Double check that the name in the config.xml file matches the one in your res folder EXACTLY (case sensitive)

Thanks, that fixed those errors.  Unfortunately, I have run into a new problem.  So after correcting the skeleton issue, I went back and re-edited the outfit from scratch via Guide 1.  When I create the outfit and equip it in game, now a gap appears between my character's neck and her body.  The gap is clear and you can see the background through it.

Looking at her from the front, from her upper body just above her breasts to her shoulders loses a bit of height, resulting in the gap between body and neck.   It's as if that portion of her body is being lowered down slightly creating the gap.  Also, looking at her from the side, the breast flattening issue is still prevalent as well.  The rest of her body remains unchanged. the change just appears in that upper portion of her body and her breasts.

Presumably, this new gap issue is being caused by the skeleton, as before, only the breast problem was present.

Sorry I keep pestering with new problems, it just seems like every step creates new problems.  I appreciate your help and patience.

I am assuming I am doing something really simple incorrectly here.

Goal: Convert UNP Armored Bikini to 7B and if possible, copy the weights from Blabba's 7B HDT v0.4 Beta

Step One: Install Stuffed Bunny's UNP conversion sets. I realize that I can convert UNP - > CBBE -> 7B. But when I do that, the base shape still has CBBE UVW Coordinates so the texturing is off. So I am hoping going UNP will preserve the mapping.

Step Two: Set Up Config.XML to list the Conversion Sets.

Step Three: Go to outfit studio, load reference shape... and this is where we run into problems. When I load the conversion set, the body does not display in the preview window. The slider sets are present, so the Config.xml file is linked correctly. I am assuming the problem is in the conversion XMLs. The shape data seems to be properly named and in the correct location, so i am at a lost. Any help will be appreciated.

Easy fix, Export the outfit as a nif, then re-import the outfit and an actual 7base body as a reference.

Copy over teh 7base reference body into the outfit and export it as a nif.

Hopefully that works out better for you.

As for your conversion references not showing it most likely means something messed up the xml's or the shapedata folders.

Your best bet is to re-install the OS or at least the conversionsets folder and shapedata folders.

It should work fine then.

After hours of trying to make things work yet again, I come for help here. I've been trying to change the predator mod's outfits to CBBE. I've got them all extracted, prepared them all in NIFscope, and somehow gotten a single one converted (I have no clue what I did to make this work). The problem I'm having is that every time I reach the end, have the body all cleaned with the brush tool and the outfit fitting nicely, the duplicate body command refuses to work right. Instead of duplicating the body as it currently is (with slider changes and brush alterations) it instead copies the normal reference body, before I did changes. Furthermore, it has no body textures, just stretched out clothing textures.

OK so I found an armor (BeanSidhe) that was converted to BodySlide by Skyrimfloo. He used the HDT body. I downloaded the original BeanSidhe, and downloaded SkyRimfloo's Bodyslide conversion for it.

NOW.... I'm not sure how to correctly proceed.

In SkyRimfloo's download there is a shapedata nif that appears to be the armor.

When I open a new project in Outfit Studio, I choose the HDT Body as my template, but then when I get to the part where I need to choose the outfit, do I go to the outfit in data/meshes or do I select the nif from SkyRimfloo's conversion?

Then when it comes time to export the nif I just overwrite the ones in the data/meshes for that armor?

Now, BECAUSE he used the HDT body for the conversion, do I still need to "copy selected weights"?

I still delete the reference body that is in the armor nif and then "Duplicate" my own into it?

Sorry for all the questions. I'm trying to get the hang of this.

Into what body are your trying to convert the armor?

Posted

I'm not really converting to a different body. I already use the HDT body for all my custom followers and the vanilla females.

I just want to give Eryniel the BeanSidhe armor (she's already using an HDT body)

The original BeanSidhe appears to have a Manga body in it as the reference body.

The shapedata nif in SkyRimfloo's conversion has an HDT body in it.

I think you're making it too complicated. If it's already converted, you don't need to do anything. Shapedata is just Bodyslide data, don't touch it. Just build the armor in Bodyslide using your preferred preset or make your own aesthetic tweaks, and click build. Outfit Studio is just necesary if the armor isn't already converted into bodyslide format.

DOH!

OK, well that makes sense. :)

So as long as it's bodyslide format, does that mean I can use my HDT body preset on ANY armor in BodySlide?

That sure would make things easier. :)

Pay attention to the details in the guide ;)

The reason why when you copy the customized reference body into the armour it reverts back is because you forget to click Slider -> Set Baseshape.

I have no idea why your manually doing it this way instead of just making them all Bodyslideable and then using bodyslide presets to build them, but I guess that's besides the point.

Also Duplicate Body is slightly bugged and the duplicated body will have weird textures on it in the OS preview, BUT  the actual nif and in-game will be correct, so don't worry about it too much (You can also try toggling 't' button to see if that resets the textures)

Yeap, if it's a bodyslide conversion that was made for HDT body, then you can use HDT body presets on the outfit.

While working on my conversion of the minidresses for dream girl, I went back to redo them, following the tutorial for preparing the nifs for OS and BS2. Now they show fine in nifscope with no errors, in OS the are fabulous also. I converted them exactly like I had done before and in OS they are perfect. In game though they are invisible, so NPC wearing them are naked. Any thoughts? I've attached the nifs for the blacksmith for example.

Chances are it's a texture issue, or it could be that OS somehow screwed up your normals ridiculously bad.

But it's more likely a texture issue really. Double check your BSLighntingShaderProperties, make sure the flags are set the same way as a working Outfit's nif files.

Ok , checked against original UNP version, all numbers the same. Textures set the same, same paths o.0 . The only actual thing I did differently than when I originally converted them, and that had issues but did work was this:

"

Step 5: Check to make sure their are NO NiSkinInstance Branches

             A. If their aren't any, skip and proceed to next step

             B. If there are, right click those branches and click convert to BSDismemberment

"

There was NiSkinInstances in all files, some had more than one.

Then I just converted them as before ugh ...

Make sure NiSkinInstances (All of them) get converted to BSdismemberment nodes :D

Otherwise Bodyslide screws 'em up

Sorry for being ignorant, but please help.

I tried following the guides 0 and 1   (thank you btw, this is incredibly well written).

However, after finishing it: Doing the last "Conform all" from step 14. And saving my project.

Upon restarting the bodyslide and selecting my new slider, I notice the armor is not following the body when I change the sliders... as if the software isn't saving the "conform all".

PS: Before saving the project I tested to see if the "conform all" worked, and it did.... I could move all the sliders just fine and the armor would change with the body....

But after saving the project and reopening it, it seems the conform all is forgotten.

What can I do? Thank you

I have never seen this problem crop up before

Umm maybe a picture/gif of what you mean would help a bit?

Is the outfit not conforming in Bodyslide (not OS)?

Are you running Bodyslide/Outfit Studio in administrator mode?

It's so odd...  I just tried the tutorial again with another armor and it worked just fine.   But the first armor still is bugging out.

This first armor is the "Corrupter" armor (from the Allan's Pack)... this is the one that isn't collaborating with me.

Since you use another Allan's pack armor, I assume you have the corrupter as well... correct?

It's located at:

...\meshes\armor\ageha\corrupter_1.nif

(May be relevant info:   Following Guide 0... I converted all NiSkinInstance  into BSDismemberSkinInstance)

I'm seriously confused now... what could be causing this?

Thank you so much for helping me

No probs, and actually yes I did all forms of the corrupter armour and they did work 100% fine for me.

It could be your just overlooking a tiny but important step.

(Actually My tutorial pics were going to be with the corrupter armour, but I decided against it becasuse I thought it was too 'adult' and might put off some people who want to learn this tool... Also because the hook strings are incredibly tricky to do right...)

Yes, that's what I did on the new conversion attempt and that's when they became invisible. My original conversions I did not do that, but those worked and while there was some slight wonkyness they were useable. Now I found your tut and thought I should go back and redo them properly and am having this problem.

Hmm, try posting your nifs in skyrim Tech Support.

Maybe a more advanced user that knows the mysterious ways of nifskope could double check it for you to make sure the texture flags are set correctly.

Because honestly that's the only time I get invisible stuff in skyrim....

I'm still stuck with this problem.

With other armors I'm doing just fine, the corrupter however is still not working.  I even tried redownloading the Outfit Studio.

All other outfits I tried that worked, however, didn't require me to do the conversion from NiSkinInstance to BSDismemberSkinInstance. Since there were no NiSkinInstances.

So I'm guessing my problem is somehow related to Guide 0... but I've tried again and again to no avail.

Whelp, I feel like a moron now. And I was doing it this way because it's far, far faster to just use the "vanilla to CBBE" slider, as opposed to having to do my best to match the HDT body to the vanilla shape each time, and me not being clever enough to find some way to save and load that specific shape despite your guide going over it. Once I get things to successfully work with CBBE bodies, I can go back and make them slider compatible.

Thank you for the aid!

Edit: Alright, tried that step, and it's still a no-go. Let me try and give a better example. The body, after I am done using the brush tool, fits the CBBE armor perfectly. When I use set base shape, nothing seems to happen. (which I assume is normal). However, on clicking "duplicate body" and naming it, suddenly the breasts are clipping through the chestplate again, and it's as if I had just reloaded the reference before the brush edits.

(In the reference pictures, note that in the second image, the nipple is protruding through the bra-piece again, and the side-strap is once more hidden under skin)

I do plan to share these conversions (with the mod-makers permission, of course). I just need to find a way to actually get started on the darned thing without repeated wasted hours.

Weird.

Usually before I write these guides down I make sure to do the process myself on a few different armours and try it out myself and make sure it all works out in game alright.

But having said that, I am far from infallible and you scroll back on these pages you'll notice helpful readers point out mistakes on my part :)

So I'll double check my Corrupter conversion, see if I can get it working and re-post the results here (I'll quote your post, so you can know :) )

It might take me awhile as I'm in the middle of my own project and RL work has picked up a tad bit. Hopefully sometime this weekend I'll solve this issue. If not by then please send me a pm as to remind me to try this, I forget things as I go along sometimes

Using brushes on a body is actually not recomended, Outfit Studio was not meant to be a 'sculpting' tool ;)

But here's what you want to do in your case:

1. Hit that pencil button on the slider to go into slider edit mode

2. Brush and fix the clipping issues on the body if you so desire

3. Now hit the pencil button to got OUT of slider edit mode

4. SLIDE the slider all the way over (not highlighted)

5. Slider -> Set BaseShape (You should see the body stay the same as your edited version, but the slider should jump back to 0%)

6. Copy body into outfit :)

Again I can't stress enough that editing the body is usually the less prefferred method for quality (if it's only minor clippings the nI guess it's okay) but you should always try editing the outfit first.

As for your dilemma over HDT body not having a 'To Vanilla' Conversion reference, Easy enough solution for that. (Actually you shouldn't need to do this as HDT body and CBBE are the same shape, but HDT body has different weights)

1. Load up CBBE to Vanilla

2. Hit the pencil button

3. Slider export slider, save it somewhere and name it appropriately

4. Load up HDT body (in a new OS window preferably)

5. Slider -> New Slider, Name it appropriately

6. Hit the pencil button on the new slider

7. Slider -> Import Slider -> Import BSD file, Select the BSD file you saved in step 3

8. Voila, instant new HDT body to vanilla conversion slider, Has fun! (This works for the other bodies as well)

And now for the hilarious question revealing just how bad at this I am. How do I save this in such a way that I can use it as a reference, like the other conversion sets?
