chajapa Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 RE: BOOBS I didn't add to anywhere. I edited the SexPart_Synonyms text file. I didn't change it to "boob". I was just asking about it telling me it loaded "boob synonyms" when I checked the console. As an example: if I have a line in the FemaleActor_Vaginal_Male text file that I have entered as: "Riding a {COCK} with my {BOOBS} bouncing wildly." It sometimes shows up on screen as: Riding a cock with my bouncing wildly. It leaves out an entire word. (the boobs synonym) It doesn't do it all the time. Just once in a while and I haven't noticed it with any other body part. SO I was just curious if you could see anything from your side.

gooser Posted April 23, 2014 Author Posted April 23, 2014 Note: just posted a minor update to Apropos: - Update to JContainers 0.65. - Apply Earendil's patch to AproposDescriptionDb.psc that fixes infinite loop when invalid tokens are supplied. - Run Skyindent. - Fix Male PC -> Female display of lost virginity messages for vaginal, oral and anal. - Update MCM image to reflect new mod. - Revise sexpart synonyms - remove "orgasm". - Add non-rape creature db files. - Adopt some of Decauk's synonym and W&T edits. - Using JContainers 'wrap' method to break up long messages. Apropos doesn't require JContainers 0.65, but 0.58. I just updated to latest to avoid intra-mod conflicts.
gooser Posted April 23, 2014 Author Posted April 23, 2014 I've also included a separate installer that doesn't include any descriptions, in case you have made your own edits and want to preserve your changes.

If you hit the refresh button in MCM after making your edits and loading a saved game, do you see a message in the console that should list all the synonyms for boobs. Never mind that it says "boob synonyms" and not "boobs synonyms".

Just once in a while and I haven't noticed it with any other body part. SO I was just curious if you could see anything from your side. Just realized your problem. People started editing their files without paying attention to what tokens were used in the originals. In the original Vaginal descriptions, {BOOBS} was never a valid token, meaning when I authored the originals, I never considered needing support for {BOOBS} in a description file for vaginal sex. I was wrong. People have been using all kinds of unsupported tags in their files and it has caused problems. I just released a version of Apropos today that fixes a bug for people who edit their files and use unsupported tokens/tags in descriptions. The problem is that if you edit a description file and use an unsupported tag (or invent your own like someone tried iirc), the mod will go into an infinite loop. You probably have just caused a problem with your game save. I would upgrade to the just released version of Apropos and load an earlier game before you saved with your edits in place.
gooser Posted April 24, 2014 Author Posted April 24, 2014 Just uploaded the mod installer again - I made an error and hadn't updated the MCM config version number in every place that needed it. Make sure the file you are installing is: Apropos_Beta_2014_04_23.2.7z or Apropos_Beta_2014_04_23.2-no-descriptions.7z (note the .2 in the version)
chajapa Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 AHHHHH..... so we can't use the {BOOBS} token in the FemaleActor_Male_Vaginal text file? OK... I can live with that. If I want boobs bouncing during a vaginal sex scene I'll just replace {BOOBS} with boobs. So, going forward, we should simply avoid trying to use the tokens for body parts that are not .... not sure how to relate this.... the INTENDED body parts. Like a BoobJob scene should not reference female body part token other than {BOOBS} (and I assume {COCK} is in just about everything..... it's a guy thing, right?) I didn't realize that only certain tokens were allowed in a specific scene. That's fine though. No argument there. I'm good with this explanation. It's very workable. And we'll try not to break stuff... heheheh. My save appears to be fine and any time I edit those files describing the act (the stuff that gets displayed) OR eith the weartear descriptions or body part synonyms, first thing I do is MCM and refresh those. I upgraded, pulled in a recent save, refreshed, and everything worked. I don't APPEAR to have any issues. But I'll fix those out-of-place tokens and hope for the best. And yes, when I refresh and go to console I see the message of the synonyms refreshing.
gooser Posted April 24, 2014 Author Posted April 24, 2014 Some rough install instructions for version 20140423: Make a clean save in Skyrim. Exit. Uninstall your current version of Apropos. Reload game save, dismiss warning about missing objects. Wait a few minutes, perform save again. Exit Reload game save, wait a few minutes, perform save again. Exit (optional) Use Save Game Cleaner: http://www.nexusmods...im/mods/52363/? Install new version of Apropos. Reload game save. You should see message about Apropos upgrading to version 20140423. View MCM panel for Apropos and exit immediately. Wait until you see a message about new MCM menu being registered. Go into Apropos MCM panel and click "REFRESH" under Message Preferences. Make a clean save.

In a soon upcoming release, all tokens will be supported across the board. In fact, you will be able to define your own synonym tokens.
Alan47 Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 The most common cause for an empty MCM menu is that SKSE is not the right version. You MUST have 1.7 (which is an alpha release). 90% of us are still on 1.6.x, which is still the main SKSE release. If your MCM is working and you still dont have messages, the most common cause is that your sex act is not supported. For example, M-M and F-F are not supported (which is ultimately why I deleted this mod on my set up). Oh, had no idea about the SKSE thing. Updated it right away. No F-F support is really killing it for me
chajapa Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 Gooser, Just a thought about the displayed text. Since you don't have control over the timing.... how long it gets displayed, font size, etc... I was wondering if you've thought about using the subtitle space. Like make it an unvoiced response and allow Fuz Ro D-OH to display it as unvoiced dialogue. There's more control over fade time if you need it in Fuz Ro D-OH's ini file, but it does a fair job of calculating the time to display based on the length of the response. The downside to using that space is its placement on the screen, I suppose, but I thought I'd toss the idea out there in case it's helpful.
chajapa Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 AND.... just because in some ways I'm still dumb, even though I'm old... If I just start a new game instead of trying to "clean" a previous save, should that just be fine? I mean, I've played through the game normally and now I'm just having fun sexing my way through Tamriel. The highest level character I have played in the last 3 months is level 7 (on purpose). So just starting anew game is no big deal to me. ALSO.... regarding SexLab 1.5x (I think it's at 1.52 now) .... Are we ok to update or should I hold off for a bit? Seems some other mods might need to catch up so I was sort of holding off. I'm still on 1.39b.
waree Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 @Gooser I have look inside the Apropos/db folder. You have much more Text inside, but it's only a copy. Consensual Sex is the same as Rape? Sorry, I don't understand this. e.g.

I have a question about download versions: What is the difference between this too? What does it mean no-description? Second thing; on your main page it is written where your mod should go on the order list: Load Order Requirements - After SexLab.esm and SexLabAroused.esm OK, BOSS always puts it at the end, NMM and Wrye doesn't let me move under the mods you named. Is that the reason why I can't have your mod in MCM menu? Here is the picture of the only place where I could only place your mod manually:

Here is the picture of the only place where I could only place your mod manually: ScreenShot005.jpg One file contains all the database .txt files, the other does not. I provided the one without txt files for those people who have already customized their text files and don't want to lose their edits. As far as load order goes, I have had success with Apropos being at the very end and its also worked for me in the middle somewhere. Logically, the .esms that I mentioned in the OP will come before Apropos, since it not a master file. I currently use 188 mods, and just finished playing a character at level 103! Some people have had MCM issues with Apropos being the very end, so they have moved it above other .esp's, perhaps other script .esp's - i don't know.

Sorry, I don't understand this. e.g. Well it goes back a few weeks - someone reported that creature sex wasn't producing any messages at all, and looking at the Apropos log files, it was shown that the mod was trying to open non-existent files under Apropos/db/... Turns out that I never thought of non-rape creature sex so never added the files. Simply copying the rape files and renaming them makes consensual creature sex work. I don't have much time right now to make description file edits - I'm busy enough with the actually mod coding right now. But I will occasionally tinker and possibly use other peoples edits - like Decauk's.

gooser Posted April 24, 2014 Author Posted April 24, 2014 Just found out why the MCM image that I included in the latest mod update hasn't showing. I'm using Paint.net and it supports .dds format. Unfortunately when I saved the image, it defaulted an internal format known as DXT1, but MCM requires R8G8B8. I've resaved the image, and its been commited to the Git repository. The next release you will see the revised image. Currently, it is blank.

(and the Translation go faster ) Here is the German translation from Apropos. german: Wie immer, es ist eine Beta. Nicht nur das Programm sondern auch meine Übersetzung. Zum Installieren einfach den db Ordner in Data/Apropos austauschen. Vor gebrauch im MCM Refresh drücken. Sorry, war das falsche db File. Dieses ist ok. db.7z

gooser Posted April 24, 2014 Author Posted April 24, 2014 I didn't check creature but I think it work. Probably. In reality, I'm not too surprised it works. I just can't explicitly endorse it on the OP - yet. Fundamentally, I'm just tapping into the various SL events, making inferences about what is happening in each scene, and just assembling text messages... Now, its possible that SL 1.5x might mess things up with some outstanding assumptions (that Ashal has confirmed) about the way actors are ordered in the API, how to detect a creature in an actor list, etc. etc. So probably if anything, Apropos might just possibly expose some bugs in SL 1.5x. But I doubt it since Ashal is such a kickass programmer...
