Not sure how a mod conflict would cause the menu to not enable though.

 

Same here. I have no mod-writng skills so I claim a fair level of ignorance on the topic. I just try to be thorough in my problem-solving. 

 

 

You are not the only one with the issue. There are a few people that are not able to use the mod for some reason. But if you figure it out we would love to know how you fixed it.

 

I've had no luck disabling almost every mod and activating them in a more intuitive order. The best I was able to accomplish was getting the mod to appear active in the 'General Settings' tab, yet still be listed as disabled in all the other tabs in the MCM menu. I'm stumped.

 

At any rate, my next step is to reinstall Skyrim while I'm at work. Maybe there is something somewhere in the convoluted mess of my skyrim directory that is causing the issue. While this may not help you, it could possibly help me. Time will tell.

 

No worries and it doesn't hurt to be thorough, better that than skip things only to find out later they was the cause. So i totally get it, would just be surprised if that turns out to be the problem is all. :)

 

When you push enable and close out all the menus and just wait in game for a couple of minutes. When you reopen the menus it never fills out the rest of the menu's?

 

I really don't understand why it would do that on a fresh install, especially if you started a new character. Have you tried the command console to reset the MCM menu list?

It wasn't truly a fresh install, initially. I got lazy and just deleted the data directory, thinking it would be 'just as good'. It was not. However, after the full reinstall of this morning, everything seems to be in working order. Defeat installed properly, as did my other mods. Hopefully, now that I've installed all my mods using a manager, my game will be more stable without loose crap floating around my Skyrim directories.

 

And, yes, I did try the MCM reset command. It didn't work.

is anyone using devious captures, with the latest version of Defeat?

Just wondering if it is compatible, and working.

 

Yes it does work. I have a problem with Robbery quest not happening as nothing is stolen, but as it's set at 100% Captures still picks up its happened and works in b2.

 

If you do get the Robbery quest then I can't see why it wont work either

 

For robbery it depends on what it is set for. For me the robbery is working, least for worn gear and gold. In my tests my character doesn't have anything else to steal.

 

None of the settings work for me in b2 but work fine in b1 when I rolled back.

 

I posted some papyrus logs a few pages back when I tested it

 

When you upgrade to b2 do you make sure to disable Defeat first before hand? I only ask cause if the scripts are left running in b1 it could cause issues when trying to update. I know the rob functions was changed in b2 so it would make sense if b2 was not working right if the scripts from b1 was still running when you tried to update it.

 

Could also try a new game with b2 to check as well, if it works on a new game then that is likely the problem. The scripts from b1 got stuck running.

Ah then it sounds like you have some lose scripts or something left, likely from a previous version of defeat in the data folder that was causing the issue. Updating any mod with scripts can be tricky at the best of times.

Okay. Same thing happens, have tried with loot sorting clean installs of all sexlab mods and a fresh game. Just not working. It might be alternative death.

I am using 1.5 not .151.

Yep I'm quite meticulous about that as I beta test some other mods. It was uninstalled according to the instructions, however I did notice some residue in the save from from the old scripts when I checked with the script cleaner which I then subsequently removed, prior to installing beta 2.

 

I'll try on a new game and see what happens

Just removed AD and now defeat doesn't work either. Clean installed.

Guys, something strange i got. I go to downed npc. Select "ckocked down", and if i dont got ctd in this moment (1/10 chance lol) i select "kill", and... i kill npc with my dagger, and also kill myself. Realy. We are dying together. Or just me only. Like harakiri. It's normal? It's only with me? :3

 

Thats.... weird... maybe you secretly love them and can't live with out them?

 

All joking aside I have no clue. I would suggest turning on papyrus logging and then see if you can get it to happen again. If you can exit the game, zip the log and post it up here for Goubo to take a look at.

that is almost the same problem i am having, even the weird glitch with killing yourself along with the npc. ill post my load order if i can figure out how easy enough so we can compare it is likely we both have something out of order or conflicting.

What happens if you make a new character and test it? Does is still not work on a new character?

Robbery also don't work for me too.

 

Load order is of little use to me, I let LOOT do mine. The only time I manually make changes is those rare times I know two mods change the same thing and I put the mod I want to take priority lower of the two.

 

As for the papyrus log I noticed a few things. I am still new at this so i don't know how much this matters but.

You have a bunch of RND errors in your log.

You also have errors for DE_Main_1_6 but I am not sure what that is.

You have several warnings about quests from mf_prostitution which I know is Radiant Prostitute Tweaked mod.

you have lots and lots of warnings for several mods about

cannot be initialized because the script no longer contains that property

you also have a number of errors for mods saying

cannot be initialized because the value is the incorrect type

 

I did a search and you have 78 errors and 32 warnings.

 

So there is something not right going on in that save. I am still learning papyrus myself so I can't really offer you suggestions on how to fix it other than to point out that in 13 pages you have a lot of errors and warnings.

I'm having the same issue as a few others here. When I use the 'kill' action it kills my character instead of the victim NPC. I didn't have this issue with 1.1, so out of curiosity I checked the defeatactionscr source script and found a difference in one of the lines below the one that initiates the kill move animation. In version 1.1 this line was : V.Kill (P) and now in version 2.1 the line is : P.Kill (V)

 

Now, I'm not very good with scripts, so I don't know if this has anything to do with the problem, but since it's reversed now I just thought it might be a possibility. Just figured to share in case this could help. :)

MCM menu is buggy as well (I'm using a german game). Please fix that shit, otherwise I'll have to delete the mod.

 

How exactly is it buggy? Also stop being a rude, there is no need to say something like that.

I fixed my creature problem with a Sexlab clean. Now, my only issue is that I have "Run away!" permanently appearing on the screen. Would that have anything to do with an NPC taking out one of the six wolves I ran away from?

Possibly but I thought it was based on a timer and not on range. If it is based on range i could totally see it since you never got far enough away to take that wolf off the run away script. Though clicking clean on defeat should fix that.

Could be alternative death is a new addon for the last Defeat update so wouldn't be surprised if there is a bug or two that needs to be worked out.

Just removed AD and now defeat doesn't work either. Clean installed.

 

 

What happens if you make a new character and test it? Does is still not work on a new character?

 

I just forgot to configure sexlab after upgrading. The problem appears to be AD. It doesn't work without defeat installed either.

Ok Goubo I did a bit more testing and I tried several more in the same area and keep getting the bug stuck down waiting for a turn and the other enemy would just go back to sandboxing cause they was apparently to far away but Defeat would wait for them anyways. So that seems to be a for sure bug as I can make it happen 100% of the time now.

 

Just posting this as a confirmation.

You just don't understand how to use a mod that allows translations because you didn't install the translation to German so you get the raw untranslated codes used to allow the translation feature to work.
