I reckon when the shite really hit the fan, getting to the mod page is an astonishing feat let alone acquiring the mirror link. I'm curious as the download counts include an unfinished downloads as well or only the one that'd completed? Curiouser and curiouser...

What a weekend. Downloading a 12mb file was now like back in the dial-up days, unless yet there's another Steam sale.

Hey, speaking of dial-up i still have an old AOL CD if anyone still wants it, it's a 90day free trial from back in 2006. I haven't used it so i bet it's still good  ;)

We have a bunch of those in our computer lab.

When we're bored we take them out and play frisbee baseball.

Oh my fucking god does CDN suck goat balls. Anything that approaches 100 mb or so takes days to download because it just times out the connection or something. Speed is fine - for Nexus, but it's the disconnects. It took me 4 days to get the complete ETaC, because I had to keep retrying the download every 5 minutes - not that I bothered doing it that often. If it even connected in the first place.

Why can't they use the torrent protocol, or would that just kill any reason to have premium subs.

idk if anyone here has said it yet, but have you tried port forwarding with a static IP, that is the real way to get fast download speeds from anywhere even if they have a limit?

Id rather not talk about nexus, thats why im here.

admins are probably the biggest bunch of cave dwellers ive ever met.

Figured out a way...

  1. Download the mod manually, and then cancel.
  2. Copy the link of the aborted download (in Chrome) to any download manager such as FDM.
  3. Download again with the manager and it should grab the file without interruption.

This is why they are slow, Unless you are premium you are stuck on a maximum of 12mbps, or so the admins say. I have 22mbps Download and 12mbps upload speed, since ive configured port fowarding and setup static IP, download speed increases, no matter what the morons in nexus chat say. Half of them cant function because they live with their mother. Dont believe everything they say there. abotu 1% of it is true.

I was looking through Nexus when my browser suddenly crashed. Restarted, and not a single link on Nexus works anymore. I can open mod pages, but can't click the various tabs or download and clicking on screens opens them in the same tab, not a pop-up as if scripts weren't working anymore. Work fine on other sites. Anyone else?

No problem here. Clear out your cookies cache and try again.

Funny, I stumbled across a numbers of mods that were less than 10MB, have a mirror links for it but not with the bigger files sized more than 500MB or more. I sure hope them authors can provide us some alternative links that would spare us the instability that Nexus server have, and if that is not feasible, they can break the large file into several smaller parts. And If they really into racking for download counts and endorsements, they can always not put al the files in the alternate links and make sure people to grab the 1st/important/several-but-not-all part/s from the Nexus. Peace out.

So, about 5 minutes ago I tried heading over to the nexus to check a couple of mods I've been watching and to look for a couple of resource files and I'm getting:

No data received

Unable to load the webpage because the server sent no data.
Error code: ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE

Using google chrome/firefox. Every other place I go to loads up just fine but everything on the nexus (every page I try, mods, main page, random google search to get there) seems to have lost their servers. Anyone else having this or do I need to kick my router a few times?

Maintenance page is giving me the empty response as well. Guess they need to add more water to those potato jars.

*Ah now it showed up.

A) Often because we have to, and because 5 minutes of maintenance mode is better than 3 hours of down-time without maintenance mode.

Good to see I'm not the only one.

Weird thing is, Suckit  can connect on his pc. Two different PCs, one router, one modem...

I still can't connect, cleared cache, checked 2 different browsers, only thing I haven't tried was doing a computer restart/changing my ip.

It seems to be up now, guess the hamsters took a 4 1/2 hour nap.

I'm wondering if it wasn't just some of the servers(?). Suckit could go through the links and whatnot just fine. But I never could connect during that time period.
