Thanks for the help from chaimhewast and sickboy. I think i got it down, and was able to add a second tattoo. Now the question is how I can use the UV optimizing tool on the main page to reduce the distortion. I downloaded Blender and the associated niftool package and installed it, but everytime i try to open female_1 body, hand, feet .nifs, i keep getting errors like the one posted. What could possibly be wrong now T_T. Man everything computer related is too damn hard lol. 

 

But it is exciting to get help and make some progress on this stuff. I feel like im learning something really cool, albeit very limited

It looks like the last line where BsTriShape is the biggest. could it be something with the body I use? I am using cbbe 3ba v2 by acro

Addendum, I had disabled the mod went into the game with it disabled, quick saved reenabled the mod and it works now. so for anyone having this problem.

Disable the mod, go in, save, log out, reenable the mod, go in, fixed. This may be different for other people but this is what worked for me.

I had the same issue, What ended up fixing it for me was clicking in the empty space of the MCM and waiting for a few seconds. I'm glad you were able to figure out another solution though.

NiTriShapes were used in LE, whereas BSTriShapes are used in SE. Your best bet is probably to make a copy of the meshes and run the copy through Cathedral Asset Optimizer to convert them into something the niftool package can read.

I still have to do that, I believe what was happening before is that the mod was initiating automatically by just clicking its page in the MCM. Just by clicking that alone did it try to work. Simple terms, the mod itself or MCM was forgetting that there are extra steps for it to work.

oh dang. I do know how to use cathedral. But that means there is no SE equivalent of using blender to smooth out the UV distortion on tattoos? does that mean all the tattoos on this page were likely made on LE and ported over to SE using Cathedral?

 

Turns out the latest version of blender (v2.9x) lacks support for importing the SE version of body.nifs according to a reddit post i stumbled across. Still, if anyone out there in the great beyond has knowledge on how to fix tattoo distortions, id love the help. 

Also with making tattoos that appear properly on the butt, if anyone knows how id like to learn how to do that

I've never used Blender or made my own overlays/tattoos, so I don't know. I was mostly just pointing out a way to get your body meshes as NiTriShapes so you can use that Blender package to make your textures. It's unfortunate if it doesn't allow you to export it to a lossless format or one that can be used for SE.

 

As far as the packs hosted on this page, I'm pretty sure most (if not all of them) were made before SE was even a thing. Not sure about how other packs were made, you'd have to ask the artists.

Update: Got the MCM menu to show up after disabling half of my mod list. Don't have the energy to test which ones cause the problem, but will test to see if we can get around the problem by enabling mods by batches upon starting a new playthrough.

Has anyone gotten v1.3.7 to work on LE? The MCM shows up and says I have tats but if I go to change them, the options are blank. I have tried using the "Add/Remove Tattoos" refresh toggle on the main screen but still nothing happens. Do I need to place my tattoo packs in a different folder?

As far as I know they are all compatible with SE. I've been using SE exclusively for years, and never noticed any problem.

I'm having the same problem, not sure when it started, just selecting the actor from Slavetats MCM recovers it, but it's a bit tedious to reapply it every time I load...

Hey guys, I know this has been asked before but I couldn't find anything that helped. The mod is not showing up at all in the mcm menu, I have all the AE version of decencies ( I am running AE) & they are up to date.

I install it using vortex, install some packs, it appears in mod organizer, but it says there's an error that reads "Warning: this version of Slavetats uses version 3 or greater of JContainers API. You do not have JContainers installed" but I have version 4.2.2 installed.

So i finally installed the Anniversary Edition and I stumbled on to a problem I didn't have in SE. The tats do apply but whenever I leave and then get back in the game the tattoos disappears. When I go in the mcm I see that they are all still applied. Was just wondering if theres a fix for this or what the exact problem could be. I was thinking it could be the skin texture I was using but I used it before. I also considered it might be the new jcontainers or skse

I just posted about this myself. Good to know its not just me. Hopefully the mod author or anyone else can answer some questions.

Yeah that leading me to believe that its not completely updated with the mods that have been updated for AE like SKSE and Jcontainers. At that point we have to hope the author might address this issue.

"The author" here. I have not been able to replicate the problem yet (I only recently switched to AE myself), but I'm keeping an eye out for clues.

Yeah I'm not sure what the problem could be. Its not like the mod isn't outright working. It works it's just that when you exit and reeneter the game the tats aren't visible. If u just change the tats color or choose another tattoo will load them all back in. I thought that maybe it could also be my textures which is "The Pure," or maybe it could've been wet function redux but those weren't an issue in SE

Edit: Something that I didn't really have a problem with that might also be a clue was that any modded character in the game that had tats would have them turn invisible when I added a new mod to Special Edition. Any npc that was from the base game or a replacer was unaffected by this "Bug". Don't know if its related though I didn't really have too much of a problem with it cause as long as didn't add a new mod it worked just fine.

I have JContainers version 4.1.13 installed and I'm getting this error when I open up the McM menu. Am I required to use the 4.2.2 version? I tried installing it, but my game would crash when I started a new game (I haven't upgraded to AE yet).

Edit: Alright I figured it out. I do need Jcontainers 4.2.2. The crash was being caused by sexlab inflation framework, which was causing some sort of conflict which would result in a CTD whenever I load or start a new game.

I seem to have an odd bug . Slave tats is working as in I can get tattoos to appear on the pc but only the default ones. No tattoo pack from this mods downloads or any from other mods seems to be working. I don't even get the respective tattoos showing up in the mcm menu to put them on the character . 

 

I am using SE
