences. You see something like:

Ha, I just noticed that Skyrim capitalized some of the lookups in Synonyms.txt. That's something I've been aware of for a while. Skyrim the game has actually internalized certain strings, and there is no way to show them in their non-capitalized forms. 

 

Apparently the strings "Backdoor" and "Member" are used internally in Skyrim. I saw this some time ago with "Load", and that is why that one from the "{CUM}" list. 

 

Oh well.

I'd been wondering about member, never noticed with backdoor. Shame, I like backdoor, but I just can't live with an inappropriate upper casing! I'll just slip some backdoor into the actual lines to compensate.

 

I'll need to look through my files and look for repeating description types that can be used as synonyms. I like the speed idea, but I'd probably separate slow and fast synonyms. It might be weird to end up with a 'comfortable, fast fuck' or a languid fuck making the PC 'buck wildly'.

 

Actually, that would be a good one. Buck/writhe/spasm/convulse/shake/quiver/tremble/etc.

General 'fuck/screw/bang' goes without saying. Cock adjectives as well, like huge/pulsing/throbbing/angry/stinking/etc.

And cums/ejaculates/squirts/explodes. Sweating/exhausted/trembling/fatigued.

 

Could even do race specific ones, like organ/proboscis/tube/appendage for the bugs, or decayed/decomposing/fetid/rotting for draugrs.

 

I should probably complete my current edit and fix the 'full of erection' issue first though, before I start playing with new toys!

A hyphen never even occurred to me... The shame!

 

The Arousal hook looks to be a good idea, but a possible issue will be part of arousal itself, and that's having it reset to zero after sex. So, a chick banging a bunch of guys sequentially will be referred to as technically getting dryer, rather than wetter and (presumably) sloppier? This is more an issue with Arousal, where women lose all arousal after climax in the same way men do, when each gender should have different rules. Low arousal could be written to convey this, but then wouldn't make sense if the PC hasn't just had sex.

 

I do really like the idea of the PC being referred to as aching/eager/gagging for it after abstaining for a while though.
