I either can't get on top of the basket, maybe make it up there one time out of twenty, and on those rare occasions when I do get on the basket, I slide off in seconds, too quickly for me to actually look up and activate the lamp.   I think I saw the activation prompt flash once, too briefly to actually activate, in another twenty minutes of trying after reading your response.   I finally threw up my arms in disgust and TCLed my way through it... and glad I did rather than spend countless attempts trying this over and over again, only to discover the timing need for the moon light as well which would have made even succeeding to fail anyway.  Even if I managed to get this one in five times, I'd still fail all the time because of the short timeout for the moon light effect.   I'm honestly not sure how anyone is managing to do this at all given how horribly inaccurate and unpredictable Skyrim jumping is, but I found this puzzle utterly impossible to accomplish without the TCL cheat.   Are people using gameplay mods which change jumping or something like that? 


Anyway, as noted, I cheated my way through this part, then managed to finish the mod... except for the very end:

I couldn't find the key that would let me use the exit to Solitude.   Is that another overly well hidden key?  Or is it simply that the mod isn't finished past this part?

This might just be the best DD/SL quest mod. Like seriously great work. The writing is a fantastic and I haven't seen this amount of sheer interactibility in just about any other mod.

 

Though I will admit I did struggle a little bit. The in game item interaction was amazing but so unlike skyrim that it legitimately took me over ten minutes to figure out each of the doors. (I suck at escape rooms irl as well though so there is that :p). Having to think outside the 'Skyrim' shaped box was still fun!

 

I am eagerly waiting to see the continuation of this and whatever else you get to on LL!

That's not intended, no. The dremora should appear, walk towards you with some dialogue, and start a sex scene. What versions of Skyrim, Sexlab and Devious Devices are you running? If you still have it or can reproduce the issue, send me the Papyrus log from the play session where you had the issue, it may have some more info on what went wrong.

you don't need to jump all the way up to get in range of the lamp's hitbox. Reaching that is not intended to be hard or frustrating after you put the cart in place. Is your character by chance really tall? I had some trouble with taller characters jumping on the cart in my testing since the ceiling was too low. I'll move some rocks to make more room there, maybe that'll help.

 

And about the final key: it should be on Irkalla('s corpse).

 

 

New version including an in-game hint system and some more fixes is almost done, just need to test it a bit. Soon!

Actually, my character's height is exactly average (1.0).    Definitely shouldn't be a tallness issue.   It's definitely not possible to reach the hitbox when on the cart but not on the basket, so maybe the character actually needs to be taller or something like that?   And I find it pretty much impossible to make the second jump from being on the cart to on the basket.  Again, I have to wonder if people are using something which makes jumping easier than the Skyrim normal (which is pretty much the worst jumping mechanic I've ever found in a game...)   But I'll give the whole thing another run with the new version to see if the "tallness" fix makes any difference.

As for the final key - there *was* no corpse when I tried this the time mentioned.    As I delivered the deathblow, there was a spell flash and she disappeared, which I thought was deliberate, because the screen said "Well done... flee now...".   I thought perhaps that was slightly bugged because that speech line never disappeared from the screen until a save and restore, but I also never saw a corpse or ghostly remains (and I searched *everywhere* looking for that key - both before and after the save/restore).   After seeing your note, I restored to an earlier save just before the fight and this time the speech line disappeared after a few seconds, and there was indeed ghostly remains to be found with the necessary key.

The update to use a location change to trigger the quest seems to have worked! Yay!

 

I got through everything until the end, at which point my character got stuck in stocks that she could not escape from. Is this intentional? I assume not, since it appears that she is meant to be able to leave the cell after defeating the elf.

 

EDIT: I finally managed to leave the dungeon, but I have some sort of active effect left on me that occasionally puts my character in stocks (such as when activating a shrine), and doesn't let me fast travel/wait/sleep. In my active effects screen it shows up as two different effects: "No Wait Damage" and "No Wait Heal", and both have <missing name> on the other side. When I try to do any of the above three activities, Skyrim gives me an error message saying "You cannot fast travel/wait/sleep when you are taking health damage". Help?

I don't believe I've got anything that changes jumping, nor do I find it particularly clunky outside of Bethesda "Sliding on Objects" issues. If you still have issues, would you mind posting your modlist? I'd prefer to have these kind of frustrating bits fixed, but I'm not entirely sure how to do so at the moment since I don't entirely understand where it goes wrong.

 

I've seen the voiceline linger in my own testing too and I'm not sure what causes it, but I never noticed the remains not appearing. My only guess for how the latter can happen is that I think for ghosts the remains get spawned by a script, and if you have serious script lag issues there might be room for things going wrong there. That's a bit of a long shot, though.

Not intentional, no. Can you be a bit more specific at what point you got stuck? Do you mean stuck as in "I can't get to the device menu" or stuck as in "trying to escape doesn't work"? Did the dremora sex scene fire, and when it finished, did it walk away and then stand there? Did you talk to the dremora at that point?

Played the 0.3.0 on LE, so all reports should be taken with grain of salt.

1. Looks like dhlp_suspend event is not working, as in DCL Debug menu "Active quest running : False" during the whole quest run.

 

2. Hint orb doesn't detects blindfold being worn and asks it to be worn even while it is worn.

Only way to fix it - remove blindfold and wear it again.

It's the last punishment for hints?

I expected some comments/additional hints when orb sees you still obediently wearing the blindfold...

The dremora sex scene played, yes, and then the stocks disappeared and the dremora just stood there. I could not interact with him after the scene played.

 

What I'm referring to is when I open the final door to reveal the elf and she starts talking to me. As soon as I go through the doorway, my character is put into stocks and the elf begins the dialogue. I am then unable to finish the fight or leave the location, as I am locked in stocks and cannot escape. I did manage one time to avoid getting put in stocks right away by initiating the dialogue with the elf myself. However, now my character has the aforementioned active effects that seem to have no expiration and are preventing me from fast traveling. Carriages still work.

 

Oh right, I did have to manually advance the stage to 63 to get the barrier removed from the lock, as the dremora did not do it automatically and I couldn't interact with him. Almost forgot that.

This happened to me too, but he stood close enough for me to interact with, so I just spoke with him and that prompted the next scene. I'm on LE not SE so that might have something to do with it?

Also, as I was trying to play through the whole thing again from the start with 0.3.0, I attempted to use the Hint orb at every stage from the very start to see what it did, but in every single case, it eventually prompted me to masturbate (and fail), then did nothing after that - I ended up with zero hints at all.    I attempted a number of methods of masturbating (SLEN Masturbate spell, Sexlab Debug spell), but nothing seemed to have an effect -- never thought I'd need a hint on how to use the Hint orb. :P   Not sure if the Orb was supposed to trigger a masturbation animation automatically, or if you're expecting the player to have (and know) a different mechanism for triggering it.  I know from other comments here that there are other things it does at different stages, but I never saw anything but the prompt to masturbate and fail, even after removing the belt and harness.

Also, a suggestion - after the first time through the dialog with the Hint Orb, since the lines can't be skipped, use a shorter dialog which gets right to the point much quicker.

Finally, another issue I ran into this time around since I was experimenting with the ending:

After talking with the mask the first time, and saying I didn't want to make a deal, I went back later to make the deal, and drowned, because it didn't take care of the air situation the second time,,, and you can't skip the dialogue to make it go any faster.

Addendum, potential incompatibility:

Again, I remind you, I use LE, so it should be rechecked in SE/AE.

Looks like this mod breaks DCL's events - device comments and rape.

It stops working, no comments, no rape happens. After disabling plugin for this mod and loading the game it works again just fine.

How do you get rid of the mittens? I tried making use of the rug but it doesn't seem to work. For the record, the rug is still marked as 'Something soft and rough'; the armbinder, blindfold and hood are already off.

Managed to figure  out my last issue, but now I'm wondering if the ending

is incomplete or if I'm encountering a bug? I approach the elf without having dispelled the nipple piercings and she paralyzes me. I get the dialogue box about her slipping me a potion, but after that I just stand back up and can't trigger the scene with the elf again.

Oh, I know there's a mask to remove the enchantments on them, I was just wondering if the 'bad' end is actually implemented and I'm just running into an issue, or if I have to get them disenchanted in order to actually complete the mod.

Not that Im aware of. Probably in the future(tm)? 

Frayed could clarify, it does sound like a good concept.

Wondering if anyone else has same issue, I drink the wine and hit the bed to sleep then fall over paralysed, the breton lady appears but then I get up and can't move or do anything and she doesn't say anything to me ?

 

 Edit: Reloaded the save after sleeping and it took me to the room and seems to be working fine ?‍♀️

Just finished the mod; absolutely fantastic experience in all regards, especially due to the fact that many of the restraints could be removed in more than one way. 

 

Is there any chance you could add a waypoint to the lair entrance? It's a delightful little area and could well suffice as a small player base of sorts in the early game.

@notwavman I'll have a look to see whether the DCL stuff is working correctly. I haven't tested that very thoroughly, so it's possible I'm messing it up.

 

Regarding your other points:

Yes, there are no further hint interactions, it just loops the blindfold request. Technically the trigger for the hint to be given is when the blindfold is equipped. But I suppose that is a bit unintuitive, so I might tweak it a bit.

 

@knots1353 I find it rather hard to understand what issues people are having with the jumping. Maybe I've just built up muscle memory from testing it a billion times, but it never gives me trouble so I don't really know what I need to change in order to improve it. :/ Perhaps you could give me a suggestion?

For the hint orb: yes, that's supposed to trigger automatically, specifically when a Sexlab scene ends. In my testing this works every time, also when I just abort the animation with the End key. For starting it I tend to use SL Aroused's hotkey (long press "N" by default, I think). But ultimately I think nearly all mods run through Sexlab, so the event should get caught.

The dialogue length shouldn't be an issue if you use the hint orb as intended and the trigger works, because there's no point to spamming the dialogue. Still, I'll probably take your suggestion for the shorter dialogue. As for that last issue: Whoops. Good catch, I'll fix that.

 

@MysticDaedra That does clear up some confusion:

it sounds like something prevented the pillory scene from ending properly, at least until you talked to the elf, at which point it ended and put you back in the contraption. Normally, the scene ending places you back in the pillory where you started it, which is in range of the dremora and talking to him removes the barrier and restores your controls so that you can escape. But for some bizarre reason this got massively delayed for you, causing your issue. Some more questions if you want to help me narrow down the cause:

  • Did the dremora say anything ("Ah, that was fun. Time for a nap"?) after the scene ended or not?
  • Were you wearing any devices (belt, harness, or plug) when the scene started, and if so, did they get re-equipped (as they then should)?
  • Was there anything blocking the dremora between him and the altar that could cause his pathfinding to fail?
  • Can you reproduce the issue?

 

@Laurawrn Glad to see you solved the first issue. As for the ending:

There are two endings for the quest: make a deal with the mask and escape succesfully, or don't make a deal and get captured again. Both are valid endings, but since the quest goal is to escape, getting captured is marked as a "quest failure". In the future, getting recaptured will lead directly to the start of the second quest, but that quest doesn't exist yet :) so there's just a placeholder message for now.

Great mod, worked like a charm on LE. Only thing I noticed that seemed off was the rug and a few other interactive objects still listed the mittens even though they were gone. 

Brought back memories of the Aelie games from way back when. Took me forever to figure out the rug just like before too lol.
