Good Question. I never bothered with the Main Quest enough to look for something to enhance it. Haven't finished it for probably 8 Years?  ?

And the real World Ballista should be a thing. If I am allowed to take ESO as example, we had Ballista for PVP ?

Seems legit

I am incidentally still bothered that (as far as I know) there is not erven a mod to let the player use their wealth and resources to play for winterhold to be restored to former glory or for like the Argonian dock workers in Windhelm to have better accommodation. There are overhaul mods sure but it's a built in vanilla mechanic that I can pay to upgrade a home why didn't bethesda let me pay to repair the damage and restore winterhold to glory.

Winterhold restored is a great mod but I want that to be the end point after paying for upgrades and investing resources. It makes sense narratively that you go to this town, notice it's hard done by, help out the Jarl, become Thane and then slowly restore the town in stages. There could then be an option to have said Jarl join the Empire because he's seen the good you have done for the place.

There's a rebuild version that lets you rebuild Winterhold in sections, IIRC.

My big gripe is that there are NO Winterhold expansion or rebuild mods which are compatible with JP Steel's Cities of the North version of Winterhold, which is BEAUTIFUL (I especially love the keep being used as the Jarl's residence as it totally fits the concept of old parts of a much larger city being reused), but remains stuck with NO amenities or new buildings. Which is absurd - Winterhold is just too small even by weird Vanilla standards.

So it seems the creator of that rebuild mod and their mods are no longer on the nexus though I see the translations of the mod remain

I have to say the Ragged Flagon is outright the most vile place in Skyrim, I mean, it's in a literal shit hole and people are eating there. (seriously, WTF was wrong with the Devs?)  Any time the game sends me to the Ragged Flagon I can think of Jean-Paul Marat from the French Revolution who was suffering from Dermatitis herpetiformis (a rash that covers the skin with little red blisters and messes up the digestive tract) because he tried hiding out from the police in the Paris Sewers.   Molog Bal has nothing on the Thieves Guild and their disgusting idea of Demimonde.

Someone should really do a mod were if the NPCs see someone in Thieves Guild armor they start complaining about the smell. That and you have a chance of catching The Rattles anytime you eat at the Ragged Flagon.

What pisses me off is magic.

For the first 10 levels its not too bad, then it falls off hard until you have OP gear to give you infinite casts, then it feels cheap and boring.

Most mods I've tried just make it worse by giving you spells which are just way too strong.

Plus it is weird that you just eat a book to learn spells.

Screw magic, magic sucks.

Also I want to hit Farengar with a blunt object every single time he asks me if I wish to dishcush the ongoing hoshtilities, like the rest of the great warriors.

Agree especially for illusion school which you have to mod to make work mid to late game on most characters because everyone's leveled too high. Can't remember how many times I got the message of "NPC too powerful" when casting illusion or a dead thrall spell. WarriorKeke's spells may be OP, but at least they are fun. Force grip to get pesky npcs out of doorways and send enemies flying. Also use an knock down enchantment while riding horses to send them flying as well. Fun.

My complaint about Skyrim right now are random dragon encounters. Yes I know I could probably disable this somewhere or with a mod, but I'm busy with other shit! But sitting relaxing next to a campfire in the evening after swimming with the pretty (modded) fishes and looking for loot- only to have the peace ruined by another annoying random dragon spawn attacking me and my carefully decorated campsite just sucks.

And speaking of the TG, I always look at Delvin and Vex and think "Why the fuck are you here loafing around if there's so much "work" to be done?". :classic_tongue:

Oh, and I did forget one glaring problem with Skyrim- the combat system. Boring and repetitive unless you mod the fuck out of it. I mean.... why couldn't they have included crippled limbs and stuff in Skyrim like they did in FO3?

I know you didn't ask for this, but since it is so simple, i hope nobody will mind me posting this here:
You can use console command to set "MQ106TurnOffRandomDragons" global variable to 1.

Beyond the Console Command, I find this mod a must https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/25464

Not just them, there is like five self proclaimed "bad ass" thieves in the next chamber that don't do shit and aren't even available as followers like the Companions are.

The TG is really a bit of contradiction; it's one of the better written base game quest lines with a lot of vivid character, yet is really doesn't fit into the setting of a Skyrim. (I mean look at Mercer Frey's big power play, steal the jewel from a long dead race, because even the 1% in Skyrim don't really have jack to steal,...?)  If feels like the TG is a left over idea from Oblivion.

This is why I downloaded Chewing Sounds for spell tomes to make it feel like I'm actually consuming knowledge?

Joking aside if Skyrim is so poor why are the mages wasting paper? Speaking of wasted paper why do the people of Skyrim have so many journals yet only write 3 pages?

Indeed and speaking of books

Why does a country full of farmers, fishermen and hunters, no formal schooling of any kind and an outright hatred of magic have wide spread literacy?

Good question. We have Children in the Game but the only mention of teaching a Child is about Magic..  There is not a single Schoolingsystem mentioned outside Winterholds magical waste of time ?

Would make so much sense if they would at least ad a few Lines of "I wanna learn how to read." -"Why would you need to read? We're farmers. We farm"

Or "Reading is essential. Parents teach their Children early on" in there useless loading screen texts. Would be cheap but at least it would be something

The other thing if the Devs just had limited books to the rich, wizards, Collage of Winterhold and the Bards Collage. That would make the last two places mean something to the game since that's were the player would go to find out about things and not just get herded into the next quest.  Instead of finding out about the Legend of the Three Brothers or Arthum Wars from some book some bandit was reading while taking a crap in cave (will not rant about the horrors of trying to read by candle light).  I mean come on, Betheseda., were is romance of fantasy with that?

But then actually reading a book in the Bards Collage would mean the player would have missed out on that dozen of versions of Rangnock the Red. I mean seriously, they fucking wasted limited disk space on that god damn stupid assed, sour dick of a song?

Limiting book drops in loot but having them more available in certain locations (the College, Solitude in general, etc.) would actually make for an interesting mod, hm.
