Guest Posted June 18, 2022 Posted June 18, 2022 There are some things about the Dawnguard questline that I question. For one, why is that when you're playing a vampire hunter you aren't allowed to kill Serana? I understand the whole elder scroll prophecy but I think it's a missed opportunity to create at least an alternative path to completing the quest if Serana dies. The only example I can think of for a quest with a branching path is the Dark Brotherhood where you can choose to destroy it by killing Astrid in the shack. It's not even that great of a quest but at least it's there as a choice. Speaking of missed opportunities how come there wasn't one to join Harkon? Another is how once you're at the chantry to get Auriel's bow, Gelebor will just hand you it even if you're a vampire. You think after finding out that the whole reason the chantry was ransacked was because his brother was a vampire he would be...hesitant or something? I don't know, it was a little weird to me. Also, this is more of a pet peeve than anything but one thing that bothers me is when I'm looking at the screenshots for a modded armor, clothing, weapon, texture, etc and all of the screenshots are taken with the enb on. I get it, enbs make the game look a whole lot better but is it too much to ask for a picture of your item in a vanilla or close to vanilla setting? An enb can make things look a lot better than without and it's a bit jarring to download something that looks good in the screenshots only for it to look different in game because you don't have the same enb settings or even use an enb at all.

Like The Thieves Guild The Dark Brotherhood and the Vampires have you go in with your eyes open to how dark things are about to get. Markath is like "Oh there are zombies in a crypt I'll just go clear them out - and now I'm part of a cannibal cult." "Vigilant of Stendar wants me to investigate a creepy house, sure - Now I'm beating a priest to death over and over" Oh and then there's the whole horrific conspiracy and how the first time I was so confused I ended up siding with the Maddenach thinking it was the only way out. The kicker is that there's a nice comedy drinking quest that will teleport you straight to Markath and until you finish that quest you cannot drop alto wine as it is considered a quest item. The creepy house one i thought kinda makes sense (although is a bit dark) considering the actions of the viligant once its revealed The one that most annoys me is the dog one from falkreth tbh as hey lets journey from one end of skyrim to another to save a weird talking dog

I understand what you mean about Balbus the dog but just like dogmeat in Fallout 4 once you know where to go you can just fast travel to the final destination and fight your way through and the reward is fantastic. (if you save the dog)

The Stones of Baranziah should be a god tier item for all the effort you put in.

(if you save the dog) I usually get that one quite early so don't have many locations at the time and its the distance that bugs me tbh as first you've got to follow him to a cave half way between the village leading to the roof of the world and helgen (which is prolly now covered in bandits) and from there go right up to the top left of the map Most of the other quests keep you within the same region 2
SmedleyDButler Posted June 18, 2022 Posted June 18, 2022 Speaking of the Stones of Barenziah, it's damned stupid that they're all in SKYRIM, but I get that fanboys always want Barenziah content in their ES games.

I'm just a sucker for collectables Inicidentally I just did the Thieves guild quest to test out a mod and Gulum-Ei is so fucking thick I started to rage, I ended up disabling a rock then waiting when his ai got stuck. Then after all that I made it to the twilight sepulcher, listen through all the dialogue and then Karliah turns around and walks right out of the building saying "We'll talk after the Oath is complete." I had to download a mod to patch her AI. It was like she was trolling me. So I take it back if you want to enslave the thieves guild I'm on your side. I still love their questlines and characters but damn those are annoying

Guest Posted June 20, 2022 Posted June 20, 2022 Vigilant of Stendar. I will worship daedra if I so wish. And if they have a problem with that, I'll gladly stuff their head with arrows.

I Ran like an Idiot to their Hall when i installed Pahe and enslaved everyone in there. Got me Immersive Daedric Worship for only that one Thing.. Molag Bal got many Souls that Day ? That and i may or may not have raided Falkrieth on my Way to the Temple.. 1

Dude all of skyrim is a pointless fetch quest. I like collecting things. The fact you're collecting a daedric buttplug hidden in a chest at the bottom of dungeon filled a gahgillion zombies and I'm fetching a stone in a house does not make you superior. Also forgive me but on bloody loverslab of all places I will not be shamed for liking collecting as a past time. 1

I am in the middle of doing some Screenshots at some Water place, everything is setup. Many shots already made but just as i wanted to make some expressions and poses BAM. Slaughterfish, nowhere to be found but still near enough to fuck up every expression. I fucking HATE this Pissheads, they are almost at every place with Water, NEVER attack you more then Once until they swim away, too fast to catch up and of Course since we are in the Water, you CAN'T target the motherfuckers with the console, at least not the first 10 Times! I Freaking hate them, WHY are they even a Thing. They could be docile, only attack if you do or just not exist. Skyrim doesn't even have Watercombat, that's the stupidest thing about them! (I know i can toggle of all AI but just let me rant ?) While we are at it, what are your most hated things that just don't need to be in the Game but are for some unholy reason? Or.. Just rant about something that pisses you off for some reason ? BTW there's another mod called One with Nature that allows you to set Slaughterfish and most other "animals" to friendly, allied, or aggressive in-game through an MCM. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/54090
Guest Posted June 25, 2022 Posted June 25, 2022 What is the difference between a Breton and a child born from a Dark Elf and Nord? Would that child not be a Breton as well?

Elder Scroll lore is weird

I mean i get it from a Game Developer standpoint. "We can't do so many Races." and they skip quite a Number of possible Races too. Adding Half Breeds would be overkill for them. But on a different note, looking at it as a Player or just Reader in this Case, you can't stop but feeling it not only weird but a pretty lame Excuse ? More so since they break their own lore pretty often.. Gray Prince anyone? Halfbreed between a human Vampire and an Orc who pretty much looks more like a vampire then actual vampires and don't get me started on Demi Princes and Demigods.. Morihaus fathered an entire Race with a Human Women. Lorewise that shouldn't be possible and his children should've been Whatever Race Alessia was ?
